I don't want to give any spoilers, but I can say that I think it will be the CUTEST Monk ever!! :-) The boy who plays Young Adrian is a tremendous actor and does a wonderful job of being "Monk-ish!"

If done brilliantly, we should get a good amount of pathos from this one as he contemplates paths he may have taken.

as usual i only hope the captain is in it. he hasnt missed an episode yet this seasonette, so im afraid this may be one he isnt in. are we supposed to get a clue in this ep?

I hope they show Ambrose as a kid too. The interplay between the brothers as boys could be good.

I can't wait- however judging from remarks monk has made inother eppys-- he was NOT treated right by other kids- soooo i know i will be po'ed on monk's behalf- in election he talked about how he played " keep away" with theother kids(however monk did not even realize that the kids were dogging him out)-- in Back to school- he asked sharona if she was one of the popular girls-- then he kinda gave her some hindsight as to how he was treated when he pointed out a kid being picked on then---so i KNOW they are probably gonna piss me off- but oh well- i expect a LOT of laughs as well as some good moments

How far back will this go? Maybe we'll see Adrian's dad with five fingers on his right hand, destroying my theory. But if he hides it for the whole episode...

I don't think it'll show his father. He left when Adrian was 8, and I'm pretty sure that Adrian is about 13 in the episode. I'm just going by the kid's voice though. (it's cracked, or at least the clip I saw it sounded like it) unless they just used the kid because he would be a good actor.

Or if his mom or someone refers to his dad as Frank.

I wonder if there will be other flashback episodes like partners Adrian and Leland or Monk and his old partner from "Employee..." I'd like to see those...anyone else?

I noticed on the aol webguide, it says that Monk is on at 7 pm. Friday night. I hope this isn't a change!! Anyone?
I admit I am biased, but I think this will be the BEST Monk of the 4th season :-)

According to the USA schedule it's still on at 10:00pm eastern time, but please remember to check your local provider and listings. For instance, here in San Francisco you could have a 10:00pm pacific time showing on Comcast's USA feed, but if you get DirecTV like I do it's simultaneous with the eastern feed at 7:00pm.
USA is having a Monk season 3.5 marathon early in the day. Here's how that schedule looks (all times are eastern):
06:00 AM MR. MONK AND THE RED HERRING
07:00 AM MR. MONK GETS STUCK IN TRAFFIC
08:00 AM MR. MONK AND THE KID
09:00 AM MR. MONK GOES TO VEGAS
