First, thanks for the great performance at the Centroplex today! The energy was just fantastic, and your songs and especially your attitude and message was soooo uplifting.

Now to the point. Your hitting what I would perceive as the part of the road that many can so easily deem as the "critical" junction. I'm sure that many in today's crowd were very happy to see you smiling from ear to ear as you performed. Nothing does as much for the soul as a return to family and friends, especially when you just have had a stressful stretch behind you, and still a ways to go on your journey forward.

In the last couple of weeks you have had to deal with what I am sure you felt was adversity. Obviously you are highly regarded not just by those you have won over from earlier in your career, but moreover so many more around the country who have become part of the DSR family.

Personally, I thought your original song from two weeks ago was fantastic, as did many. Unfortunately, it was apparently the show that you had to sing about bad childhoods and sorrow. Your song was so appropriate for what you are experiencing at this moment in time. Such a shame that you were seemingly criticized for being happy and focusing on positive things. I am not knocking Zack by the way, as his performance that week was nothing less than sensational. I just wish they would have sent you a copy of the memo that original songs had to be only about negative things or skinny dipping, but certainly not about being happy right where you are!

Of course this was followed up by this week when just about everyone was criticized. In fact, it wasn't a good week for Nashville Star, as it seemed to be a rather tense week for all involved.

As a new father, I can relate to placing your family on a pedestal. I never knew the love that a child can inspire from within, and it is completely satisfying to see you fulfilled by the love of your family and of God.

Now, enough emotion, back to the task at hand. Forget the negative. There are so many people, all with so many opinions, some who have agendas and some who speak simply to bring others down, but here is the bottom line. You are a fabulous entertainer. Your voice is soulful and rich, to the point where it is quite frankly just pleasing to hear. If anyone has never seen you perform in concert, then have not witnessed your true star power, and that is your ability to energize and involve your fans. I am not talking about a 1:45 snippet, heck, that isn't even remotely close to being able to do you justice. DSR, you move people, and that is a gift. Many people can sing, but with you it is more than just your incredible voice. You have a talent for making a connection with the crowd and they can FEEL what you are singing.

Ok, I have babbled enough. Yes, I am sure that there will be some spewing of negatives by some due to the heartfelt nature of my post, but heck, I was off today and just had to express my mancrush in words.

So, to summarize. You are a dynamic force in the universe. The results over the next few weeks are meaningless. Win or lose, your future is incredibly bright. Your good heart leads you to put the important things first, and that balance in your life will certainly comfort you and guide you thru any bumps in the road.

SMILE.

You are in fact, right where you want to be.

P.S.

SMILE again, you also racked up two T-shirt sales from me today.

Gl,

Chris.

David best of luck to you but please don't explode into a class O star you would destroy all life as we now know it.

I foretold the coming of ye negatory people. You just can't help it. Sorry we don't let us bring you down to your miserable level.

I don't get it either. Chris did a great job of expressing what DSR's fans feel for him. It was a wonderful post. Thank you Chris. smile.gif
