Sure.

What about the other stars of Monk? Is that the same address for them?

Thanks.

I sent notes to both Traylor and to Ted at that address (with postage-paid envelopes). I received an autographed photo of Traylor (it took a lot longer than 6 - 8 weeks, but I think she was out of the country at the time).

Haven't received a response from Ted, no matter where I've sent the letter ...
Raven
Thanks admin...that is the address I used recently, and I received my photo back signed in about 2 months!
spinner
Do we need to send a photo or will one be provided? Thank you.
USA_Admin
No, you don't have to send in your own photo (though I suppose you could if there was one you really liked).

The address may or may not work for other cast members. Tony is the only one that I can confirm takes his autograph requests at this address. I'll see what I can find out about the others.
alex455
I have one question. I live in Poland and if I want send to him a letter...when would I get answer? I'm international fan...don't forget that...
monkfan3
Yeah, what is the adress to mail him an actual letter?
Raven
I think you can mail him a letter at that same address. I enclosed a letter with my photo of him, and he referred to something I wrote in the letter when he signed it.
241178
I WANT a Tony Shalhoub autograph!!! I've sent Raven a message asking for her help as if anyone can help me get my hands on one she can as i am useless at this stuff!! . "monkette"
USA_Admin
Okay, I can confirm that the address will work for the rest of the Monk cast. You can send regular letters there as well, but remember that if you want to receive an autographed photo you absolutely must include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Raven
That's great! Thanks!
241178
Thank you.....i'm going to definately send a photo off to be signed....i don't care how long it takes once it gets back to me. Have tried to find a photo of Tony on ebay but had no luck so i will have to keep on trying.....as soon as i do find one i will send it straight off to be signed . "monkette"
cujo
Ok, here's the thing...

Today is the first day of fall, and you know whats right around the corner??? You guessed it, Christmas! Can you think of a better idea for a present or what? If you have someone who is a Monk fan they would like this, or better yet, we just have the present sent to ourselves! Yea!

I would like one of the whole cast!
kees_lady
Autographed pictures or fan letters, yeah!
Raven
We can send Tony his birthday cards to that address. Now we know that he will actually see them! I've already sent him mine...
kees_lady
What a terrific idea Raven....
jezebeljack
i think i've got a problem--no--i know i have. i am from germany and i went to the post office today where i got the "hint" that they don't do return postage. the only way would be an international reply thingie and THAT's only available in their e-shop.

https://www.efiliale.de/efiliale/katalog...&navCount=5

so, how do i get postage on my envelope??? i can hardly use german stamps, and they don't sell american ones over here.

please help me, it's my 30th on monday and this year i really would have loved to ask for an autograph, as my own special birthday gift. but it looks as if i ain't gonna get it

hugs
~jj~

edit: can i send money?
i have just figured out the postage rates to europe and it would be around 0.90$ - so if i included 1$ --- would that be enough? i'm kind of tenacious i know
MonkFanToo
Don't feel badly...all overseas MONK fans have the same problem: they cannot purchase U.S. stamps where they live and the USA Net says that IRCs (international reply coupons) are NOT acceptable--have to have U.S. stamps on the 9" X 12" brown clasp return envelope!

And since the envelope is large and the autographed picture will be inside it, you will need to add a $1.80 U.S. funds in STAMPS (attached to the envelope!) to cover up to TWO ounces being returned to you via air mail!!

The only solution I see for overseas' fans is to be adopted by U.S. fans who would be willing to front the envelope with the overseas' fan's return address on it and $1.80 in U.S. funds for the U.S. stamps...

Are you able to get U.S. one dollar bills/notes to send to someone here in the U.S.A.?? You'd need at least $2.00 dollars in U.S. funds to make your dreams come true and get an autographed picture of Tony...

GlassBell
Hi. FYI: Stamps can be ordered from the USPS: http://www.usps.com/ And they do ship these orders internationally. I cannot figure out where on that site the international stamps are , although the postage could be made up of any smaller denominations. The site also has a contact form for questions.

Also, I was thinking that postage for such an envelope to Europe would be the standard international letter rate of $.84 for up to one ounce, but you say this envelope might weigh up to 2 ounces (according to the postal site, at a rate of $1.65 to Europe)? That's still quite reasonable.

