Bobby is very attractive. Who ever picks Bobby will have to have really wide shoulders. Not only is he a cop, but he has a huge amount of baggage. She will have to help him carry it.

I'm guilty of that. I was thinking, I better pray that everything goes well while he was at the mental hospital, and then I was like, wait. he's not real. nevermind. I do say prayers for the cast, though.

If I were Bobby's girl, I'd have to find a way to take care of him and keep you "men stealers" away from my man.
As it is, I'm claustrophobic (can't even get into an MRI machine) and am having anxiety attacks about Bobby being chained to that bed. What would happen if the bed legs collapsed or it tipped over.

See what you've done. I need to take a prozac now (just kidding). No wonder he makes Bobby scream and cry. Kathryn says some bits of scenes are unscripted. VDO says in an interview he tries to get to the core of the character in each episode. I guess that's why we love them so much.

I am curious about something in the episode Stress Position. The guard who was killed had been accepted with FDNY and the nurse was glad that he was getting out. When Bobby and Alex questioned her, Bobby noticed that she was studying to be a paramedic. I don't know if it was said or just implied that she was also trying to get out of the prison. But why would she have to change professions (well, its not that much of a change from nurse to paramedic) to get another job? Are nursing jobs that hard to come by in New York? I know that here in CA there are always positions available for nurses, especially RNs. I assumed it was the same everywhere. In fact, that is one of the perks of nursing--you can always find a job. So why was Gina feeling trapped? Of course, it was her conflict about her job that got Logan involved with the case. But every time I watch this episode (and I watch it a lot--its one of my favorites), I wonder about it.

She may have needed a change. Granted its not a big change, but she may have decided that nursing was too much. A nurse tends to have to spend more time with the patients, and working in that prision may have affeted her ablility to detatch from her patients.

I'm a retired OB/GYN nurse for 23 years, and from personal experience, nursing is a very stressful and hard work. In that episode her changing from a prison nurse to a paramedic, IMO, would be due to all the flack and harrassment she would get from inmates. I would never want to work in a prison as a nurse myself.

Don't know if this is the right thread, but I was watching The Good Child last night (it's on again right now...USA, 5pm cst), and noticed that it used the name of the show's unit production manager / production manager, Mary Rae Thewlis, when they show a printout of families on welfare in Buffalo...her name is shown on the list a line above the name Eames is referring to.

I'm an LVN (most other states call them LPNs) and about once a year I get recruiting letters from the state for jobs in the prisons. They are always recruiting. But I just throw the letters away. Good pay, good benefits, but NO WAY! They also hire RNs for the prisons, but more LVNs. A friend at church who is a counselor at one of the prisons told me how much I would make if I went to work there, and how much more with overtime. Its a lot of money. But, good grief, I don't even like working 40 hours/week, why would I want overtime?
I was just curious about Stress Position. I get that maybe Gina wanted a different career. I just thought that if she was so stressed and scared about the abuse she saw, she could have easily gotten a job at at hospital and been out of there. I assumed she was an RN, but if she was an LPN maybe that would limit her choices more. I know some hospitals only hire RNs.

Like everyone was depressed in that episode. And I thought it was rude and sad whenever Ross commented on Eam's late husband:
Ross: " Sounds like Joe was an EX to me."
Eames: " Not my ex.. He's been dead for 8 years now."

I loved The War at Home - you begin to see the toll that Bobby's mother's illness is taking on him and how he feels he's being pulled in two different directions. And I actually thought Ross's reaction to Eames' husband was actually very human and kind of sweet (OK - I think this is twice I've defended Ross!) - it was typical not sure what to do now that I've stuck my foot in my mouth 'sorry'.

I think that it just looks worse b/c vince was so rotund the first part of the season. I love that line too - Even though people refer to Goren as 'anti-social' I think the man is very accepting of most people and makes friends very easily when he wants to. I can see him in the check-out line at the grocery store making friends with the little old couple in front of him. He just strikes me as very open-minded (except towards dead-beat dads and abusive husbands). And what an array of friends he seems to have - language majors, bikers, mechanics, professors.
QUOTE (Lozzie @ Jan 16 2008, 07:09 AM)

In my alternate universe, the answer is simple. Take what follows with a hefty pinch of salt.
Everyone was on their way to the location for a day's filming, But, en route, the wardrobe truck was held up at cutlass-point by Judyq. Every single item of clothing that had been within 20 feet of Vincent's body was abducted by Judy. She likes sniffing it and then selling it on eBay when his scent has faded.
So - calamity - but what could be done? The light was fading, the site caterers were in danger of running out of doughnuts, and the grips were revolting. But Vincent had no threads to wear as Goren!
"Don't worry!" says Vincent suddenly. "I've got an idea. I'll just wear my own clothes for these scenes. I'll improvise some action to explain why I am dressed like ... well, dressed like me, basically."
And that's what he came up with, at very very short notice, without the benefits of doughnuts, costume changes or script re-writes (if he is singing then they don't count as 'lines'). What a trooper that man is, really. Give him a round of applause.
Simple really

Correction to your observation Lozzie - I do NOT sell the clothing on E-bay. If I did, I would be sooooo wealthy. I keep every and anything that has come in contact with VDO. Once the scent has faded, I add it to the main sail I am sewing together for the VDOSilverClipper - every good pirate ships needs an impressive main sail and what would be better than VDO's own clothes?!

I need to ask Chimera to make a picture of that - what a stupendous idea ... here Judy, let me sharpen your cutlass for you. And you can have an extra ration of grog every day for a week.
(totally off topic - I was wondering why I liked the character of Nicole Wallace so much and it transpires that Olivia d'Abo traces her ancestry to pirate families here in England.)
I wish I had Chimera and Janx's talent (or that of most of the folks here - I can't photoshop to save my life). Thanks for the sharpened cutlass - that could be dangerous, have you seen me with sharp objects? And the grog will come in handy, although it won't bode well for me sewing a straight line!
(And since you're back, I'm learning new things again. I need you to keep me enlightened.)

AHA! So THAT's why you wanted help with ebay, eh, Sister?
I'm on to your little scheme now!
