Just got a call from Nashville, I can't believe they voted him off on the first show. I'm so disappointed and shocked. I can't even say anything else I'm so bummed out.

How awful! I liked him!!

Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn! I haven't gotten my phone call with the update on the show yet, but I am not particularly surprised. They realized Tim had way more fans and fan appeal and he just might get in the way of whomever they want to win. This SUCKS!!!!!!

There goes the show... if there ever was one! sad.gif

It figgers... he isn't 20, doesn't look "the part". Has an actual personality! Probably too hard to "mold" into a generic bubble-gum corporate drone.

I can just see Analstacia now with her whiney bitchy "I just don't see you as ever being a NashVegas Star"

I was afraid he would get the boot early, just like Shy Blakeman from last season (but I never thought he would be booted off the very first show). That sucks.

I'm stunned. I didn't think he would be gone this early. He was the only one I was really interested in watching.

bummer sad.gif ...sorry Tim. I think WVG is right. Tim is so likable that if they have a winner picked already he would certainly seem like a threat to their plan.

yup I have to agree.

RIGGED SHOW!!!!! mad.gif
JulieCatlett
I have to agree that they had already decided who they wanted to win. Just looking at the commericals and webisodes Tim never got the same amount of play time as some of the others. I don't know who the girl was, I'll ask my husband when he calls this morning. He said that one of the male judges made a comment about being distracted by Tim's hair and guitar playing. I'm not sure what that means since both are awesome - maybe he was jealous? Anyway apparently whomever the female judge was ripped Tim apart. I'm really glad I was too sick to see that debacle in person, it would have broken my heart. What a scam. I feel so badly for Tim and Vicki.

On the brighter side, maybe they figured Tim had enough charisma, talent and skills to go it on his own and not need the Nashville Star crutch. That's the way I'm going to look at it - they would have just held him back with a bogus contract anyway. I'm betting just being on the show will bring interest from recording companies looking for more than the latest pop star, or someone who looks like teen-appeal. Tim is in it for the long-haul (remember that song?) and he will outlast the bright flame that flares from this show and disappears in a year. And we'll still get to see him play up close and personal for awhile longer. smile.gif
silverado
If this is really true, they just lost all credibility. There were only 3 that deserved to be in the finals and Tim was the best one. Still hoping this is wrong. The viewing audience would be cut down by 3/4 without TIM. I sure wont waste my time watching it without TIM LAROCHE. This cant be real.......nashville star will never be taken seriously again!

I'm confused!!!! I thought there was no voting until the premere which is Thursday right!!!! and we the veiwers were voting then.....or am I wrong! I hope this isn't true!!!

Kat, the taping was the show that worried me. We'll never know whether or not Tim could have actually won once the viewers started deciding, but I think Tim would have gone a long way if he had been given the chance.

OK, I'm a poor sport, mad as hell and rather sorry I bought a plane ticket for the final show.

Just out of curiousity, I added up the posts for all the other contestants. All of theirs combined is less than what Tim's forum has. Apparently the voting public isn't important to the show mad.gif !!!!

Tim is one of the "interesting" CHARACTERs. He would have made the show fun, a la Matt Lindahl. I agree with Julie that his flame will not be extinguished. Age and hair length worried me about Buddy on the first season Bo Bice on American Idol. But fortunately for those two, the "voters", not judges/producers, were allowed to choose.

Hopefully the exposure and fans that Tim has gained from his Nashville Star will help further his career.

The judges were taking off either one or two contestants the first night (heard different stories) just like they took off Jewels last year. From here on out the viewers will decide, but with Tim gone....who cares mad.gif ?

I plan on taking it one step further. I will watch the episode with Tim in it, then the channel will be removed from my tv's menu. I will post more later once I get my thoughts in order and have calmed enough to do so. Right now, I'm still in shock that the Idiots in Charge would turn a blind eye to the contestant with the largest fan following and online fan support. WTF!

I don't wanna lose touch with y'all sad.gif. You could always join me in the General Forum as I "evaluate" the performances of the other contestants.

ok so what is the deal? can someone that was there verify any of this info? I have been to Tims myspace and his website and everything still says vote for me thursday. and for anyone asking, yes he has been online today so it could have been changed. the only place anything says he was booted was here and that might have been started by one person. (dink if so) (lets hope that was the case). so somebody, anybody tell us what is the deal. if you dont want to post it just message me.

I haven't gotten my phone call yet either, WVG.

Shy was my early favorite (along with Chris) last year. I was PI$$ed when he was voted off, b/c he actually was SO entertaining and GOOD. I was really afraid that Tim would fall into that category. As soon as I actually get my call, I'll post details of it.

Unfortunately in this case, early breaking news on this board is usually quite accurate. It appears that the news came from someone who was at the show and does not seem to have any reason to make up a story.
JulieCatlett
My husband was at the show along with lots of other people. He called me during and after the show and this morning to confirm the sad news. There is no way either of us would make up anything like that. Tim is not allowed to say anything about the show so obviously can't post it on his own website but he did talk to the folks who came last night and seems OK with the decision.

I heard a little of Tim's performance last night when my husband called from the show. It sounded great, though punctuated with my husband's very loud yelling it was difficult to tell much - and they only get a minute and a half so it's hard to make much of an impression in that time. I am sure once people who were there have traveled back home they will post their impressions on here. Apparently at least one of the judges liked Tim as he handed him a card and said he wanted Tim to play with him.

