David,

Please don't change the way that you respect your wife and your partnership with her. Regardless of what Blake Shelton might say or anyone else for that matter, you have won a huge fan base due to the way that you sing and the way that you conduct yourself in your partnership with your wife. Remember, with Country Music it isn't just the music, but the people and their integrity. Tonight with Blake's attitude about your relationship with your wife, he just lost a few fans. Glad to say I was never a fan and never owned any of his CDs, so I have nothing to throw away tonight. But I will be standing in line when you release your first album. Win!!! Here is all the best thoughts from my family to yours.

Thank you for singing so wonderfully and so many of my favorite songs.

I was very insulted in the way that Blake Shelton treated David tonight also. I think it is wonderful how he respects his wife and her opinion. I love what you said and I fully agree with you, I am glad I was never a fan of Blake's.
Dottie
I, also, was very insulted by Blake's behavior towards David and his wife. Way out of line!

Angi, I felt the slap that Blake made, but in thinking about it, I actually believe he was doing David a good service. The music business is tough and hard. Blake, I believe, was not suggesting David not consult with his wife, but rather the final decision must come from the man or woman on the platform. At least I hope that was Blake's position. He is a tough cookie, that Blake. Watch what he says about all of the performers. He usually comes out on the right side.

Good point. I agree I didn't like what Blake said. I thought that was very disrespectful, but I did see for a moment what you saw Rontoski. He was probably trying to help DSR, but in the heat of the competition it just came off as an insult.

It's great of DSR to keep his calm. Most people wouldn't be able to keep their composure that well.

Throughout this competition it's been tough to decide who should be #1. I definitely love DSR's style, voice, songwriting ability, stage presence,....... charisma. As far as someone who is a complete package... a complete entertainer. I think he's definitely got it.

I hope he wins for that reason. I admire amazing talent and he's got it!

DSR #1!!!

Well, we all now know that something is "off" about Blake. I think the way he spoke to David and Libby was very disrespectful and uncalled for. Maybe he is jealous because his relationship lacks stability. I love the way David respects Libby and her opinions. Thats what you call a real marriage and a darn Good MAN.!! Blake seems to be intimidated by David and uses comedy to hide his insecurities and went way overboard last night. I think he owes David and Libby both an appology.

To David. You are an awesome singer and a real man. There are so many people in this world that don't have the backbone to stand up for their religion and their FAITH in GOD. The younger generation needs someone like you to look up to. You are a true STAR. My family and I have been voting for you. We know that you will go ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!

To Libby, You are a very supportive wife and loving mother. You did not deserve the crude comments from Blake. I think that it is wonderful that David includes you in helping him make his final decision. That is what marriage is all about.

I went to Davids Hometown Concert and he was AWESOME. I loved how he talked about God. I believe that God have him this gift for a reason. We Love David and wish him and his family the best!
I can't wait to buy his CD's.

GO DSR!!!!!!!!!!!!! You deserve this.

I couldn't agree more. Anyone who's ever had a healthy marriage knows that the exchange between David and Libby on the video last night was sweet and it's the way you keep your marriage strong. It spoke volumes. As a friend of David's, I wasn't surpised at all. What you see from David on this show is the real deal. He's just a good person, and it seems, a good husband.

I think Blake was trying to help DSR out, he was advising Libby and DSR ( and its was mentioned before in Tracy's blog ) that DSR needs to show a record company the direction his music is going.
Everyone agrees he is a great performer, but no one is sure what direction his music is, they said that about his original song, in a blog etc and he hasn't showed which music is DSR>>
And think he was trying to get Libby to get DSR to settle down and devote his love of music to a certain type..
And then Jewel said the person on the stage should make the final decision, same thing she told Zac on his choice of songs to sing on Original night. He was being pushed by others to do another song, and Jewel told him it had to be his insticts and she would trust that.. Zac choose the right song..
I think that is what they are trying to get across to Libby and DSR in their decisions..

Thats just my opinion actually only Blake knows if he was being rude or if he was trying to be helpful..
And he knows if he comes off rude etc he loses fans etc...
I think he gives good advice but tries to be funny about it and its not taken that way...

David has said numerous times that seeing him on stage is just the same as seeing his entire family up there. So for him to stand up there and not say anything degrading right back to Blake shows what a good man he really is. Because we all know, you don't mess with a man's family! Blake was cmopletely out of line in the way he spoke down to Elizabeth like her opinion wasn't worth anything. Blake Shelton, to me, has proved over the period of this show that he is a womanizing pig. That's just my opionion, and now i'll step off of my soap box.

Whether or not Blake was correct in his advice really doesn't concern me as much as the delivery of his comments (maybe I should have mentioned that before). If those were Blake's feelings I really think he should have expressed them directly to David. Speaking to Libby like that he came across as very condesending and I don't think either of them deserved that.

