Sorry Randysgirl, I didn't see it...

What is everyone's opinion of the A-Rod situation? I think the actions of a kid will not let him in the Hall of Fame...All his numbers and records are corrupted...

No problem about not seeing the pro bowl. It's not nearly as popular as the Superbowl! After I posted that comment about the game, I was reading something online that made me wonder if I had been cheering for the wrong team! blink.gif I get the AFC and NFC confused, and I was really surprised that the Seattle Times didn't mention much about the game in the sports section on Monday. But I just checked the NFL site Official NFL site, and I was correct. The NFC did win and the Seahawks and Cowboys teams were both part of that, so I feel better now!

Okay, onto A-Rod news. OMG, the sports page today was overflowing with stuff about this moron. I'm sorry but I've disliked him ever since he left Seattle for Texas. There were probably 10 articles about his steroid confession today and they all basically said the same thing. I should cut him some slack, I guess. He did admit that he took the stuff, so I guess that's something. But maybe not. I didn't see the interview, but the paper seems to think that it wasn't all sincere. I think he really tanked himself and ruined his reputation, to be honest. The paper showed a grid of his stats with all three teams... Mariners, Rangers and Yankees and now I know why his stats with the Rangers just shot up the way they did. Even with the Yankees you could see that the stats went down a lot. When I'd watch the Yankees on TV, he was striking out and so forth a lot more than usual. I just thought maybe he had deflated his ego a little bit. I think Texas should fine him big time or something. He says he only used them in his three years in Texas, so who knows. But still... That makes the team look bad, IMO, and I bet some of his former players (if they are still there) are ticked off at him. I don't know if they still have the same coach, but the owner should do something. However, it's been so long since he's played for Texas that I doubt it would do much good.

The one who was really stupid was Michael Phelps (Olympic Gold Medal Swimmer). I can't believe he would smoke marijuana in public and not think that some photographer wouldn't catch him in the act!? I'm glad they suspended him. I don't think his medals need to be taken away, but I bet they don't mean as much to him now as they did when he won them. Some roll model he and A-Rod are.... rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

It's pretty sad that A-Rod felt he had to use steroids to compete. I'm glad he came out fairly quickly to admit it and apologize. I'm still a fan just like I still follow Pettitte and Giambi because they've owned up to their mistakes. I'm more upset that just A-Rod's name was leaked out of 104 players. Why should he be stamped "cheater" alone? And why is Selig talking punishment when these test results were used as a stepping stone to the current testing program and the players were to remain anonymous?

His name shouldn't have been the only one leaked, but he wouldn't have owned up to what he did if he wasn't outed. I can't wait for the man to come clean with out being outed first. Then him, I can forgive.

Time to fill out your brackets sports fans...Who will be crowned NCAA men's National Champions?
JaquiMichel
Pitt will probably be the Men's champ, UConn the women's. I'm rooting for WVU to stay around. Does anyone participate in the ESPN Tourney Challenge? I fill out brackets for both the Women and Men's challenge. I'm usually a big loser but its fun to watch my ranking among thousands.

I love watching the Triple Crown. Not much of a horse expert, other than watching these three races. Incredible that a 50-1 horse won the race. Its the time of the underdog.........Phillies, and a 50-1 long shot winning the Kentucky Derby.

Here we go guys....the part two of the sports thread.....All sports discussion here please....

Bill Parcells retired from the Cowboys....any thoughts...

I love the cowboys, but I think the real topic I'd that the Pittsburgh penguins just won the Stanley cup.

Oh, I'm not underestimating the Bears....I just mean that the NFC isn't nearly as good as the AFC. Sorta like the NL and the AL.

What a pity .I've missed your hot discussion, its 2010 now . Maybe we can focus on the latest 2010 NFL schedule
tolietducky
we could also focus on the fact that the Saints are going to win tomorrow and will soon find themselves on the way to the Superbowl! lol
