the only time i ever saw vdo in action before CI was his small role in JFK, so i identify him most as bobby

i saw Claire Dolan this weekend, WOW! he doesn't show up until about 30 mins into the movie, but he packs a punch when he shows up, shows a softer side to vdo, graphic scenes so mature audiences only, but if you get a chance rent it
benson
I seen him in a sew movies out side of CI like Mystic Pizza, Feeling Minasota, Dying Young, Men in Black, The Nuton Boys Melcom X, Happy Accidents, and Full Metal Jacket, and the one i loved him most in was Full Metal Jacket he was so crazy and he had this domimonic look on and it's like Ahh run he's lost it even though he was a jerk in the movie you actually felt sorry for him boy he put on a lot of weight for that movie it's a 1986 movie it's really good .

I figured I'd move this post over here. It's a good discussion thread and we can all try to put any VDO/KE movie sightings on it.

Mystic Pizza on Lifetime 1/13 at 3 pm
Adventures in Babysitting on Oxygen 1/19 at 7 or 9 pm
Men in Black on TBS 1/27 at 6 pm
Fabi
Anyone see Desire aka Salt on Our Skin? AWESOME!! I bought it on ebay and loved it...it is quite the tear jerker. He also rocked in the Cell but I cant stand J LO and Vince Vaugn sucked as a serious actor. Oh, thumbsucker was ok.
How was happy accidents? I also have feeling Minnesota on my list to watch....

Was it you that posted about the Cell being on tv? Maybe that was a while ago.
yankeesfan
The Cell aired Dec. 28...so yeah, that was a while ago.

i recently watched "whole wide world" and he was perfect in the role of bob howard. it's a different kind of movie, so it might not be for everyone... (chick flick, perhaps?) but if you like the wild and animated bobby on l&o:ci, you'd probably like this. the extra features has an interview with renee zellweger and the director where they gush about vincent. it was cute. smile.gif
bik
oh... duh... i've also seen "case of evil" or whatever it was. CRAP movie. d'onofrio makes a good, eccentric, and flamboyant prof. moriarty, but it certainly wasn't as entertaining as watching a l&o:ci episode. sherlock was a complete drip. his drippyness may have run off on our vincent for this one.

pooh. not recommended unless you're just looking to do some oogling.

and there's nothing wrong with that. smile.gif

Just in case anyone doesnt already know, you can go to www.imdb.com and search under an actor or movie. It also gives personal stats and trivia...my fave is the section where they have the goofs.

I dont think there is enough time to watch all his movies (there are a ton!) So I just go by what others have commented on.

BY the way! He did a movie called The Velocity of Gary in which he plays a bisexual porn star who eventually dies of aids...apparently not his best movie but some really hot guy on guy action with Thomas Jane (you can find it on youtube) I cant believe how versitile this guy is, you never know what you will get.

I cant wait to watch the Homicide; life on the streets eppy with him.

My son was surprised at the variety of movies VDO has been in and that he hadn't realised that he was Bobby Goren from LOCI.

My personal favourites:
BARK - DR MALCOLM. when he first appears you're wandering who that weird guy is in the background.
THUMBSUCKER -MIKE COBB. Love the interaction with the son, especially at the end.
NEWTON BOYS -The film lifts up a notch when DOCK arrives on the scene.

Special Mention:
MIB - EDGAR. A 'What the..' riveting performance.

All Time Favourite:
FEELING MINNESOTA. SAM CLAYTON deadly sibling rivalry wilth Keanu as Jjaks.

Standing Ovation:
HOMICIDE. Life on the Streets. SUBWAY Episode. JOHN LANGE. Brilliant portrayal of a doomed man.

I love the part in men in black, where "Edger" goes back into the house after the alien puts on the Edger suit, and asks for sugar water... that part has got to be one of the funniest parts in the movie.(and for those of you who don't remember, Edger is vdo's charecters name in the movie.)

My family actually calls CI "Edgar," as in "What time is Edgar on?" or "Is there a new episode of Edgar this week?" because of that.

