I thought this was so funny when it happened but had to stife my lol so the dog wouldn't think I was pleased.
My daughter had a bowl of
Cherrio's in the livingroom she was munching on and had just left it there to go upstairs, thankfully there was no milk on them.
My keeshond, Atom, found the bowl and decided to help himself. I caught him in the act and yelled, "Atom! Spit those out!" He did - with spitting noises, head shaking and using his paws to dig the
Cherrio's off his lips. It was so comical to watch but the five other dogs were standing around waiting to run in and snatch them up so I had to put them all in down stays then picked up each
Cherrio one at a time dropping them into a trash can while they watched with dejected looks. When I was finished and had released the dogs from their down stay Atom put himself under the kitchen table. I think he was giving himself his own "time out!"
I wish I could say he had learned his lession to not eat anything I hadn't given him but he never did - he did learn fast to "spit it out" on command from that day foreword though. I never touched him in any way, my voice was enough. Keeshonden are quick learners and need little discipline. I still laugh over the way he spit those
Cherrio's out.
