Whitney Duncan is by far possibly the worst singer I have ever seen on Nashville Star. She may be hot but when it comes to singing she is really bad. I just hate how the judges are so pimping her. I would outsing her anyday anytime.

That is the most absurd comment I have ever heard. The judges are not the ones that are voting so how can they be pimping Whitney.
And the fact that you can "out sing her anyday" is why we are watching her on Nashville Star and not you???????

I think what Matthew is saying is that the judges are influencing the popular vote, with their overly-positive comments about Whitney. And if you don't agree with that, I'd be happy to put a poll up on this board and let the members decide, although it would be pretty much an overwhelming decision I believe.

No the reason you are watching her and not me is because the show is pimping her to be the winner. No matter how horrible she sounds they hardly ever say bad things about her. I wonder why because they want her to win. Also she magically appears added in the regionals

Go read the voting rules. The producers have the final say on who goes home regardless of the voting. One out of every three people are tone deaf and I'm guessing you must be one of them.

No personal attaks here!

It is true that the producers have final say in who WINS... I think the final two is up to the voting public and, 9 times out of 10 the producers go along with the winner... but, just like on american idol, the label has the right to decide who actually wins the show and the record deal.

Can't wait til next week to see how you do with one of your own songs. You have a GREAT voice. I have been voting for you since the beginning of the show.

Cliff, I really doubt that there are many people out here that are changing their vote from some other contestant they like to instead vote for Whitney who they don't like, just because of the judges 'overly-positive comments'. I'd be interested to see the results of that poll...

The sad fact is it really doesnt matter who we are voting for. If the producers really want Whitney to win then she will. I think it will be a very bad decision if that happens. Not only because Whitney is not deserving but fans will find out and know that the show was rigged. I have a feeling that while she may not actually win the show the producers will still have that sweet deal lined up for her. As in to help cover up the theory of a fixed show.

I don't see where the producers have a personal incentive to rig anything. Unless they intentionally want to not be renewed for next season.
The label, on the other hand, does have an incentive to select one over another, based on who they may feel is best rather than the general voting public. Maybe we should give the producers a break, and look at them.
Has anyone considered that perhaps Whitney DID have more votes than Meg? Assuming the show isn't attracting a material percentage of new viewers week after week, the only source of new votes is from the person just voted off. It doesn't surprise me in the least that Whitney would inherit many of those orphaned voters. I don't believe she will benefit as much from Meg's voters - I believe Angela will benefit most.

The audition process is the most common way to make regionals, but it's sure not the only way. There are private auditions and videos and then sometimes the label asks for an addition. I can't prove it now...if I ever could...but I believe this is how Whitney landed at Regionals. I
know she wasn't on the initial list of Regionalists.

Thanks for the kind comment. As for when I was on the Opry it was on May 29, 1999. I was part of a group called the Young Guns. We were a country boy band back before Rascal Flatts came along. We actually were on the Opry the night Brad Paisley debuted on the Opry. Sherrie Austin was on there as well.

The reason they dont say anything is because they have labeled her as the winner. Thats what Blake and Anastasia have said from the start. And they hardly ever give her any criticism they always cover it up by saying how nice she looks. Looks can only do so much.

She is a performer and she can work the audience as good or better than anyone in the competition. If you take for instance Madonna...she isn't the best vocalist, but she knows how to perform and she is a success. Whitney has had moments where she wasn't at her best, I agree, but this girl is going somewhere.

If Whitney Duncan wins Nashville Star this will probably be the end of the Nashville Star show. I believe that next week Josh will go home while it should be Whitney. The reason Josh will go home is so Whitney will be in the final 4 and thus she will get to be on the Nashville Star tour. Now if she makes it to the final 3 then there will be a real big stir. They already got rid of someone with potential and that was Kacey.
