I have no problem with Whitney Duncan being beautiful and her voice could be adaptable if it had more depth and range. I think people can be down right mean with criticism, but I also believe American Idol is successful because some very delusional people need to be told the truth. Truthfully, I thought Whitney's song Skinny Dippin was catchy and cute, innocent and honest and fit her voice. But I have to disagree with all the judges except for Blake on their critique of her performance of Percy Sledge's classic, "When A Man Loves A Woman." I would have rather heard Zac Hacker sing that song rather than the non-descript choice he selected this week after such a powerful performance during original song week, but Whitney's voice is no where near strong enough to carry that song. The emotion seemed so contrived and I wonder if she understands the desperation and heartbreak that bleeds through the song. I am not a Whitney hater, but someone who is not a part of the fan club needs to say it, "Whitney, stay cute, fresh and clean. Have fun, bring joy and stick to your strengths."

Sorry Whit, sad to see peoples hearts broke when this is their dream. However, you made it this far on this obsticle, keep trying, I am sure you will make it somewhere sometime. I disagree with women bashing you. I think that some comments need to come out so that we can figure the bumps in the road out. Welcome to becoming a star... Take the good with the bad and you will make it far.
