Full Version: What Did You Think Of Angela's Peformance?

Hi Bubba here, what did you think of Angela's peformance last night? I thought she did a pretty good version of Shania Twain's "If You Not In It For You (I'm Outta Here)".
HarleysMom
I thought she did a great job last night. Considering that she showed just another side of her to let people know that she is not just sad songs about heartache. She had the best performance of the night I thought with her lil bro right close behind her. I hope that people didnt listen to the judges last night because they were evidently just mad that viewers kicked her favorite off and took it out on the rest. Not a kind word said to anyone after Whitney butchered her song. But praises for Whitney? I didnt understand that.

Anyways all my votes went to Miss Hacker, sure hope she has enough to stay to the end.

I enjoyed it and I liked her version much more than Shania's! It wasn't my favorite performance, but I enjoyed seeing just a fun side to her where she could try to get the crowd more involved. I could easily see something like this at a concert. If she hadn't done something like this she would have been criticized for not showing any versatility. Personally I am a sucker for great ballads, where Angela soars. However I think it was important to show this side. I think the week following a great original is very tough and it was good to totally switch gears. I have no idea what Angela has planned for next week, but since it is the most important vote of the season, I'm guessing she has something fantastic planned! She is definitely my pick to win this!

I don't think any of the contestants did great last night, including my favorite, Angela. I did vote for her however.....based on previous performances. This week I didn't care for the song or wardrobe selection. I hope she does a great song next week, because I want her to win, and she may have lost ground this week.

I thought it was great. She has truly been my favorite since the show began. I have not seen any performance yet that she has not nailed. I thought it was great that she went out there, had fun and let the viewers see another side of her that we haven't seen yet.

I thought it was a terrible song choice. I am sure that her choices were limited however, it did not show her to really be above the rest of the contestants like she is. If she wanted to do a more uptempo song she should have chosen something she could connect with more. But I would say if that would have been her only song choice then I would say she did all right. I am just glad that Whitney Duncan is gone.

she didnt do bad but she did drop back into the pack. She is my favorite but she is not there to have fun yet. She better stop doing those kind of songs or she could be in trouble. I dont think anyone can touch her but she needs to go back to what got her her and there wont be a contest but keep doing ordinary songs like last night and she can loose. Personally I want her to win. I think she is great

I didn't like it. But I don't have to like everything she does. She is a great singer.

She has been standing there singing serious and sad songs. They suggest that David move around and entertain. The contestant's should have fun, first season they sang with stars, and did more originals. But they having them do short covers. Season one the contestants sang more songs each show than in the past seasons. I checked the song list for season one and it showed that the contestants sang a cover song and an original in some cases..
So she has to pick a cover song she thinks everyone will like, so tonight she decided to have fun and got blasted for it. She moved around and entertained the audience and the judges didn't like it why not?? I love Angela's singing but don't think I could sit through an hour of her just standing and singing sad songs....
She proved that she can entertain, and do uptempo songs also..

And then they say that the order they were in changed, humm would anyone be surprised if one of the top 3 from last week is voted off next week???

I didn't like her song choice either, but then I don't care for Shania Twain's stuff. In fact, I cringed when she started singing this. I felt like this particular song showed some vocal limits. I also didn't care for her outfit.

I love Angela!! I didn't like how she kept moving around the camera like she did but liked the song. She has a great voice, no matter what song she chooses! I liked that she was trying to be more entertaining and fun. I agree with whoever said I couldn't sit through a concert of all sad songs. rolleyes.gif

Honestly, i think she is just plain awful, and if she becomes the next nashville star America is clearly crazy!! Sorry!!

Angela was into putting on a show last night. Think she thought she had proven she can sing already. She put a lot of energy into it, but the camera following her on stage was distracting, been better without that. Listen to her sing the song without watching, and think you'll agree that she did her usual fine job - thought the song was no challenge at all (I mean Twain is no great singer and her songs are constructed to her limitations - ones that our girl can easily surpass). Think she could have achieved her goal better by doing something more directly country rock. She wants to win, and she is unquestionably the most talented. I'd love to hear her do a straight "hillbilly" song next week, one that wails. Know she could curl my toes doing that. But she is the best judge of what she does best. smile.gif

Didnt like the song choice at all and she was pitchy. And also didnt like the way she was singing to the camera and chasing it down. Sorry huh.gif

I think she did a great job!!!!! She is right on when she says that you need to have fun every once in while... My chalenge to you Angela is to sing something that speaks to the heart. It does not have to be a serious song, but a meaningfull one. There are lots of great songs out there that you would just blow out of the water.. So go get'em girl....

I think Angela has an amazing voice. It is the rough, edgey sound that works great with country music. Although, I don't think it was her best performance, I think it showed her versatility. American is going to fall in love with her music when her CD is released!

I enjoyed her energy in the song but it wasn't my fav performance of Angela's. BUT SHE STILL TOTALLY ROCKS AND I VOTE FOR HER WEEKLY!

Personally, I enjoyed seeing this side of her....and bad song choice, hmmm, I don't know. I did like her performance though & think she has a lot to offer. biggrin.gif

While it was not even close to her best performance, given the level of competition this week, she did great! I am really glad she did not choose this song the 1st or 2nd week, but it was good to see a different side of her. I enjoyed it.

I love to hear Angela but I thought the song choice was way off. Of course I don't care for the "twain twang" either. I think Angela is above all of that. I'd love to hear her do Pasty Cline or Loretta Lynn myself.

Personally, I think she did great. It wasn't her best performance, but the past few weeks we've seen her really in ballad mode, so it was kind of odd to see her do something else. It wasn't the best song for her voice, but she sounded good. Through her writing and original songs, when she does an "up-tempo" it sounds different and still has a more soulful sound than Shania. It is hard to feed that same "vocal", i guess you could say, into a cover song, than it is an original, because most people are more comfortable with their own stuff. I know I am. But I do think she did great. And hey, I liked her outfit too. Its ain't gotta be cowboy boots and levi's all the time tongue.gif .

I am really glad to hear that someone out there shares my opinion of her. Every song she performed on the show, fell seriously flat. Sounded like her voice would literally crack if she really attempted a high note somewhere. I am happy for someone trying to become successful, but don't think she will be a big seller out there. I definitely would not buy her cd's. Too boring. I don't even think she's a good karaoke singer, much less a nashville star.
