I'm not a big fan of suspenseful/mysterious minor characters just for the sake of mystery.
Do you think the writers will ever re-examine his purpose/role/agenda or will he just be forgotten?
I know basically everything that's been said on this board, so don't rehash that. It's in the wikipedia entry:
# Matthew Ross, (deceased) lobbyist in the Collier organization who advises Shawn after Jordan Collier's death. Matthew runs the day-to-day business of the 4400 Center and it is hinted Collier gave him specific instructions of what to do. Recent episodes suggest that Matthew knows more about the 4400 and Jordan Collier's assassination than he has revealed. When Isabelle Tyler was contemplating suicide, Ross told her she was nearly invincible, but offered her a drug or toxin that he claimed would kill her. Where he got this and how he knew it would work remain unknown at this point. In a later episode, a similar drug or toxin was given to Tom Baldwin from the future in order to kill Isabelle. Matthew is later killed by Isabelle through an instant stroke, after revealing that he is possibly from the future, his agenda being in line with the 4400-opposed faction which the future representative told Tom about; this side wishes for the timeline to remain unchanged. It is revealed shortly before Ross's death that, right after Isabelle's rapid aging, Ross had told her that her mission is to eliminate the 4400.

I am not sure, but it would certainly be a relief. I am not a fan of mystery for the sake of mystery either, and his role was certainly unclear.I would like to know where Matthew was from, who he worked for, and what his true agenda was. He went from being the ubiquitous 4400 Center PR guy to the secretive, yet knowledgeable manipulator of all things Izzy.

The writers have made Matthew a human MacGuffin, and I vote we give Isabelle some promicin and send her to their office.

Hahaha! We wouldn't want to do that though! She'd kill them before they could explain! And THEN she'd kill us when we would kindly ask about their answers!

"THEN she'd kill us when we would kindly ask about their answers!"
At least we'd be out of our misery, Zippy. Besides, don't you know the old saying? Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back. We'd return from the dead just like Jordan...wait a minute. I don't want to come back like that...I think I'd look funny in a beard!

Hehehe! I would too! And I doubt my church would take kindly to my Messiah act.

On t'other hand, it would be a good excuse for us to take a day at a spa...do some shopping...I always did want a pair of Manolo Blahniks-I could get them matching collars and we could walk them down the street...
Wait a minute, them Blahnik things are shoes. I must have blahniks mixed up with llamas or something...Ah, well, we'd still look good.

You're weird! In a good way! Haha. We should start a new thread: "What would you do if you came back to life?" "I'd go to Disney Land!"

I'd bite into a York's peppermint patty and get a sensation.