YES IT WAS AN ATTACK ON DAVID AND HIS WIFE. FIRST, HE HAD THE NERVE TO TURN AND ADDRESS HER RATHER THAN HIM. THEN HE TELLS HER THAT HE DOES NOT KNOW WHO DAVID IS AS AN ARTIST. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN MR. SHELTON? WHAT IS SO HARD FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT A MAN BEING TRULY IN LOVE. DAVID HAS NOTHING SAD IN HIS LIFE RIGHT NOW, SO HE SINGS SONGS ABOUT HAPPY THINGS. YOU CALL YOURSELF TRADITIONAL COUNTRY YET YOU DISRESPECT ANOTHER SINGERS WIFE ON NATIONAL TV. I DONT THINK MANY TRADITIONAL COUNTRY FOLKS WOULD AGREE WITH YOUR WORDS THERE MR. SHELTON. I DO NOT THINK THAT JOHNY CASH, HANK SR, WAYLON, WILLIE, MERIL,DOLLY, PATSY CLINE, CHRIS CHRISTOPHERSON, HANK JR, GEORGE JONES, OR ANY OTHER LEGIONS WOULD BE VERY HAPPY THAT ONE OF THE FEW REMAINING ARTIST, THAT REALLY BELIEVES IN THERE MUSIC AND LIFESYLE WOULD AGREE EITHER.

RONTOSKI, YOU SAY THAT HE WAS DOING DAVID A GOOD SERVICE. DO WHAT!!!!! HOW CAN YOU EVEN THINK THAT. DAVID DOES NOT DEPEND ON HIS WIFE FOR SONGS. HE WILL AND SHOULD TALK WITH HER ABOUT IT. HELL HE HAS EVEN SPOKE TO ME ABOUT THEM. HE ALWAYS MAKES HIS MIND UP BUT HE GETS INFORMATION FROM ALL HE CAN. WHICH IS WHAT A GOOD PERFORMER DOES. WE GET MARRIED WELL WE SHOULD GET MARRIED TO PEOPLE WE WANT TO SHARE OUR LIVES WITH. DAVID WAS LUCKY HE FOUND HER. HE WOULD DO ANYTHING TO MAKE HER HAPPY AT ANY COST. IMHO THAT IS ONE OF THE COUNTLESS REASONS WHY DAVID IS GOING TO BE A VERY BIG STAR MAYBE EVEN THE BIGGEST THIS OR ANY OTHER REALITY SHOW HAS EVER PRODUCED. DAVID CARRIES HIMSELF LIKE A TRUE MAN SHOULD. IN THE END THATS ALL THAT MATTERS.

GO DSR

I too was disappointed in Mr. Blake Shelton. I can see why he and his wife or divorced after watching this show this season. David needs to definitely take no advice from Mr. Shelton. After watching this show, and especially after last night, I will not be renewing my membership with the Blake Shelton Fanclub. I will also not be buying his new CD that is taking him like 2 years to put out!!! He's really a great performer and somewhat humerous, but as he proved last night, he is a horse's rear end!

I waited a few days to respond to Blake Shelton's comments the other night, hoping I could dismiss them. However, I'm still as upset and utterly appalled at his comments to DSR and his wife. I know that some of you support Blake's comments as a way of bringing out the person behind the music and maybe that's constructive critisim. It's one thing to direct your "constructive critisim" to the contestant...well, it's expected. BUT for a judge, to turn to a man's wife as she is holding their new born baby and to say such inappropriate, disrespectful things is insulting and completely offensive. As a southern lady, I would certainly be in the right to slap Blake's face and say, "Didn't your mama teach you any better!!!"

Offended, absolutely offended! I think Blake owes DSR and his wife an apology. I also think the network should apologize for allowing such an offensive comment to be aired.
LoriD
I wholeheartedly agree with those who said that Blake was disrespectful and condescending to David and his wife. mad.gif That was completely uncalled for. Blake could have gotten his point across with tact.
I appreciate David's respect for his wife's opinion, but I think he should have sang what he wanted to in his heart. I think Blake was trying to make the point not to let his wife wear the pants in the family, but as we all know, if momma ain't happy....
And I personally felt cheated out of hearing him singing Travis Tritt's Anymore. I really feel that would have been a more powerful song choice.

Hi Nana4. I did go and read it, and I eat some of my words. You are right, Brannie55 is a class act.
Thanks for directing me to the post. I guess I need to remember that we only see what the producers want us to see. I have no favorite to win, all three are fantastic performers, but it's nice to see the comraderie between them all. They are all winners, regardless of wins the title.
