before tonight I had never watched nashville star, but happened to flip by CMT and decided to give it a try. I was thoroughly bored by the first 4 performances, untill rickiejoleen lit up the stage. following my joy from her act was sudden and needless spirit-crushing torment as she was promptly given the boot.

was I the only one who seemed to notice that rickiejoleen sang with more feeling and connection to the song than the other 4 combined? she didnt just prance about the stage and smile for the camera, she told a story with emotion!the crazy lady sitting next to blake shelton sure seemed to miss that point. she's jealous. I would be too. that girl gives up her childhood to do what she loves and live to the fullest, and thats the response she gets? not cool...not cool at all!

to the woman who inspired me to spend 5 minutes creating an account on this forum just so i could vent, i say this: thank you.
