Anyone heard of plans for any kind of return maybe in the form of a movie ala "The Pretender"?
jagfan101
Hmmm.. No I haven't??? Have you tried googling it, or trying to search if there's anything up in the air for it??

i wished they would. i loved this show and nevered missed it. i hate that the reruns are on so early in the morning. i wish they would schedule them later in the day.

In a recent interview of David James Elliott by Rachel Thomas, About.com

Q: "Any future plans for a JAG reunion?"

David: "I haven't heard of any, I can't see that happening."
KatRose
The reason "The Pretender" got the MOWs is because their story wasn't finished to the satisfaction of the producer or the network, but the network wasn't willing to invest in an entire season so they opted for a couple of MOWs instead.

As for JAG, I seriously doubt it'll ever happen. The show was written with a nice conclusion, there's really no need to go back and rehash any of it. I know many shippers would like to see a wedding, but personally speaking, I'm content with the send-off it got because, for me, Mac left Harm because he didn't like being a civilian lawyer in San Diego and wanted to get his Navy commission back and wasn't willing to compromise on that to give Mac her due as top dog in her career.
Brumbyrocks
I feel that it would be good to have a JAG movie, however as we all know in the last episode, Harmm goes to London, and MAC goes to Santiago, although it would be good to have a spin off season with Harm in London, what do you all reckon eh

Actually we don't know what happened after the coin toss at the end of the final episode. The answer was left up to each viewer.

I've always hoped the coin stood on edge, or rolled down a grate, or something. IMO it would fit.

IMO it's very plausible that neither Harm nor Mac in the end could give up his/her career, so each went off to their new destination where they perhaps even found their true soulmates. I'd especially be disappointed if Captain Rabb had to settle for San Diego and civilian life.

Here's how I think the show ended. Harm and Mac moved to London where Harm kept his job, and even though Mac didn't go to San Diego she either joined MI5 ( England's version of our CIA) and worked in joint US/England counterterrorism efforts or she went to work for Scotland Yard, or she became a hugely successful and popular lawyer in London where she handled huge cases. I'm a romantic, I like to think they got married, had great careers where neither one had to sacrifice their career fulfillment for each other, and they lived exciting, adventurous lives in london ( i.e. just like the all the Russian epsiodes they did.) I like Harm and Mac together because I believe in couples finding a way to be together, for those who hate happy endings, well shoot me, but you have to admit, I just gave you a great storyline to continue the sage. That's my ending and I'm sticking to it. cool.gif

I think there has to be a jag movie. Without one there is no real conclusion. I am a true romantic and the lives of mac and Harmon's characters are not really resolved without one. tellen

thats not true about what you said becouse mac and harm were getting married we just didn't know who gave up

I think it'd be nice if there was a movie based loosely off JAG with Harm and Mac, and cameos from the other cast members. Maybe it could take place a few years after their marriage and we could see who ended up giving up their military career. I really love the show a lot. Too bad its over =(

I'm not sure I'd like a movie either....

It would disappoint me if Mac had to give up her career shy of getting her 20 years and her own pension just to move to London with Harm....there's not much Mac could do in London, I don't think she could practice Law, and given the fact that Commands are still relatively few for women, I'd love to see Mac keep her command.

That being said, I agree with Katrose that the ending is satisfactory....sure I'd liked to of seen more of a courtship and a little romance, but hey it also could've been very easy for the producers to keep them separate, have Harm fly off to London, have Mac go off to San Diego with nary a handshake...or worse yet, one of them could've been killed.....

The ending to me is where everyone can see what they want...the non-shippers can say that they didn't work things out cause neither wanted to leave the military and they went their separate ways...Harm fans can cheer for London, Mac fans can cheer for San Diego, shippers can say they got married and the General found a way to keep them both in the military...the options are endless.

I'm afraid if there was a movie it would have the two either being divorced or separated, or worse yet one of them dead. I honestly don't think that the actors would do a movie, they've put in their time with JAG and have moved on to other things. That's not to say they aren't grateful for JAG, but they are expanding and taking on new challenges.

I can live with the ending, for me they are residing happily in San Diego, where Mac kept her command and Harm is an aviation instructor still with the Navy.....

Well, they did announce they were getting married...the coin toss was to see who gave up their career. I watched the toss over and over pausing it to see who won...but the frame that it stops on...is neither side of the coin. So I believe its left as a mystery, which I liked more than them saying who gave up what.

the bst way to look for any movies coming up or even movies that are ideas is to go to a website called hsx.com this website is a stock exchange for movies, i have been a member for years. it is more like a game, all vertual money, no real money is exchanged, totally free to join as well. anyway, it is a great website for movie stuff.

You know peacetime, I like your ending for the JAG movie just as much as mine. I'd go for that, as they are both residing happily in San Diego where Mac kept her command and Harm is an aviation instructor still with the Navy. I like that one too. Hmmm.....that sounds very interesting. Kudos!!! cool.gif

I couldn't find any info about this yet, but I think it would be nice if they had a movie of this!

It would be sooo great if they made a movie. After reading some of your posts, don't think I did see the last episode. Wasn't sure before this. I was watching on USA and then it started over, I felt like I missed something & I guess I did. When & how can I see the rest of the episodes??

This is my ending also. They are happily married and residing in San Diego. They both still have their military careers. I mean theres no law against military officers getting married is there? Harm just turns down the assignment in London, and they remain in the USA, where they will retire from the military...together!

i agree with you on that kat the episode ended with the toss of the coin and no one knows if it was actually heads or tails... so it was left up to the viewer to decide..

so i could decide that mac was the one who gave up her commission and joined harm in london...
or some one else could decide the other way
wouldnt it be nice to actually have a reunion to know for sure... smile.gif

i agree with you on that . . . and no one knows If

Today's the day our younger son, is going off to war
Fighting the age-old battle, we sometimes won before
Flags that line ole Main Street, are blowin' in the wind
These must be the flags - of Freedom flyin' (Neil from War)
- - -
If Liberty was a little girl, watching all the flags unfurl
Standing at the big parade, how would she like us now?
We balance the power, from hour to hour. Giant guns rage
It's such a long walk home
It's such a long walk home
It's such a long walk home. (Neil from Life)
- - -
I was travelin' with my family, in the Mideast late one night
In the hotel all was quiet . . . kids were out like little lights
Then the street was filled with jeeps, there was an explosion to the right
They chanted "Death to America" - I was feelin' like a fight.

So I ran downstairs, and out into the street
Someone kicked me in the belly, someone else kissed my feet
I was Rambo in the disco; I was shootin' to the beat
When they burned me in effigy, my vacation was complete. (Neil from War)
