Full Version: I think we got our answer...

I take tonight's ep as an answer to our question of whether or not we will get a Season 6. I don't see them leaving us with this as our series finale. I think they know, and have known and didn't want to tell us until after tonight's ep. I think they wanted us to figure it out for ourselves. They said it would be based on the ratings for this year. We've had those. And this would explain why contracts have not been renewed. With things this way, Johnny goes to the Whitehouse with Stillson, and the only contracts they have to renew are AMH, Stillson and Janus. Then they can use the others as guests, if they so choose. What do you think?

I think we had better not rule out anything at this point, including getting dropped on our virtual heads.

I would like to believe you are right but realism does come into play. This was written and filmed last year. All the early interviews from the cast implied that they would be back early this spring to begin filming s6. It was only later that the mantra 'the ratings will tell the tale' started playing.

I agree, the ratings have been solid. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but I don't want to get too excited about anything right now. It was a terrific season finale.

I'm just terrified right now......I want to end this show in style! I want season 6 or however long it takes to get and ending!!! It would take at least one or two more seasons!!

Yea i just hope we get some kind of closure. The show is just to awesome to kill now.

Some one here wrote, (on some thread)
Forgive me, that i forget both the thread and poster

That if USA can't (for what ever reasons) finish the show with a proper ending ( mini-series or Season 6 and <little prayer> beyond...)
That they then turn the rights to Lionsgate to make a film to wrap up the end.
The Armageddon Arc is critical - underlying the complete premise of the book, movie, series.

But... (and although i would not consider myself usually to be 'the optimist')
I have some feeling in my heart that USA will see this through.

Let's keep our fingers crossed, and when we can't then let's just 'flood' USA with letters and requests to at give us at least S6.

Many shows have ended on a cliffhanger. So it doesn't mean anything.

*sigh* Tis true. Does anyone remember "John Doe"?
Luxorien
I so loved John Doe! Not to mention Now and Again. Brimstone wasn't too cliffhangy, but it still left a lot of plot unresolved. Sometimes I wish the creators of these shows could finish off the story in short story or novel format, but realistically I guess they have better things to do with their time.

I would think USA would give the producers, creators, etc an option to have a series finale in the future if a 6th season is refused.

NBC offered a deal to have a single final episode after it cancelled several shows in the past.

One show was that of The Pretender, but as I will explain, the creators may have got a little greedy in the end. Even after 5 years of it having no new content, there is still a fight and a chance for something new due to the success of it on DVD. It had two endings that left fans hanging. Once with NBC (they decided to try XFL Football in its place, which flopped) and then on TNT, who picked it up and ran two TV Movies to continue the story, but then they left it hanging as well as they did not offer the option for the final two movies to be made. The creatores overreached in how much time they had to finish it. There is still hope that it will be wrapped up after its 4 seasons and 2 TV movies, but it has been nearly 5 years on it.

I just hope that if given the option, the DZ will not have that same fate. I would rather just have an ep or a 2 hour "mini movie" to wrap it up rather than hopeful empty promises that just leave us hanging again.

Okay, the 4th season renewal was announced Sept. 14, 2004. So we should know something with-in the next couple of weeks, right?

Also, in Mr. Pillar's blog, he says, "I don't want to give anything away,..." That sounds to me like he is pretty confident that there will be a Season 6. Isn't that how you guys take that? I almost feel like he is reading this stuff, shaking his head, thinking, "You guys said to give you a crumb, so I did, and you still won't be happy until we come out and say,'We'll see you in June of 2007.'" Which I guess, really, is true. We probably won't be satisfied until that announcement is made.

I guess one thing I don't understand is why all the other shows were announced a week or more ago, and it may be another two weeks or more yet before we hear anything. Life just isn't fair.

Actually the fourth season renewal was released September 9 ... well that's what it says in the press release. If there is season six, something has to said by the end of September. Because they need to get started on preparing for the season as soon as possible.

Was this an answer or a prelude? Don't be too quick to write off Johnny yet! Maybe it's a chance for something much more to come in. In every darkness is a light you just mave to strike the match. Johnny's not beaten yet.
I point again to the Geode Lesson for those who don't know it. Patience was the key to finding where the truest power lies. The same message was sent in Heroes and Demons in the boy Thadeus. He found the power within himself when all hope was gone to save his father. Cancelation now is not an option! They have locked us in for the long haul. With plenty of time to send in Ideas and Script suggestions. We can save this show!
