Okay, although i may not agree that she's better than goren, i'm not ganna turn this into a debate, or whatever....Are we putting down reasons why we like eames? if so....here are mine:
Alrighty, i love eames, because she is just so darn funny. I LOVE her sarcasm. Mainly because i am probabaly just as sarcastic as she is. I love someone who can get away w/ being sarcastic in a setting where things may not always be....i dunno, uhm...happy? (i.e. Having to investigate a murder isn't exactly good, in the sense that they probably shouldn't have died in the first place.) I love how she and goren match up. He'll be over there doin' his sherlock thing, while she's makin' fun of him, or saying some remark that we only wish we could say, such as something to the effect of how he knows all this stuff. And i love how she can handle her own. She's not just an asset to accent goren. And yes, while i believe that either of the two wouldn't be NEARLY as good apart, i believe that she can definently hold her own, as goren did while she was on maternity leave. Just thought i'd start this thread off with great points!

well i'm a fan of both, i like how she's unfased by goren's ummm eccentricities, other people will look at him like he's a space alien and eames is like and what's your point

The funny thing is is that you're right. She oftentimes has to try to explain Bobby's....ummm....different behavior.

and she has such a deadpan delivery that when she explains bobby, she makes it sound normal

I know, she sort of just says, "oh, never mind about him....he's always like that." I wonder if people pity her for having to put up with him. Most people wouldn't be able to do that.

they probably think she drew the short stick when she was partnered with him, but i think it's obvious she digs his "gorenish antics"

I think through time she's come to respect him for who he is......which tells you alot about her. Most people would just give up, but she's learned to actually enjoy being his psrtner.

I like them both the same but i love Eames better probably because i can relate to her better than i can goren. I love her because she is witty and funny at the same time and that is hard to come by and her sarcasm goes into being funny and her wit i am sarcastic just like like eames like if someone dies on a show i got well i hope they can id the body and i get away with saying it and i say other stuff sarcasticly too and i never get in trouble. Her and Goren match up perfectly they act like brother and sister together even when he is doing his sherlock homes or pocking at a dead body she makes fun of him but deep down she really cares and respects him i honestly would like to know how he knows all the stuff he knows cause half the time i'm looking at him like huh come again. Eames really knows how to use a gun and handle her own.
I loved it when she goes to this one women don't mind him he's OCD i was like no kidding he has obsevive compualsive disorder. she sticks up for him when noone else will and that just proves how strong of a relationship they have together that she understands him better than anyone else can.

I LOVED EAMES IN HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREETS i was shocked to see her play a bad guy with AIDS.

What season and eppy was she on?

In all honestly fabi i have no clue what season or epsiode it was i cought it with only twenty miniutes left and i was just caught her and i was like that's eames it was a christmas epsiode if that helps.

anywho.... I got to say i now being the proud owner of all the CI seasons on dvd have seen season one and absolutely love Alex's face when in Jones Bobby comes up with the idea to pretend she likes the guy! lol so funny even you Goren fans have got to see it! it's fun to watch!

I remember that look! It was funny. They said something like "We're gonna need the right bait" and they all looked at Eames. Her facial expression is so funny.

i think Eames got a larger part in albatross actually. She had some funny lines.

I am a huge Alex fan, but I swear, she has to be the most underused lead in the history of television. I don't know how to explain this - I mean - look at Blind Spot. Yes, she was kidnapped, and escaped - but it was still mostly Bobby. His emotions were explored IN DEPTH. The whole Bobby/Declan stage - the final confession. All Bobby/Jo/Declan = Alex was filler. Don't get me wrong - she did fabulous with what little she had - she was awesome. But for crying out loud - I wanted more Bobby/Alex. And I don't mean romance - just interaction

Oh well - she does have great lines, sarcasm, etc. But I'm such a greedy fan - I want more depth cause I KNOW Kathryn Erbe can deliver.

