huh.gif IMHO it's not fair to give Zac a song he didn't like, then knock him for saying so rather
than critique his actual performance (which was pretty good) and then give David a song
that was "part of his repertoire for 10 years". Hello?!

Remember Tamika who got voted off over negative press she got on the show (when she was
obviously the most talented vocalist that season...) ??

I completely agree. I give Zac a lot of credit for expressing his views on the song. It shows he actually knows what he likes and is not just a follower. I thought that he did a great job on the song and feel that he is a true star in that he was able to arrange the song and make it his own. Good luck Zac! Hope you do great and if you ever come out with your own CD I will be in line to be the first to buy it.

(By the way, my husband also loves your sound.)

I totally agree. I want to hear someone who can feel the song that they are singing. I agree with everything zac said on that clip. I think zac done a wonderful job. He got mine and all of family's vote.
VoterOne
My votes are in, he pulled it off great again. I was a little leary after the comments from a couple bad judges on his song selection last week (we loved his song). Any real country fan knows good country music and enjoys it for what it is!
And what was all that talk about conforming to an image! What a crock! If you know who you are and what you can sing, stick with it. And Blake's jacket sucked, I think he should have picked out his own clothes tonight!

I agree 100%!!!

The judges job is to help the singers become BETTER at their stardom... not pick a song you think they can't sing... Then, when you find out they didn't like the song, but MANAGED TO MAKE IT HIS OWN AND ACTUALLY LIKE IT IN THE END... knock him for it????

How many votes per person actually count?? I voted about 10 times each on my phone and my roommates... and then the same online.

come on guys... get Zac back next week...

I LIKE the fact that he didn't change his sound, style, or who he is just to sing the song to please the judges. Another singer who did the same thing... ?? Toby Keith! or how about Gary Allan!! More power to 'self-truth'. Even Angela's attitude about her song choice was so-called "negative". The judges claim they like the bluesy sound of the Hackers, then try to change it --- either to make 'em rockers, or whiners (not knocking the song, because I think Angela did a great job and it IS a classic country song)!!!!

Anastasia, IMO, is worse than Simon Cowell on American Idol --- because she lets her personal tastes and opinion cloud her judgment. Simon states fact... either they're good singers or they're not... and offers them advice on how to IMPROVE! Anastasia? I never have agreed with her and would LOVE for her to be off the show next season. I can't stand her!!!!

*steps off soap box*

Sorry... had to vent!

That's highly debateable.

However, I agree that Zac did a good job on his song. Randy made an excellent point that it's difficult for a singer to know what's a good song for them to sing. I've heard a lot of singers say they originally didn't like one of their biggest hits.

I believe I read that George Jones didn't like "He Stopped Loving Her Today" when he originally heard it.

#1 country song of all time on most lists.

There were several contestants who dissed their song selections in the video clips... even Angela smile.gif, Why the judges choose to pick on Zac... But I just want to let Zac know that we are still behind him and that he is a fantastic southern rocker.... Rock on Zac!
SamIAm
Thanks for the agreement, guys... rolleyes.gif

regarding the song selection/attitude...

Last week, Jewel said it best (I forget which contestant she was talking to at the time) --- when she had a decision to make about her career direction, she had to choose to go with striving for the stats, the number one hits... or doing what she felt was right for her. She's not a super, super mega-star like some artists out there with HALF her talent (did you hear her AMAZING singing last night????)... but she's true to herself. At some point you (as an artist in a big business machine) have to decide which is more important (the numbers... or getting to do what you love). I, for one, hope that Zac DOESN'T get sucked into all the pizzazz of the entertainment business. If the last couple of weeks are any indication, he'll stay true to his style. I don't want them to change him. I love him and his music just the way it is!
valeri
I voted for crazy like Zac last night! He is amazing and I really hope he makes it through. I hate how the judges focused on so much negativity with him. Whatever happens, im a fan for life!

I agree about staying true to their art as well. and yes, Jewel is simply amazing! I don't think I have heard that much of her music, but after last night I want to go buy her CD

Yes and they got Angela for it also,,, Ms. Brown stated that with her attitude she just let everyone else back into the game..
But they keep telling you how professional Whitney was when they changed her song,
I say prove it I didn't see any video of her being told her song was not approved and she would have to do another one..
But she did one and was pitchy and they said so but since she acted like a pro, they hoped she would get another chance...

Thats from the judges not me. And I don't recall the hackers being told they were pitchy twice and Whitney has on 2 songs so far, and Ms. Brown has her blog up saying Zac should get a band and out and tour but he is not a Nashville star and that Angela should change her attitude
And again in her blog she states how professional acting Whitney is and that David is learning fast etc

Check out Ms. Brown's blog from last weeks show and I think she sort of acting like Zac is gone
Just my opinion/

Plus I am mad as we missed half the show due to Directv losing the feed from USA

Check out Tracy Gershon's blog - you may feel a lot better - and she really knows what she's talking about!

I love Angela, but my ex-wife loves Zack, apparently the Hacker's have some kind of sexy thing going.

I really miss Tracy! Tracy please come back, and kick Anatastia's ass while you are at it!!!!

Thanks for mentioning Tracy's blog... I used to love her on the show, and I agree with her assessment. biggrin.gif

I was mortified.... he has such an amazing voice and the song did nothing to make him shine. I thought he recovered beautifully from the beginning of his video.. he didn't like the song, but worked hard and pulled something from his life experience to do it right. I wasn't his best performance - but I think they set him up to fail.
iblyn
Zac had the right to say he did not care for that song, This is a contest and he wants songs that he feels good about. And what happened to free speach, maybe it's not free on the show.If you disagree with the judges you pay the price. mad.gif