--------------------
MonkFanToo
Hi, Glassbell!

Has anyone actually ordered U.S. stamps from the site you mention who lives overseas?? I would imagine paying for $1.80 U.S. funds in postage stamps would be quite a hassle (not to mention there might be a minimum order of $5 or $10 U.S. funds in stamps required), especially if one does not have a credit card which handles international exchange rates--and always for a fee on top of a surcharge... Cripes! International fans (Europe, Australia, New Zealand) would be better off working with a U.S. fan who could adopt them and get the show on the road for them!

Yes, the "up to two ounce" rate internationally (for the large sized clasp envelopes) is $1.80 U.S. dollars in postage (up to one ounce is .84¢ U.S. funds in postage for business sized envelopes) via air mail. To get the color 8 x 10 glossy autographed pic ANY FAN has to send a 9" X 12" self addressed and U.S. postage stamped brown (or white or yellow or whatever color) clasp envelope as the cast probably do not want to bend and fold a glossy 8" x 10" into thirds to shove into a business sized envelope and mail for just .84¢ U.S. funds in stamps/postage...

Canadian fans have a bit of the same problem, but it is a tad easier for them to secure U.S. postage stamps--plus the rate for "up to two ounces" to Canada via air mail is only .90¢ U.S. funds in stamps (the up to one ounce rate is .63¢ U.S. funds in U.S. postage stamps). U.S. funds postage rates to Mexico ARE THE SAME as the one and two ounce rates to Canada...

I suggest we just each who can do, adopt an overseas MONK Fan and help them to get their autographed photo!

--Lee
GlassBell
Hi Lee! )

No, I don't know anyone who has ordered them. Oh yeah, you're right, payment at the USPS site would be another complication. But people overseas frequently order from US companies, so maybe they can tell us how payment is usually handled.

Thanks for the clarification about the postage amount--so the envelope size makes the difference.

(And yep, I've already adopted a couple of needy overseas fans. )

--------------------
MonkFanToo
Hey, Glassbell!

Yes, the size matters but also the weight is critical as well! I have weighed the 9" x 12" brown clasp envelope with a glossy color 8 X 10 inside and it DOES weigh out at OVER an ounce!! And even a fraction of one tenth of an ounce pushes the postage up to the next highest level! But in the case of the color 8 X 10 photos, it is very much OVER one ounce anyway...

I volunteer to adopt jezebeljack
and have already PMed her about it! Glassbell, you said you've also adopted overseas' fans--could you add one more--our 241178 from England poster here on the bboard is also keen but most frustrated in seeking/getting an autographed photo from the show!?!?

Raven
I'm in the process of trying to help 241178 get her photos. I got 2 from ebay for her but they are rather big, like 11 by 14, and I'm thinking they are just too big! I have to contact her. Does anyone think this size would be a problem? I was going to mail them to her so she can then fix up her return envelopes and mail it to Tony.
GlassBell
Hi, sorry I'm late responding. Well, when you write to that LA address they send a photo anyway, don't they? Let me know if 241178 needs more help ;-). There are several ways to do this:
- we send the person overseas the stamps, then he/she sends the request him/herself
- the person overseas orders the stamps, then sends the request him/herself
- we request and have the photo sent to ourselves, then forward to the person overseas
- we send the request ourselves, but with the person's address and overseas postage on the return envelope
The last would seem to be the quickest, most direct way.

Yes, there is a great color 8 x 10 glossy of Tony as MONK given free with his autograph...

I did not know that Raven has gone way above and beyond in assisting 112478! My hat's off to Raven!

I totally agree that mailing the request from the U.S. for the overseas' person is the fastest, cheapest, and best way to go... I do suggest a stiff photo mailer envelope though for the larger sized photos (because the e-Bay photos are larger) and then get that weighed for return to the U.K. via air mail (IT WILL BE MORE THAN $1.80 U.S. funds in postage though--but worth it I am sure!); then simply slip that S.A.S.E. larger stiff photo mailer in to a larger brown clasp envelope to the studio for the person overseas... Plus, it also saves the person overseas the extra postage cost of first having to mail EVERYTHING to them (when reimbursement is being figured) for them then to just MAIL IT RIGHT BACK TO THE U.S.A.

