I was very impressed with Rickiejoleen's performance, yes, she has talent, but, as the judges said, first impressions are everything. In Rickiejoleen's interview, it was like she was proud of dropping out of school and not getting her education. I give kudos to the judges for letting her go. Maybe she will realize that singing isn't everything, and she has nothing to fall back on if it doesn't work out. Please do not take offense to this...nobody's perfect, but I think people may have taken her more seriously if she hadn't made that issue so clear in the beginning. That's something I would've kept to myself. On a separate note, the fact that she didn't use her whole name like everyone else...I think that gave people the wrong impression of her...like she was better than everyone else or something. Well, that's all. Take it as constructive criticism.

I have to agree. This child seriously needs to be in school. Her interview was very troubling to me. That's a horrible example for other teens and I can see why the judges would do just what they did. I'm still shocked that she made it on to the show in the first place given her situation.

Well no, actually this forum is for USA viewers and Nashville Star fans. If a contestant can't take the criticism, she shouldn't take the stage. The little girl has talent. Her attitude and life experience need a bit of adjustment.

the judges were right. she has a long way to go before getting a deal.

One thing is for sure...practice makes perfect. Even athletes should have something to fall back on if they suffer an injury and cannot play anymore. Having a high school diploma and/or college education is something to fall back on if other plans don't work out.

Best of luck.
