I'm sorry. This could be completely out of the water, due to the fact that the clip of Apirl was shown afterwards but remember when Kevin Burkhoff and Tess came out and said a man with Alzheimers was checked out of a Hospice by his daughter? I don't know, this could be a really stupid theory but wouldn't it be somewhat plausible that April has the ability to heal? If you remember in Eppy 1 when Diana calls her father she says something along the lines of "It's Diana...you know? Your daughter." Sarcasm could have been used in that to express the fact that she didn't get along with him but I seriously doubt if I thought I would be killed by what they originally thought was a comet I would use sarcasm in order to reach my parents. I don't know. A theory. April could have healed their father. Kinda silly, huh?

!!!!

You actually might've hit on something! That never even crossed my mind! And even if it is a totally out there theory, you've given us another idea to bat around a bit!

Well, there's no evidence to support your theory, but there's nothing against it either. It could be a real interesting plot twist-imagine if the new healer is not some anonymous person but April! I think it would be so cool and it would really add some dimension to the story of the 4400. Plus it would be so great for April-what if you're right? Then if I was a writer, I'd want to make her and Jordan hook up-I'm sure he'll want the new healer for Shawn. Tom will too, but the new healer might not be so anxious to talk to someone from NTAC. On t'other hand, how does April feel about Jordan? Maybe if he turned out bad she could kill him with her power and be the savior of mankind. She'd probably be happier (I'D be happier) if he was good and then she could be the blushing bride of the savior of mankind. Either way I think your idea is fantastic!

I don't suppose you write fanfic? I'd love to see this idea developed even if the writers don't snap it up. If you write something along these lines will you let me know?

Oh! Yay! I was really worried people would throw facts in my face (about the scene with April collecting her shot coming after that) but to me, it just seems a bit fitting. Jordan and April? haha, well then at least she wouldn't be so ticked off that Diana has Ben. I don't know. I do think it'd be kinda neat to see April really get involved. I mean, what if NTAC is called to take down those who've taken the syrum? Diana vs. April. *add the DING DING boxing noise here* That'd be..haha..well..I still think Diana would win. At least I would hope she would. Anyhow, I'm getting off topic. Thank you for agreeing and I'm glad you liked the idea.

I do write fanfiction. PracticalMagic672 on Fanfiction.net but I haven't actually finished any 4400 yet. Still looking for Beta's and so on and so forth..ya know, the basic needs for a first time fandom writer. lol. We'll see. If there are more responses to this post I'll consider it.

That would be lovely!

That is a nice idea, but I got the impression from Diana that the relationship was strained/nonexistent due to some past behavior. (Absentee father; abusive, alcholic?) Diana made some small side remark in the car to Tom one episode that was a clear reference to her father, and it didn't sound like there as a warm spot in her heart for him. Maybe just my take on it.

You put forth an interesting theory, but I was wondering in a slightly different direction -- I figure that either one of two things happened, either:

1) The daughter took the Promicin then visited her father with Alzheimer's and healed him after gaining healing powers like Sean, or;

2) She gave HER FATHER the Promicin because his condition was so bad that it didn't matter if he lived or died because he was already lost to her . . . and THEN whatever 4400 power HE gained from Promicin also wiped out his Alzheimers.

Either way, YOUR theory could STILL fit -- the guy with Alzheimer's COULD have been April's and Diana's father.

Neat theory on that, BTW.

slp24
oh nice twist PromicinPheak. I was assuming someone took the promicin and cured her father but maybe she gave it to him instead. I also like the theory that it might be April.
havenli22
No, I don't think it's not possible. Only because Tess told Burkoff about the healed man BEFORE April even got the shot, let alone an ability. At least, I'm 99% sure that was the order of events.

Continuity, my friend, continuity.
Svu_obsessed_chic
That actually could be a possibility. Even if she hated her father at a time like that I don't think diana would have said that to him. It doesn't seem along april's personality to heal people though. I assumed that the way they're going to get diana back is because April is raising hell with her new ability. Anything's possible though.
rockingmule
We have no idea what the order of events would be-for all we know we saw Jordan and Kevin and Tess a couple of months after the first promicin distribution. I say we get to the real important stuff, like begging Miss Scarlet to write her idea up in a story. Please, please, please-you already have devoted fans and you've only given the BAREST outline!

Er...um, actually, we have *some* idea. How about the order that it was shown on the show? If the writers were going to go down the road of April being the one who healed her father, then they would have followed the rules of basic continuity, as I previously mentioned. You don't just show the events out of order on a whim or just to throw people completely off, at least without giving some clue that things are indeed happening out of order. That's how A) you lose all of your intelligent viewers and cool.gif you lose your job in the writing business.
rockingmule
I misspoke-sorry about that, Havenli. I just meant we have no idea how long after Jordan handed out the promicin April got the shot, or how long after that the healer showed up on TV. Sometimes writers do jumble up the order of events-haven't you ever saw Pulp Fiction? I agree it's confusing, but it does happen.
Scarlet_Fever
RockingMule, if you can find me a beta I'd love to write it. teehee. Yea, I don't know. I didn't mean to cause a spat. It was just one of those things where you thought about it and decided that it kinda seemed to fit. So...next time I'll keep it to myself.
rockingmule
You'll write the story if I send you a Siamese Fighting Fish? Sorry, couldn't help myself-that's what betas used to be called and my fingers ran away with me.

I don't believe you caused a spat-I just didn't see where Havenli was coming from and I DID mispeak myself. I do think your idea is possible-maybe not plausible considering Havenli is probably 100% correct about orders and timelines, but I do think there are some other shows besides Pulp Fiction where something happens, and then they go back and show something that happened at the same time or even earlier. Usually they make it clear it's a flashback-I guess I like your idea so much I'm suspending disbelief and critical thinking and all. I really do like your thinking on this!
zipity
I agree that is an intriguing theory and I could see it the only problem being the timeline but I still like that as a possibility

And no Pulp fiction is not the only movie Inside Man, The Notebook and I'm sure there are more that was based in the "past"

Inside man was an explination of how I got in this predicament kind of but not exactly, and The Notebook was past events like a memory being read out of a notebook...

both good movies...

It was a good theory, though. I'll admit that. Of course, I had always thought that the relationship between Diana and her father was implied to be rocky and strained, rather than broken due to her father (potentially) having Alzheimers, which is why I was so keen to knock your theory. Diana having a not-so-great father was something I could relate to!
zipity
Just because Diana may have had a rocky past with her father does not mean that April did, April still could develop that ability and heal her father and we know Diana cares about her father even if they have a bad relationship. So if he were healed I think she would possibly visit him, if nothing else get some kind of closer if he has had alzteimers, just to see for herself that he is better... I know I would if it was my dad, to want to see if it made a change in him having been throu all that, or how much better he is, if nothing else satisfy my curiousity...just a thought thou..

It's a really good theory that I had never thought of. It's totally plausible, and would be a great story line. I got very excited just thinking about it. I'm with everyone else, please write a fanfic about this! I'd love to read it! Even if this theory doesn't actually come to fruition, I really hope we see Diana and April's dad on the show soon. He hasn't been mentioned since the pilot, but Maia should meet her grandfather at some point.

Certainly, but I'm guessing, even if the man is not ill, Diana must have the same relationship with him as she did with April. Ah, what was that line? "We've been busy." Diana avoids every part of her family. So we'll see.

I want to know who's going to play the man! I'm hoping it's someone with a dramatic background (but someone who is somewhat well known by the older crowd). This show is really good. It'd be nice for it to attract a larger crowd. (Not saying I'm not happy with the amazing people who are already pulled into it.)