I was somewhat young when i first saw that movie, so whenever i saw vdo, i would say "Look! It's Edger!" and ppl would be like, "Who is Edger?" only my mom knew who i was talking about. When i was really little, that's how i would remember actors and actresses (sp?) was what i first saw them in. like Pierce Brosnan in Dante's Peak, he was "Dante's Peak Dude"

here is a link to the thumbsucker trailer.....I like how he uses a bit of the Goren "lean"
hope it works
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318761/traile...play-X31811-6-3

if it doesnt work I think it is the 6th trailer listed.

Oh. My favorite all time movie of his is Happy Accidents. I especially like the part where the parents are like, "Where did you go to college?" and he replied, "I didn't have to go to college. They injected everything I needed to know in my forehead when I was two." The looks on their faces was hilarious. My favorite fit on him would have to be Naked Tango. I think that look gave him a very...hmmm...sinister appearance. Scared me very badly, I'll tell you that. Didn't even recognize him at first. I can't believe he shot himself in the head in Full Metal Jacket. But, knowing me and how he was treated in that movie, I probably would have too. Okay, I'm going to stop before I get too carried away.
benson
my favorite movie of him is full metal jacket i love it i feel so bad for Leonard aka pyle i almost cried when they beat him with soap and he stated crying i cried with him and i cried when he blow his brains out i was like oh my goash he actally cracked. now everytime i see him on CI I am like he was on full metal jacket.

So far I have watched Impostor, Happy Accidents, The Whole Wide World, Cell, Dying Young, Mystic Pizza, 13th Flr. I vote 1.Happy Accidents 2.Impostor 3.Dying Young as the best movies for me! The first time I saw Vincent was CELL. smile.gif

I don't know if Comcast has the same programming in all areas, but I'm in Michigan, and Mystic Pizza is on the "Free Movies" list for On Demand right now.

And for anyone who hasn't seen it, there's a nice shot of Vincent in tighty whiteys for all us lady fans!
karraselle
Has anyone seen The Salton Sea? It stars Val Kilmer and VDO has a strong supporting role as Pooh Bear, a coke dealer who's done so much of the drug he has actually lost his nose!

Vincent is GREAT in this one. I LOVE Pooh Bear. He's menacing and funny at the same time. Rent it. Watch it. Look for the scene with the pidgeons...hilarious!

i just watched dying young over the weekend, he doesn't have a big part but he's the best part of the movie

I saw previews for a movie called Bark..looks pretty funny!

I just bought Happy Accidents a couple of weeks ago and I have Mystic Pizza and Homocide: Subway on tape and I've yet to watch any of them. I need a kick in the butt to get myself in gear and watch. Now, with the new eppy club, I'll have to watch "One" Sunday. Another excuse.

'HAPPY ACCIDENTS'
The first I saw VDO on LOCI commercials and in 'Thumbsucker', urged me to see his other movies. I started with 'Happy Accidents'. I loved Marisa Tomei in 'Only You'! It was all about this young lady who had troubles with her boyfriends. Ruby was uncomfortable with bunch of unworthy geeks. She met this man, Sam' (VDO), who was nursing a disabled gentleman. I love him in this role! He's awfully sweet, tender and caring! She was told that he was from another time. Future. The funny thing was they had this spat over a mysterious lady named Chrystie Delancey, whom Ruby thought was Sam's girlfriend. It was a little bit funny the way Ruby chased him out of the room. She thought Sam must be delusional, or probably high, but she wanted to keep him so much. You might not have seen this movie yet, so I will not include the best part. VDO was like an innocent child in this role. wub.gif

Maybe you need the same kick in the butt I obviously got...the past few weekends, I've been on a Vincent movie rampage! Since I just watched so many, I have fresh thoughts...

Happy Accidents: Just watched it this weekend. I was thinking it was going to be too much of a love story for me to stomach, but I was pleasantly surprised. Super cute! Like Enaka said, he was absolutely adorable in ths role, so awkward and curious. Loved it...need to buy it.

The Cell: Wow, he's really good at playing creepy. The movie as a whole was a bit weird for me though.

Full Metal Jacket: Watched that one this weekend too. I had just seen it about 6 months ago for the first time, before I discovered my VDO obsession. When I realized it was him in that role though, I wanted to watch it again. Too bad he was only in the first half, cause he's really good at playing crazy too! On a side note, it must be nice to be so tall because at 5'4", if I had to gain 70 lbs, I'd look a heck of a lot fatter than he did!!

