Hello, my name is Justin M., and, having discussed this idea with quite a few people, I've decided to take this idea public.
In Shawn's resume he says that he has been a regular vendor at the MLB all-star game, I can just picture, (if MLB will allow the use of the name), a murder at workout day, (the first official all-star day), then a murder on the day of the home run derby, and finally the perp being caught on the day of the game. I can just see a scene in which Shawn tells Gus about his amazing 14/15 success rate in throwing peanuts successfully to customers, and another scene in which Shawn catches the perp by noticing that he has the same exact glove that a disgruntled customer had two years before. The title of the episode would be
2 strikes and your out.
Anybody else think that this is a good idea? I'd like any opinions. If USA actually runs an episode similar to this one I'd like to at least get my name put in the credits, that'd be so cool!

Ha! I think that's a totally awesome idea for an episode! And it would be so cool to have your name in the credits!

I really like the idea. I think that it could use a some fine tuning, but I'm sure the writers could do that. I really like the title, too!

Someone who writes the show should look at this.

Have you thought about writing fan fiction? You could do something with that.

That a very good episode idea!! It sounds like it would be hilarious, I can picture it already. I hope they do run an episode like this...maybe you should write a letter or something. Good luck with hopefully getting your episode on t.v.!

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I really appreciate it.
I'm pretty sure that USA Network is allowed to use MLB in it's shows as there was a Monk episode about a baseball player trying to break the single season homerun record.
I really do hope that someone fairly high up reads my idea and uses it, I was wondering if the Admin could tell me if any of the writers ever check the board. I purposefully didn't say all of my ideas because I feel that the writers of Psych are amazing and could come up with better ideas, but I seriously think that my main idea would make a great episode of Psych, even worthy of being a season finale! I especially like the title I came up with, it fits perfectly with the titles of previous episodes!
EDIT: My main idea could be changed a bit if the idea of murder happening at a ballpark is not condoned by MLB. The people could be kidnapped a la the Shawn vs. the Red Phantom episode, or there could be threats that the police don't believe but Shawn does. I just feel the potential!

why not write a script for it and send it in?
I'm sure they probably have lists of basic episode ideas though...here is a story of caution
I published a fan script for the Office (US version) on fanfiction awhile ago...it was a full length episode based around the idea of a drug test being required for everyone in the office.
People on fanfiction seemed to enjoy the humor and the story overall....and then the next season of Office guess what...a drug test episode! One specific joke was even used from mine (Jim avoiding Dwight as he walked with a jar of urine in hsi hand) not to mention the whole premise. The date on the publishing of it on fanfiction is several months before the airing of the drug test episode and before they shot it I believe. Of course it could just be coincidence. It actually upset me because I mailed the script into NBC as well. I am an amateur comedy writer and really was hoping for some luck and to get a break.
Most likely it was a coincidence and they already had the idea...but hey...writers are human. All it takes is glancing at the title or the first page and seeing the premise. It's been in the back of my mind since if they stole my idea or not. I'll never know. Really blows too. If the writers actually did see my script it sure would have been nice to get a shoutout in the credits at least...but nope.

It must have been rough for you to endure having your episode idea hit the screen without you getting credit, but at least you yourself know that your idea was good enough to make network TV! That must have been at least a little bit encouraging!
Anyways, I understand that writers might not acknowledge that I came up with the premise if an episode of Psych is aired with my idea as the main plot, there is still the POSSIBILITY that they will. I truly hope they would at least. Anyways, if my idea DOES get aired, (here's hoping!), and I'm shafted, (here's hoping not!), I'm sure that everyone here would acknowledge that I came up with the idea and contact USA execs on my behalf?

I mean, all for one and one for all among Psych fans, right?

Thanks again everyone for the kind words, I'm taking this opportunity to both bump this post AND add another idea.
Shawn's fake Garret Anderson home-run ball could be stolen and lead to Shawn filing a stolen item report to the police. I can just hear the snide comments Lassiter would make upon seeing Shawn filing a stolen item report to the police. It could also be a set-up to the villian in the episode as he could be involved in whatever the main villian is doing. You could also make that person the main villian of the episode but I'd have a hard time making that work in a full length script. I'm sure the main premise of the episode that I outlined in my first post could work though!
Comments, critiques, praise, etc. are all appreciated.

i think this is a really good idea, you should write up a script for it and send it to USA network c/0 Psych, or C/O Steve Franks!!!!!

If you want to send in your script and avoid datafiend's experience of having the idea stolen and stuff, you have to do it professionally. You need to hire an agent and send the script to USA through the agent. Your agent will ensure that you get the right credit and compensation. That's what I'm looking into with my idea.
Good luck. I really like your baseball idea!