This morning my husband told me it was supposed to be kept a secret until the show - oopsie - guess he should have told me that last night. I have conveniently forgotten the name of the other person booted for her privacy though.

I've always hated TV anyway but now I've got even less of a reason to watch it.

You sure got that right!! mad.gif
Kicking them off before we even get to vote is a crock of sh!t. I hated it when they did it to Jewels last season, and if they booted two....why bother with audience participation at all?
THIS SUCKS!
Nana4
I totally agree with you FS....I just didn't think it was fair last year to boot Jewels before anyone had a chance to vote and now they have already booted two more. True, they got some exposure but it only seems fair to let the audience vote for them.
silverado
I agree with whoever here said it......This is supposed to be the peoples choice and clearly 'the people' want to see Tim LaRoche. I think something should be done to change the way this show operates. If They dont, Nashville star is going to
fizzle out. I saw all 10 people sing and there is NO WAY Tim would be off the show unless it is RIGGED. 7 of the people do not even come close to the talent Tim displays. I will watch the first show to see TIM but thats it for me. I had to upgrade my cable just to get this channel but i wont keep it now.

RIGGED

Very sad. Thought Tim would bring something quite interesting to the show.

This is what I don't understand. Playing the guitar was apparently one of Tim's strong points, and they ding him on it? That's crazy.
JulieCatlett
The song Tim played was ideal for showing off his awesome guitar skills but did little to nothing to show off his voice. Apparently they are looking more in the direction of singers and less in the direction of talented musicians. That does not mean that Tim isn't any good or messed up on the show - I know he can sing, I hear his music everyday in my house, we play his CDs all the time. There is no doubt in my mind too that Tim's best work is his own, I think he is good at playing covers and I know that's what most people want to hear, but I like his own work much better and prefer to listen to that over other people's. I'm looking forward to seeing what doors this opens, I mean if he and Willie Nelson are already exchanging songs who will be next to bring Tim aboard? Regardless, I'm glad he had the opportunity and will get his 1.5 minutes of fame on Thursday.
Northfield
I had arranged my work schedule so I could see the entire show every week. Now I will watch the first show and work all other Thursday nights.

I never really got into this show before Tim was a finalist. They lost this viewer before the season even started.

I look forward to hearing great things from Tim in the near future.

I had been promoting this show to everyone I knew. Guess I have to go back now and unpromote.

It was great getting to know you all. I will keep in touch some how.

I have always liked Tim's original stuff the best as well. He does cover songs extremely well, but his stuff is better. Thanks for clarifing that your hubby was at the show. I was waiting for more info before I posted.

I am disappointed that Tim did not make the show too! He was already my favorite because he has been so involved & friendly with members on the board & myspace. I have no doubt that he is going to make it big...even with just the one night of exposure on NS. I think he is probably the most talented musically with that awesome guitar ~ but, we can still support him in other ways biggrin.gif.

I will watch the show and most likely pick a favorite before it's over. I do hope it is a good show even though our fav has maybe already been voted off. sad.gif

I am sure that the vote you mention relates to a vote that was made in some board room prior to the taping. I find that a reality based show is nothing more than a smoke and mirror show based on what they, the chosen few, believe is beneficial to their own cause. There cause being, how can we make these little puppets dance the dance we want them to dance and rake in the most money through sponsorship and add selling. How does anyone know if your votes are even being counted? Think about it!!!!!!! The calls probably go to a phone center in India. I am sick and tired of being duped by corporate america and more importantly, our government. Didn't George W. win a presidency through the electoral college, but loss the popular vote and still became president. This must have taken alot of money, don't you think? I'm tired of being lied to mad.gif . If someone is to ask me if I'll be watching the show, my response will be just once, then I'll be cleaning the toe jam out of my nails for the rest of the series. rolleyes.gif

I'm going to start with Warner Brothers, Sonic and Cheverolet. An e-mail to these corperate sponsors regarding the manner in which "Nashville Star" misrepresent to the general public, that they have a say in the ultimate outcome of this show.

I know Im going to get slammed for this.. but I was at the taping and the above statement is very correct... I was looking forward to hearing Tim sing because I know you'all had such high hopes for him, and he seems to have a GREAT fanbase... but he didnt sing, he played... very little singing.. and voice talent is the main thing needed to be the winner..and what most everyone wants to hear from the contestants........ its too bad.. I was looking forward to seeing/hearing him every week. His guitar playing was AWESOME!

here goes the bad part... I agreed with the judges decision.. for both folks that got "booted"....... mellow.gif

Sorry to hear this I really liked Tim and he was so nice on myspace :-(
docjameson
10 really great performers
3 average judges
combined with
the world's worst producers = sure disaster!

No one should have been voted off the first show. Way too much time, energy, and sacrifice were made by all. This show is all about ratings ... not talent. When did this become a vocal competition?? It is too bad we never got to compete at the musicianship level or the songwriting level. Perhaps that is why we NEVER hear ANY previous Nashville Star "winner" (and I use the term loosely) on the radio!!

Nashville Star is the laughing stock of Nashville's Music Row. Warner Bros didn't even bother to release the album from one of the "winners".

The only problem with that is nobody will be watching it. 98% of the fan base was there for TIM and if he is gone, the show is pretty much over. Nashville star is not what i was expecting.
