After reading all the posts about Naked Tango, I've GOT to find that movie!
amazon has the naked tango, but I like VDO but not for $80 dollars.

Wonder why that one is so expensive. I checked out Thumbsucker and you can get it at Amazon for $2.99 used. The prices go up from there, but not very expensive.

Naked Tango is extremely hard to find and routinely goes for upwards of $150.00 on ebay. Not the best plot of any movie I've seen, but VDO is
SUPER HOT in it.

Yes, bug, I had noticed that, too. Not knowing for sure what year Thumbsucker came out, if the eppy came afterwards I had wondered if VDO was especially fatherly toward him in LOCI because of the movie. Although I realize it would have been more up to the writers as to his response to him on the LOCI ep.

The movie was made in 2005.. or maybe that's when it came out.. made earlier.. anyway.. it was marvelous!!
I watched because VDO was in it and I like seeing how he portrays different characters.. but I got so enthrawlled with all the characters!.. No villians here.. just people trying to get by...people thinking *what if* probably everyday.. and we see thier lives through the eyes of this teenager. I loved the realization at the end. All the actors we eccellent,, I especially like the scene in Justines bedroom when his dad came in actually looking for some solice as Justine had searched for the same from his dad.. I think that was the turning point in thier relationship. ( I wonder if his dad ever found out what he feared wasn't actually so?).. I like to think so... this was really a nice movie.

What I found interesting was how the mother worshiped this Actor played by benjamin pratt, how she wanted to meet him and how he turned out not to be so perfect. Didn't use a fork or something else to try to get drugs out his rectum? and ended up bleeding from the rectum. I don't recall, but she had to come in and save him.

thats pretty funny, karr. poor dejablue (like your name), hope you dont take itpersonally, its helpful to me, because i hadnt seen the other posts and now i want to see thumbsucker and cruise to nowhere, which i have probably already seen, just dont remember,so i will look it up.
i was writing this (look down) on the off topic thread because lauren was talking about his movies, then decided i would put it here instead.
to laurengoren:
also, happy accedents is a really good one to see, laurengoren (i just like typing your name out because i like it. that was a complement) i think that movie is very creative in the way of the filming. this is kind of sad, but i watched the whole commentary thing, and apparently they did all the filming by hand/shoulder.
i also watched steal this movie, and loved it. vincent is truely a great character actor. whole wide world is good too, its really interesting because he acts very similar to the old goren, with his hand movements and spurts of energy. so, those two, i think you and everyone alive should see.
i believe those are all the vincent movies ive seen, wait no, i saw advenntures in babysitting, and laughed my butt off. he was only in like a five minute scene, but oh my god, it was great. you should see that. i watched the whole movie though, also just slightly sad, but less so because it was an okay movie. you really should watch that, its so funny.

I really wasn't sure where else to post this .. but i just watched *Rich in Love*.. if any of you are familar with it you know it stars a very young Kathryn Erbe. filmed in 1992 and It is delightful.. she is surrounded by such notable actors as Albert Finney, Afre Woodard, Jill Claybourn and others but she is definitly the star. It's set in the south.. and let me tell you.. I cringe!! at movies set in the south because I know I am gonna hear some horrindous southern accents.. and .. I was not wrong this time either.. except.. Kate's was pretty darn close.. the most believable of all.. but the movie is terrific.. if you get a chance.. you gotta give it a look.

My fave movies are Mystic Pizza The Newton Boys but the other ones i have seen Full Metal Jacket, The Cell, Strange Days Men in Black The Salton Sea are all different in their own ways i must say i was a bit disturbed when i saw The Cell and Strange Days of the role he was playing.
But on that note it shows how much a talented actor he is of doing all these films and how much characteristic he puts into them

I thought you may be interested. Until now, I have seen VDO\'s height listed as 6\'3\", 6\'4\", or 6\'5\" (depending on who and where I looked). VDO is quoted below as saying it is 6\'4\".

D\'Onofrio\'s Happy Outlook
by
Is actor Vincent D\'Onofrio bitter that his new romantic indie Happy Accidents — featuring his turn as Marisa Tomei\'s unsettlingly quirky suitor — only just hit theaters after sitting on the shelf for a year? Hmm... could be!
\"If I say what accounts for the delay in the film\'s release, then I\'ll get in trouble,\" he explains mysteriously. \"A big company [expletive] us.\"
Truth be told, D\'Onofrio doesn\'t really concern himself with such extraneous details. In fact, unlike many of his peers, the star of such varied fare as The Cell and Steal This Movie doesn\'t even give much thought to what impact his choice of projects will have on his career. \"Obviously I haven\'t set out to be a superstar,\" laughs the actor, who stars in NBC\'s Law & Order: Criminal Intent this fall. \"I do things for the sake of doing them. But I make really good money!\"
While most of his cash comes from brief but scene-stealing roles — like his incognito alien in Men in Black — the Brooklyn native still credits his success to director Stanley Kubrick, who gave him his big break as \"Gomer Pyle\" in Full Metal Jacket.
\"I was so lucky to get Full Metal Jacket and have my whole character-acting career set up like that,\" he says. \"Let\'s face it, I\'m a 220 lb., six-foot-four Italian guy. I barely get away with what I do now!\"

Happy Accidents was such a cute movie, and one of the first VDO flix I'd seen in which his character didn't croak.
My fav VDO acting stint outside of LOCI has to be in Homicide:Life on the Street, the "Subway" ep. I know it's not a movie per se, but he was SO good in it. I cried the first time I watched it.
I thought he was gonna be this sympathetic character right off the bat, and instead he's snarky.
VDO really deserved the Emmy nom he got for that ep, imho.

The movie would have been better if it had no plot! It was very weird and the only good thing about it, IMHO, was VDO. He danced throughout the entire movie. He walked doing the tango, he fought, doing the tango. I just know if there was any other actor in it, I'd be hysterical laughing throughout (or for as long as I could watch it)!