Just a thought but what if they did an episode when the real sabastion came back? We could see some great Alex/Bobby interaction then!

Eames would be pretty stressed cause while she was kidnapped she thought it was sabastion and Bobby well he would feel like he had to get this guy.

Bringing back Sebastian - Now THAT would be awesome. I just love Bobby and Alex together and it doesn't have to be romance and kissing. There interactions could be as deep as Mulder and Scully - the looks, the little touches, the silent communication - there are sooo many opportunities squandered and they wouldn't interfere w/ the story line at all. The Xfiles carried it off for most of their run (not the last of course). Hunter and McCall did a fabulous job being friends and being allowed to care about each other deeply w/o delving into romance. Hunter was allowed to care about McCall, but he ALWAYS respected her abilities and didn't try to fight her battles. She gave as good as she got and still looked good. Why the heck can't they do something about Kathryn's hair always in her face - she's gorgeous - don't try to hide it. I love Kathryn and Alex to death - I just want so much more for them - they deserve it. I feel like they dangle these little tidbits for us and then leave us hanging. ARrrGGhhh

I want more KE on screen but season 6 is doing a much better job and i'm really liking it!

I do think it compliments her face - but it just needs to be a bit shorter. Her make up is different and the wisps of hair are distracting to me. I almost wouldn't mind her being a little less blonde - I thought she was gorgeous in "Stir of Echoes" - her features really popped w/ the dark hair.

I just really wish they gave her more to work with. I don't think she needs to be glammed up or anything, but - well, here's an example. And forgive me for not remembering ep titles (that's my weakest link). The ep with the photographer who was killed by the artist who was murdering the women and then the famous photographer doctored the photos to hide the wounds. Anyway - the scene where he is on the street and Alex comes up to have her photo done, pretending she was new and alone in the city. I think wardrobe, and hair and makeup really dropped the ball on that -

Superficial, I know - but as I've said - Kathryn is so much more beautiful and it's like they don't think she can be a tough as nails detective and still be just a little more feminine or softer.

Now, on an aside - poor Mariska Hargitay has been all over the map on hair and makeup. For a while, they made her w/ so much make up I thought she might suffocate. Mariska is definitely someone where "less is more" applies.

Kathryn deserves so much more from the writers - and hey - maybe VDO wouldn't be so tired ;-)

I agree eames needs more screen time even though she is recieving alot this season which is awesome!


I liked her hair in the first and second seasons when it was really strawberry blonde and in a bob cut. imho

I totally agree - S1&2 hair was gorgeous - fuller, beautiful

I like her haircut that she just recently got, it was in brothers keeper. She has a few little peices of hair that are like bsngs, and it makes her seem more perky. After Blind Spot, her hair sort of looked, i dont really know how to explain it, stringy not really, but sort of not trimmed. So, in TWAH, it sort of gave her a Everything is out of whack, look. Which was cool, because it fit the episode, but it made HER seem out of whack, which made me nervous.

Anyways, DanaBenson, you are brilliant. All you said about Kate Erbe not being used enough is exactly right. She is such a good actor and they need to balance the show out. VDO is also amazing, and one reason I'm not liking the 6th season as much is because he hasn't interagated the perp. He needs to bring them down!!! yeah, thats annoying me.

To me, it seems like Goren is bringing Eames down, because in brothers Keeper (DB, last weeks ep) the scene where Eames was talking to the boys gardian, she was awesome. that is the scene that sticks in my head.

you are so right she was really awesome in that scene. if goren would have been there I don't think it would have worked.

DB i agree a MH i didn't like the earlier seasons but i think season 6 hair is the best! and season 7 hair then 8 hair are the next best!

This is my first post.... YEAH!!! I am addicted to Law and Order both SVU and CI. Just when I thought I had seen all of the episodes.... there is another one!!
Rerun or new...No matter... I've gotta see it. I'm not much on forums but I wanted to show my support for Law and Order.
