Can't say that i'm really excited to see this but it is two old school wrestlers.

OT: I need to vent. Diego Sanchez lost in an unexciting fight to that jackass josh koscheck and GSP lost to fricken Matt Serra. Goddammit. GSP better get his ass back in the octagon and get the fricken title from that idiot. Jeez. Matt Hughes better get the title back so him and GSP can fight for it again. Plus Sanchez and Koscheck 3 because i can't stand seeing that idiot winning.

Why are they doing independent rounds?

Don't know. I heard they wanted to do it at Wrestlemania but, it didn't work out for some reason.
Axl
Probably because McMahon didn't want to shell out Hogan's normal $3 million dollar per match price tag, when he'd be facing a mid-card legend like Lawler.

Wasn't that the reason hogan wasn't at wrestlemania in the first place? to much money.
Axl
Yep.

The rumors I heard was that the deal had finally been reached for an Austin vs. Hogan match at WM. It was unknown who would loose, but most assumed Hogan was finally ready to put Austin over.

However Hogan asked for a ridiculous amount of money, McMahon balked, and the whole thing fell apart. McMahon still wanted an Austin story to promote "The Condemned", and decided to make him special ref in the Battle of the Billionaires Hair Match.

This Hogan/Lawler match was complete news to me.

However I do pose a question for this thread, because i've wondered about it for years...

Do you think, because of WM's huge association with the Hall of Fame inductions, that each year at WM, there could be a sanctioned 'Legends' match? Like this year could've been Hogan vs. Lawler, maybe down the road it could be Austin vs. Hogan. Next year, maybe Flair vs. Piper, or Dusty Rhodes vs. Flair, etc.

What do you think?

I actually think that could be a great idea. If anything just a match for the fans to see some old school wrestling. It be a great way to tie in the past with the future.

Not a bad idea for the legends match.. I just wonder if most of them can still wrestle... because lets be frank.. they've seen better days..

Anyways, Hogan stopped by on Bubba The Love Sponge today and mentioned the match.. and apparently wanting Bubba as his manager haha... And Hogan claimed he was broke, and wants to wrestle again for the fun of it, instead of the all the drama with Vince..

In other words, Vince is fed up with his bullcrap act of coming in and expecting guys to JOB to him so he can wrestle once a year and make $3 million dollars, so his slut, talentless, hack of a daughter can waste her life trying to become the next Britney Spears (even though 1998 is SOOOOOO OVER!) and his son can waste his life trying to live dreams of glory from a movie ("The Fast & The Furious") that was made six years ago.

Hey hey, maybe I can go get blonde hair extensions, dye it blonde, and then go around covering Welcome To The Jungle.

Maybe I can go get a white sport coat, and go to the Miami-Dade Police Academy & get sent to Vice. Maybe I can do the same, move to San Francisco and buy a yellow 1970 'Cuda (that one's for you BUBBA!)

What idiots...

Well guys listen to this from wrestlemag.com:

Memphis Wrestling have just ended their press conference to promote their big April 27 show at the FedEx Forum, where it was announced that World Wrestling Entertainment have forced Jerry Lawler to pull out of his scheduled match with Hulk Hogan.

Lawler stated that he learnt of this decision this past Monday ahead of WWE’s Monday Night RAW TV taping, and also noted that as the show was being taped for VH-1, he would be unable to appear as a result of WWE’s deal with NBC.

Later in the press conference, Hulk Hogan claimed that WWE had tried to get the entire show pulled and had offered to pay Cory Macklin (promoting the show) his deposit back (which Macklin also stated later in the press conference) as well as covering costs to refund ticket sales. Hogan went on to state that Vince McMahon and WWE had never had a problem with Memphis Wrestling in the past, commenting that the problems have only started since Hogan became involved.

It was then announced that Paul Wight (former WWE wrestler The Big Show) would replace Lawler in the main event. Wight was in attendance, and stated that he was no longer living “in the shadows” of anybody. He told of how he’s one of the few former WWE guys who Vince doesn’t own the rights to (as we noted this morning, Wight recently turned down a six-figure sum from WWE), and that he can now make his own deals. This brought up the topic of Wight potentially signing for TNA in the future. Although Wight didn’t outright say “no", he said he would be reluctant to sign with another company who could possibly “own” him.

How about that one?
Axl
Wight would be wasting his life in TNA. There'd be absolutely no purpose for him over there.

Hogan is paranoid. NOBODY CARES anymore. It's not 1987 anymore.

Thanks. I am hearing about this now on the news. I can't get used to calling Paul Wight, "The Great White". (His new ring name)

It upsets me too. I remember getting excited to see him and when he came down to the ring. I used to love Hogan.

Now he's just a punk jerk, that lives high and constantly thinks he deserves some kind of big payday and even more money.

His family is even MORE annoying. I was so glad at "Saturday's Night's MAIN EVENT" awhile back, that Brooke got her ass booed.
