is there gonna be a new permanent ada to replace carver or will it just be rotating adas?
i actually hope they don't get a permanent one, i think courtney b vance was very underused
i think goren is such a fascinating character, his eppy rightly are goren-centric
logan has such l&o history and the new dynamic between him and wheeler needs to be fleshed out
also the new adversarial relationship between goren and ross needs room to grow
i don't think there's room for another premanent character to be given enough screen time to earn a following

I liked Carver but he was grossly underused. And more Carver would have meant less Goren/Eames so there's the payoff.
No, I don't think a new permanent one is needed. They can just call in an actor/actress for a day if they need one in a scene. There really is no room for court room scenes. The end of a CI ep is usually the interrogation.

I agree and it also balances out better too. You have the orginal which centers on both. Then svu which has more detective but still is both, CI which is all detective and TBJ even thought its cancelled it centers on the adas. so in the end it all works out.

I've always liked the interplay of the Ada's.
Somehow Sam Waterston seems to have a larger role and none of the other cast is overshadowed by him. I think it would compromised the essence of the show with "Order" being the second part of the hour.
I would however like to see the "Law" cast in the court room at times during the trial and this could tie in all of the cast.

Carver was good in some ways but i wouldn't get a replacement. He was needed though for ITWSH which i don't think would of worked so well with a visiting ada.

You're not the last poster anymore.

Carver was underused, mostly because LOCI isn't like the other L&O shows where we get to see the trials and what happens to the perps. LOCI is all about Goren catching the perps, the interrogations. I think that's one of the reasons Courtney Vance wasn't brought back, because an ADA really isn't needed.
Theresa Randle as ADA Kent was only supposed to appear in three episodes, and from what I've seen she's been underused too. She was onscreen for Logan and Wheeler to ask for a warrant, and I remember one scene when she answered her cell phone about something trivial i can't remember. Maybe we'll see her one more time in Season 6, but if not it's no great loss.

I'm a bit disappointed that ADA Carver left. I thought it looked a little lack of plot without him in CI. I kind of miss him.
