I don't watch CI alot, so all I know are Goren & Eames' names, so I was just wondering if anyone knew the name of the detective who replaced Eames when she was pregnant. She has red hair... I'm guessing you know who I'm talking about... I think she's a good detective, not as good as Eames but she was a good replacement for the several episodes she was in.
Christian
Her name was Bishop and I'm pretty sure they never gave her a first name.
AllThatJazz
For some reason, Lynn jumps to mind, but I don't know. She was all right. She was no Eames though. :-)
abigyrl
I agree, she was pretty good, but she really didn't have a personality. With Vincent (Gorem) there and his personality, it really showed how much she didn't have. She most definately wasn't Eames!
soccermanic
goren liked eames better, i think, cuz he kept saying eames would've done this or eames would've thought this, then there was one ep where he was staring at the desk eames would've been at and then he came up w/something on the criminal missing his partner, but that could just be me, idk
Christian
No, he definitely liked Eames better. The episode you are thinking of is 'F.P.S.' where Goren says something and Bishop keeps saying 'I don't get it!' 'What do you want me to do?' and Goren says 'Eames would have known' and then he throws a paperwad at Eames' empty chair angrily. Soon after he looks around embarassed and comes to the realization about the criminal missing his partner.
soccermanic
yea that's wat i was talking about.
soccermanic
i've meant to ask about this awhile ago but i forgot all about it until i saw the ep. yesterday where the captain was wearing an eyepatch. i was wondering if any1 knows why he wore that?
Colors
I thought he just wanted to be a pirate. Can't really say though

Sheridan was wearing an eye patch because he was suffering from Bell's Palsy. The writers worked the patch into the storyline on CI. Bell's Palsy is a condition that causes the facial muscles to weaken or become paralyzed. It's caused by trauma to the 7th cranial nerve, and is not permanent. And Jamey is now fine.

I found this on the net somewhere. I can't quite remember....
soccermanic
oh thank u
soccermanic
oh, idk why i didn't check on imdb b4 but i just went on there rite now and so this

Suffers from Bell's Palsy and has worn an eye patch in several episodes of Law & Order: CI, with the patch being written into the storyline.

so yea, Christian u were rite

Can someone PLEASE help me?I just started watching CI a short time ago.I LOVE IT!! I have never heard Eames talk about a husband and just read another post about her husband being a cop who was killed.Who is the baby's daddy??I just saw an episode where she was pregnant and the next episode has another woman in her place. How did they explain her pregnancy?
soccermanic
yea, the writers wrote her pregnancy into the story by saying that she was haveing a baby for, i think it was, her brother and his wife. the other lady was temporarly replacing her until she had the baby and everything
krazymomrae
Thank You!!
psychochik
Yeah she was a surrogate for her brother who's wife was unable to concieve. It was a very nice gesture.
lakesamm
so is that the text message goren got in tonight's ep, about the baby?
psychochik
I didnt see the episode tonite, its on at midnite, if I'm up then I'll watch otherwise, I'm not 100% sure. If I recall, he did recieve news about the baby by text, so I'm sure thats the one. I'll let ya know if I can stay up.

I've just recently started watching this show and I'm hooked. However, I know that Goren got a message on last
night's show that Eames gave birth. The other partner
said she would wrap up the case and for him to go call
her. Prior to that taking place there was a scene where
Goren was upset and he looked at her empty seat with
sadness and then anger. It looks as though his new
partner doesn't understand him as well as Eames. Do
any of you think that Goren does have feelings for Eames
that is more than friendship?
Since the show doesn't really let us know too much about
their relationship I suppose we can only imagine.
psychochik
I think he was upset because he and Eames are really tight and the fill in partner wasnt quite the right hand person he was used to. There may be some feelings there, but I also lean more towards the two of them just being so in tune with eachother and like any relationship when one half is missing, its off. Nothing was right while Eames was out, from the first episode that Bishop stepped in he was off. He did his best to attempt to get along with her, but she was no Eames and he just couldnt quite click.
Patcat
The subtle, complicated relationship between Goren and Eames is one of the many things I like about LOCI. It's deeper than most partnerships and friendships. As is true of a lot of relationships based on Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, the Holmes like character (Goren) needs the Watson like character (Eames) a lot more than the Watson needs the Holmes. I don't think it's a romantic relationship, althougth there's been huge amounts of fanfiction written suggesting one (and I confess with some shame I've contributed to it).

