Hi this is my first post on anything. I would like you to know ive been a fan since the first ep. I had a thought the other day should JJ have visions like his dad? what do you all think?

Well, it has been talked of. It would be interesting but it would show it might be a family trait. They haven't proven beyond a shadow of a doubt if Herb had psychic power or not. Some have talked that maybe John has the ability to awaken or activate someone's "dead zone" like he did with Bruce in "Zion". Also, Alex was able to link up her "dead zone" with John's.

Welcome to the boards, too!

Welcome to you. I hope you enjoy your time here.

There was quite alot of discussion on the boards last summer after Babble On aired. The idea of Herb being psychic or there being a Smith family trait was bandied about. I was among the minority that thought that Herb's vision from the doll was assisted by a burgeoning case of schizophrenia or other mental illness. As Bratty said, the issue was never positively settled on the series.

Our own Luxorian wrote a wonderful fanfiction story called "True Accounts" that explores the idea of whether JJ would develop psychic abilities and how. It's on Fanfiction.net.

I think the John Smith character is unique and I do not like the idea that it is a family trait in the slightest. I think his abilities stem from a unique set of circumstances and possibly tie into a predestined fate connected to Greg Stillson's rise to power.

Tis a great topic. So glad you joined up and asked the question!

Also important to remember, Johnny had psychic abilities before his accident. Before his accident, however, it appeared to be a mild version of what it was in the book; deep, instinctive feelings that were generally correct.

Following the accident, Johnny doesn't seem to get those bursts of instinct in general anymore; he relies on psychometric visions that require at least brief physical contact. I always wondered if his psychic caller ID was a form of that original instinct that would be developed, but that ability has vanished.

All this means that JJ could be psychic too. But for now, we don't know...

Not unless he is in a coma or falls hard on the ice

I agree with Ruralstar that Johnny Smith is a unique character, and although on the past story lines he was able to bring out visions from Bruce and Alex *linked* with him.
I think that *too many 'visionaries' in the kitchen will burn the bread*

So, my answer is no, UNLESS it's the single occurence with JJ that furthers some plotline.

[Sorry for my silly mood, i probably should go and crawl to my bed]

EDITED TO ADD:
Welcome, and excuse my rudeness, that im only on the end my post welcoming you and not on the start.
Where are my manners? Oi
