“Psych”: After Shawn (James Roday) springs Gus (Dulé Hill) from a work retreat, he finds himself intrigued by the death of a tennis star. Naturally, he and Gus decide to try to solve the case, and Shawn uses his amazing eye for detail and photographic memory to locate the culprit.

This should be a very funny episode tonight, especially if Shawn and Gus try to play tennis. laugh.gif

Okay... what was with the terrible green-screening of Lassiter into the Crime Scene #2 shot? It looked like something out of a bad 80's soap opera.

Also, I definitely appreciate the character development that has been occurring through the past few shows. Today's show, however, seemed to be all character development without much consideration for episode storyline.

Overall, I like the budding flirtation between Shawn and Detective O'hara, the greater amount of attention being paid to the relationship between Shawn and his father, and the backwards respect being developed between Shawn and Lassiter. I also like how they are giving Gus' character more depth... but the thing this week with him dying for a "cool" line was beyond cornball. The show could have gone with a better running joke this week.

That was one of the best episodes ever! Definitely one of the funniest. biggrin.gif I want to watch it again soon just so I can hear all the great lines again -- on a first viewing they come at you so fast you can't always enjoy them fully!

Shawn is a complete spaz and I love it. tongue.gif And I love all the interesting little details and twists of the relationships -- Shawn/Gus, Shawn/Juliet ("Roosters don't cackle!"), Shawn/Henry/Lassiter (who saw THAT coming??), etc.

I sound like a total shill, so I'll point out just three flaws. smile.gif One, I REALLY wanted to see Shawn and Gus in the minefield. Two, the Psychout scene looked like a deleted scene -- wish they'd left it in. Three, the killer was easy to spot this time.

But I'm enjoying this show so much. I guess I've been watching dramas (not always well made dramas) for far too long, because watching TV was starting to feel like drowning in angst and melodrama. I was so ready for a show like this.

I absolutely LOVED this episode! I think that Psych is finally back to the way it was - hilarious! I was laughing so much last night. I liked the scene where Gus was playing tennis with that girl (his leaps before they started playing was funny!). Gus wanting to have a "cool line" was a little corny, but I thought it was funny. Usually when Shawn asks his dad for help with a case, Henry acts almost annoyed, and just mumbles something that will help him out. I loved how this time he actually took the time to have Shawn sit down, and walk him through remembering each crime scene smile.gif I also loved it when Gus was lying on the floor next to the blood stain, pretending to be the tennis player, and that guy walked in, and Shawn was having some fun, telling the guy that now they were in this together! There were REALLY funny lines, too. Like when Shawn walked up to his dad's house, and saw Lassiter sitting next to him, and Henry asked "Shawn, what are you doing here?" and Shawn's like "I don't know, I guess I took a wrong turn and ended up in the twilite zone.". And when Shawn walked in on a meeting at the police department, and Lassiter's like "Jiminy Crickets! What?!!". And the Psych-Out last night was hilarious! laugh.gif

I loved the part when Shawn was like "Oh Tom that sounds really bitchin". Has the psych-out been added to the website yet?