So, never mind, Glassbell--Raven has it covered, but it's nice to know you are there if needs be!

--Lee
Raven
I just pm-ed Monkette to see what she thinks of your way to do it, Lee. If she wants to ad a personal letter to Tony it may still be faster and easier if she mails that to me and I include it in the package to Tony.
The ads I got her are super! They would look stunning framed.
MonkFanToo
Sounds super! What ads are they? I thought they were simply larger photos!? In any case, hope it all works out well given your great efforts on behalf of 112478! Perhaps you and Monkette will let us know how this story ends!?

Cheers!
Lee
Raven
It was supposed to be 2 emmy ads...they sent one that was on ebay as promised but the second one is different than what was posted, but I actually like it more. I wish I could let you see them somehow. Both have excellent images of Tony. They measure 11" by 14". I have only been able to find for the return to England envelope, one that is 1/2 inch too narrow, but I'll go to Mail Boxes Etc tomorrow, maybe they have a better size.
MonkFanToo
The ads sound great! If Mailboxes, Etc. (which is now The UPS Store) doesn't have the right sized photo mailers, you might try a photo supply store or a photo studio (where they take your pic or your family pic), or even FedEx/Kinko's (which used to be just Kinko's but now is owned by FedEx and has tons of mailing supplies)!

Your other option is to USE A MAILING TUBE!! Since the ads are on newspaper paper, right (?), they may nicely roll up into a tube without any damage at all!! How did the e-Bay seller send the ads to you anyway?? Could that pack be re-used with just a new mailing return label? But if you go with a mailing tube (available at the post office, The UPS Store, FedEx/Kinko's, other places), you'd need one for the return and then perhaps a bit larger one to send it in with the autograph request and fan letter to the studio... Good luck with what ever route you decide to take!!

--Lee
jezebeljack
thank you guys, this is such a great solution for us people from overseas! it's just kind of funny that in this age of globalization things like that are still an issue...

hugs
jj
Raven
The ebay seller sent the ads ina tube, but I've found 2 padded mailing envelopes and one will fit into the other, so tonight I'll be putting it all together and mailing it tomorrow!

Hey!
i'm new to the borad and I'm just 16 years old and have been following MONK ever since the first season!
I was wondering if you think its possible to get back autographs from all members of the cast before the holidays? I'm wondering because I would like to give them to my dad for a gift, but dont want to invest money if i wont be getting them back.
Thanks!

All you can do is try. It's hard to say if you'll get it back before the holidays but since that's about 2 months from now I think you have a good chance. I'd hurry up and do it though. Good luck!

If you just send Tony a photo-mailing envelope with your return address on it and all postage paid on it, with your letter, inside another larger envelope addressed to him, he will sign a photo that he has there and mail back it to you in the postage paid photo-mailer envelope.
We did it differently because some people had their own photos for him to sign. That made it more complicated.
MonkIsTheCoolest
thanks raven . i had a look at usps.com and there are so many kinds of stamps. please can someone tell me what i need in my envelope? how many of what kind of stamp i will need? and whether i can send one envelope with one self addressed envelople and get signed pictures to me of monk, natalie, stottlemeyer, randy, and dr kroger all back in that one envelope or will i have to include 5 different envelopes.
Raven
The envelope that I got for Tony to mail Monkette's photo back to her in Essex cost $6.75. This was for a large envelope that measured 11 inches by 14 inches. So would it work for you to just get $6.75 in American airmail stamps there? That would certainly cover it. You would also have to fill out a customs form too so that it can go overseas. That they attach to the envelope for you.

Now your last question I don't know the answer to. You could pm the admin and ask him.

admin do you know about my last question? or anyone?
USA_Admin
I would say that the odds of all the cast members being able to sign autographs at the same time are unlikely, and that you would have to wait an extremely long time to get anything back in one envelope, and may never get anything back at all.

Wow, I can't believe how hard it is for some people over seas to get an autograph! It's great the way people here are helping them. If anyone overseas needs any help mailing anything, I am available to help as a go between.

It took me almost a whole year but I have really nice autographed pictures of all the cast except Sharona because she left. I had to send each one a fan letter with a stamped return address envelop but I got them all.