In the real world, nearly every interview Mr. D'Onofrio has given regarding LOCI has included his making several very complimentary comments about Ms. Erbe.

I wasnt able to stay up to watch the episode, but from the descriptions I have read, that episode sounds like the one where he gets the message at the end and Bishop tells him to go call her. Good episode !
That was an episode where it was real obvious that he missed Eames emmensely.
psychochik
Exactly !!
bringirl2001
yeah and THAT is the FUN of CI to me-- It is really about the case and the mystery or the solving of it-- but every now and then they put just a moment or tow of what we like to call " shippy" things-- and BAM--- it can be HOW you want to interpret it-- which is really cool-- I do NOT want the show to actually " show" anything between them-- that would take away from my " wonderful" fan fictions which i read "constantly" and frankly i don't think the show could EVEN hold a candle to some of the fanfic writers that I enjoy-- teehee-- I LOVE this show becasue they give you " just enough" to think what you want to think---- but NO- I don't think you will EVER see- longing glance or see VDO's backside like we did with NYPD blues or some of these other detective show- teehee(More's the pity about his backside- haha- but oh well....) anyway-the show just lets us know they are really GOOD friends and care abut each other
gorenfan
I have wondered myself...There dseems to be dsome kind of chemistry there...could not get used to the red head.
Do you loike the new episodes with Chris Noth? I am not crazy about him...miss Goren
DrEvil818
Hello everyone. I'm new here. I definitly enjoyed the marathon. Does anyone know which episode it was when Bobby and Alex were in a clothing store, and Bobby was acting very femanine? I only cought part of that episode, I wanted to know the title so I can watch it when it is on again. Also what season was it? Thanks

Don't quote me on this, but I think it was Anti-thesis. It was the first show with the character Nicole Wallace posing as Elizabeth Hitchens.
vanilla
It was Anti-Thesis, which was the start of the Nicole saga.

Yes.
psychochik
Yepperz !! And do it began !! But ya gotta admit it was damn funny when they were in the store and he was quite feminine, he reminded me of my gay friend Noah when he was talking, I was rollin on the floor practically. That was some funny stuff.Too bad it had to be in the episode that started the madness of Nicole.
elliotstablerfan
Does anyone know Goren's middle name? Or Eames's middle name?
psychochik
O man, I saw them somewhere not too long ago, but I cannot for the life of me remember. I will check the LOCI board and see if the link is there !!
Patcat
Stephanie Sengtupa, one of the producers and writers, said in an interview that Goren's middle name is an initial, "O.", just "O". It's a tribute to the character Roger O. Thornhill (played by Cary Grant) in NORTH BY NORTHWEST.

Ok. Thank you very much

It is an interesting show. Enjoy it a lot.

CI likes to reflect a lot of real events happened in the world. That's nice. But, I wonder how much reality check they do before showing it. At least the things about China seems quite out of fact to me.

On episode "CHINOISERIE" season 2, they talk about that China has "compulsory military". I am from China, I never heard about that. In China, most people who join the army are from countryside, where people want to get better life through military service. Pretty much like here in US. "Half Chinese in NY were in PLA"? Cannot believe it. Nowadays, the immigrants from China are mostly through H1B. They usually got college education from China. College guys definitely don't go to military.

The Chinese nickname they gave to that evil Chinese guy does not make sence at all. "Fa Pi Qi Sha Ren" is a verb. In China, you don't use a verb to be a nickname, especially for someone you hate.

In episode "FALSE-HEARTED JUDGES" season 4, the killers use "Gou Qi berry" for their vision enhancement. Well, they are correct that "Gou Qi berry" is good for your eyes, but these berries are not so expensive and exotic as described in the show. "200 bucks for a bag in NY"? cannot believe it. I can buy that with 5 bucks in Chinese grocery store around SF bay area.
Monique
Your comments were very interesting to me. It sounds as if their consultant on Chinese information is not reliable. You might consider sending your comments to the show as so much of what people learn about other countries is through (fictional) tv shoes.

