Since the new season began the shows do not seem quite as funny to me, and I think I know why. In the episode "Forget Me Not" there was wasn't to much confrontation between Shawn and Detective Lassiter.(I hope I spelled his name right) Personally, I always thought that those were some of the funniest scenes in the show and also there did not seem to be as much wild and craziness. Do not get me wrong, there were still some very funny parts, but it just was not the same. It wasn't as satisfing.
Am I the only one whose noticed this and is unhappy? Please write.
P.S. Does anyone know where I can go online to try and email the people that write the show. I'd like to tell them how I feel.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Even the interaction between Shawn and Gus is somewhat different. I don't know who wrote for the first season, but they need to take it back to square one.

I agree. This season has seemed more... well... "flat." (For lack of a better word.)
I think it's due to multiple reasons.
- Some of the characters are losing their "edge." Lassiter, for example, seems less bizarre.
- They're focusing too much time on relationships without chemistry. (They're wasting airtime on Juliet & Shawn, for example, whose relationship seems dull to me. Just an opinion!)
- They've lost some of the dynamic between Gus & Shawn that made the show interesting ("talking" without saying a word, or inside jokes, or just the quick "fist bump" in the right spot to show the intimacy of their friendship).
- They're focusing less on Shawn's "psychic" ability. He used to go through a lot of theatrics to "prove" he was psychic--convulsions, visions, dances, etc. Now his "psychic ability" is almost an afterthought. He spends less time trying to cover his genuis with psychic mumbo-jumbo, so we get fewer of those funny scenes.
These are, of course, just my humble opinion. But these are the reasons I think the shows have been less hysterical. Yes, they're still funny. But not knee-slapping, side-splitting funny.

I actually like the writing better since Psych came back.
I like that Shawn & Gus are acting more like friends than business partners. Shawn seems to be respecting Gus some more and having a real friendship with him. For example, Shawn tried setting Gus up with women to see him happy...which I thought was nice.
I also like Shawn having a bit of a softer side...some depth in other terms. I also like the Henry/Shawn scenes that have been on the episodes since the series return. The show seems to be exploring that relationship some more.
The focus on the Shawn/Juliet relationship is good if you ask me lol. I think they have chemistry and could be a great pairing if the show goes in that direction. I like how they are slowly developing them and giving these two more scenes together
The only thing that seems "off" to me this season is Lassiter. Something about him just seems odd to me for some reason

i think the show is just as funny, although i do have to agree that there is less crazy psychic antics.
