Meg, I think you should really show Randy those vocals and that you can sing anything and choose an Alabama song. It would show him your voice plus show him you aren't scared to take chance. You could do a simple one "Angels Among Us" or rock the house w/ a little "Mountain Music". I think you have a great voice and song selection should not be the focus.

now THAT will be a memorable moment on the show!
Either Randy will love it or hate it! I'm sure whatever song it is you select you will nail!

Meg, just make sure you aren't standing too close... I think he might spontaneously combust. I CAN'T WAIT to hear you sing this week!
tysont
ooh, so you are singing an Alabama song this week?

Yep, I'm singing an Alabama song - but i want to be clear that this song was on my list way back in december before we had even started the show. I thought it would be fun to try one of Randy's songs - that was before i "knew" him. Now im just terrified!

I think its either going to go really well or be a complete disaster - I actually thought that maybe i shouldn't sing it this week because of what he said, but it was too late to switch. but then again, what a perfect opportunity to sing it! anyway, ive commited and im doing my best to make it my own. just following my gutt and praying that i'll get some good feedback.

lots of deep breathes this week.

thanks everyone.

I vote for 'go really well'!

The key thing is that you WILL get to sing it!

remember, breathe... relax... breathe... relax...
lovethemusic
Awesome-I think it will be wonderful. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
tysont
I vote 'go really well' also! Atleast Randy can't complain that he doesn't know the song!! haha. is it one of their well known songs?

"take me down" - is that well known? i have no idea. i thought it was a cool song that i could arrange meg-style. smile.gif

I dont want to sing something too mainstream like he wants me to do... Its just not me. I love a lot of "popular" music, but it wouldn't feel right if I went up there singing "independence day" or something like that. anyway, working hard on getting my game face on!
tysont
ooo I know that song! one of my favorite's from Alabama!
megallison
ok, just realized that the above message was under my roommates name - sorry! i swear that im not "iknewmegbeforeshewasfamous" - im just using her computer. smile.gif

see, im just not computer savy enough for these message boards.

Meg, Take Me Down is a very popular Alabama song! There is a great version of it on their "Live" album. Good luck!

Meg,
I think you did a great job on Oh Atlanta, to bad Randy judges on whether he knows the song mad.gif instead of the performance. Maybe Alison Krauss could guest on the show and y'all could sing it together. Meg, stick to what makes you happy. I'm sure there is someone out there who realizes what a great voice you have and how you'll help put talent back in the country music industry. Good Luck

meg allison don't be terrified!

if my best friend randy gets you terrified

don't look at him just do your song and sing away show him you have talent and want it more

than anyone else

this is the best advice i can give you meg

but i am voting for you

you have talent meg and he has to see that meg

so keep rocking hard at your best

you really have talent for singing

i like your voice

sincerely wendy lee