So i been re watching many episodes and now i have tons questions and i need help answering them and because i know i'll have more later i just created a thread on them. Plus if anyone else has a question you can post it here! okay so questions...
1.in siren call the Wasinski guy (no idea how you spell his name) turns around with the gun. But he only has it on himself and they think he's going to kill himself. Now am i crazy or should one of them not of drawn their gun at that point? It would of prevented the hostage situation that followed and isn't that protocol? (Assuming this was real life and it wasn't done this way because the writers wanted it!)

2.in 'Inert Dwarf' season 4. The reason major case gets the case is because the FBI thinks the guy is a danger and they went to confront him and when they did he fell over dead. I still don't get why they thought the guy was a danger. They said something about a thing in his bag but what the thing was i'm still confused! if some one can help me out that would be great.

3.My final question right now is about Nicole Wallace. I've been watching the reruns on Omni2 and i saw Anti theasus when it showed and Great Barrier Reaf when it showed. Was there one with Nicole in between? their was hints their had been but i never saw it. i think their's one in season 5 as well but i don't know.

Okay if anyone can help me with any of these questions that would be great!
Skeptic007
OliviaFan, I'll try to help the best I can.

1. The detectives couldn't have anticipated the hostage situation occurring; they had to deal with Officer Wiznesky at the moment he pulled the gun on himself. And at that moment, their duty was to prevent the suicide, so pulling their guns would only have escalated the situation and perhaps provoked Wiznesky to pull the trigger.

2. Major Case got involved in "Inert Dwarf" because radiation poisoning was involved, and there were concerns post-9/11 that there were terrorist connections or involvement in the incident. The bag was suspect because it could have contained a bomb or some other terrorist device.

3. Nicole's first appearance was in the Season 2 episode "Anti-Thesis," and she also showed up in the Season 2 finale "A Person of Interest." She didn't return until Season 4 in the "Great Barrier" episode (the one with two endings), and then again in the Season 5 episode "Grow." She was mentioned, but not seen in other episodes--I forget the title, but it's the one where we find out she was acquitted of all charges. She also was mentioned but unseen in the Season 5 episode "Slither"--she's the one Goren and Eames figured killed Bernard in the final scene.

As far as this question goes-
Nicole wallace was in A Person of Interest which aired between Anti-Thesisand Great Barrier. I like how you added the reef part. biggrin.gif
Grow was a season 5 eppy w/Nicloe Wallace.

So sorry, Chocaholic already answered. Anyway, I hate when that happens.
karraselle
Chocaholic gave great answers and I'd just like to add, on your question about Inert Dwarf, they were tracking a radiation signature. They detected it and, like choc said, thought it could be a bomb. It was the isotopes in the coffee thermos, remember? biggrin.gif

Oh!!! thanks guys those things were really bothering me!
okay another question. I'm sure we have gone through it before but in blind spot when Goren says "so she's trapped..."
i still don't get how he knew! as far as i can tell tis because he thought that Declan was the killer but i'm still sorta confused!
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!
tinaAt2
I'm sorry. Unfortunately, I missed most of that episode (the only one I've really missed all season). I haven't been able to see when it will air again. I really want to see it.
yankeesfan
I wanna see it too because I missed it. sad.gif I might but it off itunes, so then I could watch it whenever I want.

i think he still thought that Declan was the killer. he thought she was trapped because Declan was in custody. he had been caught with Eames cell phone so they had him locked up but so was his daughter because Declan wanted her to be safe.

also i have a question:

in ep one also called One Goren makes a promise to girl who got shots parents. he says hell catch the perp. then eames come in and says: that a nice thought but how can you make a promise like that? then goren says: well we dont have (he might had said get) to do this for a bunch of rocks.

i assume he means the diamonds the perps stole but i still dont get what he means. can anyone help?
OliviaFan
ya he meant that it was a better motivational thing if they did it for the girl then for the diamonds. Also Eames was upset that he promised this in case they didn't catch him. And Bobby was just saying that the girl mattered more than the diamonds.
CIlover
mkay, thanks.

In the episode stress position in season 4 the corrections officers come out and trap Logan and Goren. They basically say that they are going to kill them and everyone already knew that they would. My question is maybe i'm going insane but neither Goren or Logan drew out their guns! I'm not a trained detective or anything but if some one was trying to kill me with a knight stick i would definetly pull out my gun! eve if i didn't shoot anyone it would probably make me feel better!