Thumbsucker: Pretty good movie, but nothing I would need to buy. The kid (who was also in Cruise to Nowhere, season 5) and him had good chemistry together as a father and son. I think it's interesting that there are a handful of people who he has been in movies with that also have guest starred on CI. And that there are a few actors who he appears in multiple movies with...like Vince Vaughn for example.

Men in Black: By far the funniest of his performances that I have seen. I could watch that over and over...it really shows his physical abilities. Some of those weird movements, I don't even know how someone can move like that!

Mystic Pizza: Decent movie, and Vincent looks pretty hot being all scruffy in it. Also see tighty whities comment above.

Adventures in Babysitting: I think I watched this movie about 500 times when I was a kid. So I love the movie. He's only in it for one scene and his hair is not okay...but if you want to do some major drooling over his muscular arms and tight jeans, it's worth watching!

I think those are all the ones I've seen. There are a lot that I think I will have trouble finding to rent (the Blockbuster by my apartment sucks), and I'm always hesitant to buy unless I know I like the movie. But overall, I am just fascinated with the diversity of roles he's played. And no matter what kind of role it is, he just has this magnetism, which is apparently what got me hooked on LOCI in the first place. What an amazing actor...

Ok everyone! Kick me in the butt and maybe I'll do some serious viewing!!

I did see Adventures in Babysitting last week. I saw that movie years ago too but now was just watching for Thor. It's funny that the Goren/VDO sensativity thing comes out when he talks to a child. I think he looked great in long blonde hair and more to the point, I think it was filmed after FMJ and he lost all that weight.

I saw Mystic Pizza years ago and don't remember it well enough to think of VDO's role.

After I watch all that has built up in my house, I want to catch Thumbsucker. It should be interesting to see him and the kid from Cruise to Nowhere.

I end up buying most of these movies on Amazon Marketplace. The Blockbuster by me doesn't have any of these movies. Also it costs almost $4 to rent, and I can buy them for $5 or so and never leave my house.

I watched MIB on Saturday. Amazing!! I have a hard time seeing VDO beneath the makeup.

You guys MUST see Salt on our skin with his first wife Greta Sccachi. HE LOOKS HOT! and it will tear you heart out. It is hard to find but I bought it on ebay. OH, he is a beautiful man!

Thanks for the info on Amazon...are those pre-viewed since they are so cheap?

Yeah I was wondering about the timeline on Full Metal Jacket/Adventures in Babysitting. Either he gained or lost that weight real fast, because they are both dated for the same year.

MIB...there's only one scene after he's in the makeup where I can come close to seeing it's him. Good makeup job! And thanks for the youtube link Fabi. He's so cute in interviews.

Okay, Salt on Our Skin is next on my list, if I can find it.

'Velocity of Gary'

I knew I’d recognized actress Salma Hayek (as Carmen) from ‘Once upon a time in Mexico’ with Johnny Depp. She previously played as VDO’s character ‘Valentino, the bisexual, adult film actor’. Valentino, also, had a relationship with his acquaintance named Gary. Gary and Carmen were like uncivilized kids fighting over Valentino’s attention until the terrible day Valentino was diagnosed as HIV positive, and they end up re-uniting each other. Honestly speaking… they sent me a WRONG movie. ‘The Whole Wide World’ was next on my list, NOT this one. This movie sent me off to a lullaby land. AWFUL! sleep.gif VDO’s acting skills are worth than this. He deserves a BETTER story. His movie, ‘Feeling Minnesota’, was more accurate. smile.gif

i know this is kinda out of the blue, but still on topic....I just woundered what you guys thought about VDO in men in black? I absolutly LOVED the part in the begining, where the roach had just put on the "Edger suit", where his wife or girlfriend or whatever said "Edger, your skin's hangin' off your bones" And Edger pulled his skin back, and said "Is this better?" Haha, i thought that was just so funny. It was really entertaining to see him play such a wild charecter....what did you guys think?

I loved it too, BF...My favorite part is actually before you see him...They show the outside of the house and you hear him complaining to his wife inside..."The only thing that works around here is my G** D*** TRUCK!!" Then the space ship streaks out of the sky and destroys the pickup! LOL laugh.gif
