Meg don't let Angela run away with the competition.

Have a great week!

Relax, have fun and give us your best performance yet.

Be the Star that you are and Shine Pretty lady, Shine.

Meg, please take this person's post with a big grain of salt. He bashes you all over the board, and I'm sure he's checking back here to see if he was able to rile anybody up.

Although, I wouldn't take him that seriously. What with his 143 IQ and all one would think he could spell competition.

Love you Meg, good luck this week!

Actually I meant what I said. The bashing started only because a few of you started throwing personal insults when ever someone had a negative criticism over one of her performances and was meant more to anger you than insult her. Sorry! I never said anything bad about Meg as a person. I may have said she's not country but then again so are the music critics but you can't hurl insults at them can you. I may have said Meg's performances to this point have been dull and lack luster. JMHO!

When I said Meg was a poser I didn't mean Meg was a poser I meant I 'm trying to piss you off for being ignorant and insulting me. As a member of the TV audience I am asked to judge these performers and vote for the one I like best.
With 15 years musical experience on and off stage, having heard criticism good and bad of my own performances I feel qualified to make an honest judgment. Meg has a very nice voice and I'd like to hear more of it. A little more range and some power vocals. Can she sing softly and then belt it out in the same song? Meg if you read this you are the dark horse in the race right now, you're half way up the back stretch and need to make up some ground. I think you have been a little tentative and a little bit tense. Enjoy yourself out there and let it loose. I know you can! I love your smile. You go girl!

You don't know me, nor what I am. The End!

While some comments of ARN's have managed to tick me off, for the most part I see what he's about.
I've fallen into his game a time or two, shame on me! I agree wholeheartedly that Meg's preformances need to be stepped up. My wife and I personally are hoping to see Meg make the final 3. To be honest though, we doubt it. I just doubt that Nashville Star will go that far with an Americana musician.
Stranger things have happened ie; Erika Jo.

Now I haven't said this year, but I really don't see a power house in the bunch. Some great taent, but no one that really displays that blend of tradition and raw edge that I've been looking for.

I really miss the edgy, too bad we can't find another Joe Ely, Willie and Waylon or even my all time fav Nitty Gritty dirt Band type. I guess the Nashville industry has a mold and if a preformer doesn't fit, it's the round file for them.

Okay I've ranted enough.

Paul Rodgers

There she stood in the street
Smiling from her head to her feet
I said hey what is this
Now maybe baby
Maybe you're in need for a kiss
I said slow don't talk so fast
Don't you think that love can last
She said love Lord above
Now you're trying to trick me in love

All right now
Baby it's all right now
All right now
Baby it's all right now

I took her home to my place
Watching every move on her face
She said look what's your game baby
Are you trying to put me in shame
I said slow don't talk so fast
Don't you think that love can last
She said love Lord above
Now you're tryin' to trick me in love

All right now
Baby it's all right now
All right now
Baby it's all right now

I really can't believe what I read in the emboldened type above. I could understand me saying something like that from an unbiased standpoint but my God you are one of her fans. Relax! Don't get feisty. You should have left the red highlighted part out. Going into this season I had no favorite. I still do not have one. You have me leaning. Meg darlin if you read this please go back and look at your video from last week. Your delivery was weak and you seemed timid. I think you let Randy's presence intimidate you. Nashville is no place for the weak or timid. Don't do it again. Be strong in who you are and stay true to yourself. Use that camera and flirt with us babe don't be shy!!! Make it special and make it personal. You go girl! Hush the naysayers and go win this thing.

Artist/Band: Ely Joe
Lyrics for Song: Me and Billy the Kid
Lyrics for Album: Best of Joe Ely

Well, me and Billy The Kid never got along:
I didn't like the way he cocked his hat and he wore his gun all wrong.
Well, we had the same girlfriend and he never forgot it.
She had a cute little Chihuahua till one day he up and shot it.
He rode the hard country down the New Mexico line.
He had a silver pocket watch that he never did wind.
He crippled a piano player for playin' his favorite song.
Yeah, me and Billy The Kid, we ain't never got along.
Yeah, me and Billy The Kid never got along:
I didn't like the way he buckled his belt and he wore his gun all wrong.
He was bad to the bone, all hopped up on speed.
I would've left him alone if it wasn't for that senorita:
He gave her silver and he paid her hotel bill.
But it was me she loved: she said she always will.
I'd always go see her whenever Billy was gone
Yeah, me and Billy The Kid, we never got along.

Instrumental break

Yeah, me and Billy The Kid never got along:
I didn't like the way he buckled his boots an' he wore his gun all wrong.
One day, I said to Billy: "I got this foolproof scheme.
"We'll rob Wells Fargo, it's bustin at the seams."
I admit that I framed him. I don't feel no remorse.
It was just my way of gettin' even with the man who shot my horse.
Yeah, Billy reached for his gun but his gun was on wrong.
Yeah, me and Billy The Kid, we never got along.

Well, me and Billy The Kid never got along:
But I did like the way he swayed in the wind while I played him his favorite song.
Now my baby sings harmony with me, to "La Cucaracha".
She winds her silver pocket watch and pets her new Chihuahua.
I moved into the hotel, I got a room with a shower.
We lay an' listen to that watch tick hour after hour.
Outside, I hear the wind blowin' oh so strong:
Me and Billy The Kid, we never got along!

We never got along.

Thanks ARN I liked the lyrics!
Did you miss the point? I wasn't saying Meg didn't have the pipes or the style, heck I like her TONS.
I was saying the business end of Nashville just won't let go of whatever it is they think is the next,
BIG same old thing. I may be a little bit upset with that but 'oh well'!
Seems to me that the truly big stars are the ones that held true to theirselves and did it the way they felt. George Strait, Willie Nelson, Waylon, Joe Ely come to mind when i say that.
just my opinion though!

The business of Nashville had their say week week one now it's about who gets the most votes. It's a popularity contest. She can win! Country music is open to a lot of interpretation these days probably more so then ever. Cowboy Troy crashed through and so can Meg. BTW I like that song you posted too!
