In atleast one episode they should (after the flashback) have Gus sitting down somewhere listening to some cheesy romatic song sing the words aloud and Shawn barges in on him, looks at him, and starts singing as well. Then Lassiter comes in and goes "What the hell.. you're completely ruining a good song."

hahahah that would be hilarious. YOu know what I think would be cool is if they did a cross over episode with Psych and Monk.

I think there should be a huge case, so huge that it's bigger than their town, so big that it involves L.A. or some other large CA city and their police department. Then what happens is that Shawn has to work with that departments' psychic. Except their psychic is a real one... or at least as real as they get. So now Shawn has to not only fool his usual police department on a bigger stage, but also some other cities' and their psychic.
and in the end when he solves the case, the pressure of being revealed makes him give all the credit for solving the case to Lassiter, which of course confuses Lassie and of course, Gus because as we all know that Shawn usually craves the attention.

That seems a bit over the top.. I'd settle for a fun dead zone crossover.. Although I'd rather see a Monk crossover.

Personally, I'm wondering if the whole idea of Psych didn't evolve from Jason Alexander's guest spot on Monk a season or two ago...
As for the psychic v psychic epi idea, that would be too similar, don't you think??
I know Jason Alexander's character was no Shawn Spencer, but it could be there that the phony psychic idea first evolved, no?
By the way, I am a devoted James Roday fan, but am I the only one who LOVED the pilot, and has found all recent epis less good? Still good, but you can tell-- it makes sense I guess-- that the writers didn't spend as much time.

I don't remember that episode, but I don't think Jason Alexander played a man pretending to be a psychic did he?
I don't think thats where their idea came from, because USA didn't buy episodes until they saw the pilot, and other networks we're looking at the show too. So I just think it came from the creators childhood, like they said, but he just incorperated it into being a psychic because they are very popular on tv now, and he decided to spoof them for originality, and to show the mind behind the "psychics"..

Since then, I have seen Steve Franks interviews in which he speaks of his father and describes their memory games.
But yes, Alexander did play a man pretending to be a psychic. It's totally worth it, catching the rerun or hunting down a DVD.

I saw the episode recently! Yeh, I think the idea was drawn from something else.. Didn't seem similar.

hiya, um, I kinda have a suggestion (don't kill me lol)
Wouldn't it be kinda cool if they have a new character come in as a real
psychic and try to take Shawn's job? In all that they can add something funny maybe?
They could be like rivals? Like a race to see who can solve the case fist stuff?
Oh, and the psychic would know that Shawn is a fack psychic, but keeps it a secret
to the police department cuz... maybe he thinks that what Shawn does is interesting...?
Or is that just boring... ok.. now I'm starting to think it's dumb...
It's so stupid that Lassiter might just shot both Shawn and the psychic...lol
Oh well, I tried. n' sorry for the stupidness

Actually, Jason Alexander played a dumb hack private investigator, Marty Eels, who just did not have any talent for investigating! Then Eels tries to horn in on Monk's active murder consulting turf by providing police with critical information, evidence, and very strange ways of deducing things (such as tasting the dirt off the murdered man's car tire to determine where he'd been--pin-pointing the exact location of the specific route road mile marker by a dead bug on the car's windshield). But the dumbest claim was that he (Eels) was a "human lie detector." Just by rubbing his hands together and then placing them on a suspect's head and shoulder he could "feel" any lie the perp told...and thereby Eels claimed to "discover" where the loot from a robbery gone bad was stashed...
In the end Monk learns the sad truth and even has to help Eels (but doesn't let on publicly about it); but Marty Eels (who was only a private detective because his mother forced him to be--he got his diploma via a correspondence PI course) gives up his private detective work TO TEACH A CRIMINAL JUSTICE COURSE AT A JUNIOR COLLEGE!! Oh, joy! It's a fun episode but not a fake psychic one...
I do like the duelling psychics idea already mentioned--Shawn vs a so-called actual psychic from another city's police department... It might be a nice twist if Shawn thought that the other (real) psychic was a fake one--but then through strange revelations of correct information about Shawn and Gus, Shawn realizes that the psychic is real...but still, Shawn's special skills are needed to complement the real psychic's natural psychic talent.

Dude TyCA your idea isn't bad.. Psychic competition. The episode could be called "Psych Versus Psychic" and theres some new guy who comes in claiming to be a real psychic and already has a record of solving cases with his psychic powers in some other california city.
Shawn and Gus feel threatened and try to go on the same case Karen Vick just gave the other guy, let's call him Bob to solve later confusion. Lassiter doesn't like the idea that the police department is practically being run by "so called psychics" so he also tries to solve the case, and he completely forgets about O'hara in the process. So she gets angry with him, and helps out Shawn and Gus this time around. And the story goes on from there.

An idea I had for a Psych episode would be that Gus and Shawn hire some pretty girl to be their secretary, and then later find out that she is really Lassiter's niece or something. I'm not entirely sure how that would fit into a story line or something, but it would give Lassiter another reason to hate Shawn (=
xd16
Aug 25 2006, 03:46 PM
Shawn finally decides to call a TEMP agency instead of a modeling agency, he's talking to Gus about it. Gus disapproves, saying they still don't need a secretary. Shawn called already and she'll be over later that day..
It skips to a scene with Lassiter talking to Juliet about how he finally got his neice off the couch and made her go to a temp agency, he shows her a picture, and Juliet compliments how pretty she is, until he keeps talking how women can easily be taken advantage of (cause he's like that) and Juliet gets offended.
Back to Shawn and Gus.. This girl finally comes to try out the job, and Shawn sees that she's hot. Gus mentions how she reminds him of someone but he can't quite put his finger on it. The girl, lets call her.. the secretary, says how her Uncle, being the hardass he is, made her go to a temp agency to find a job. Shawn of course, comforts her, while Gus stands across the room waiting for Shawn to quit playing around..
They get a call from the Police Chief, obviously a murder (I don't wanna sweat the details, someone got killed, it happens) so Shawn and Gus start to head out after Shawn tells her his phone number so she can call if she has any problems, and tells her where they'll be at.
So they show up at the crime scene.. Lassiter lets them in, because he is happy, he just got good news that his niece found a job as a secretary, and nothing can ruin his day. Juliet seems suprised, but Lassiter still doesn't let shawn or gus touch anything important. So anyway, the secretary shows up.. Apparently Shawn left his cell phone on the desk, and she didn't know Gus's number, so she rushed over to give it to Shawn, and make a nice impression. Shawn accepts his phone, compliments her nice little skirt and how it goes well with her eyes.
And now Juliet walks out. She seems a bit confused. She walks over to Shawn and asks him "What is Lassiter's niece doing here?".. Shawn goes "Who, what do mean? I don't see any dogs running around anywhere." And the secretary walks over.. "Whats goin' on?" Shawn suddenly notices what juliet meant, and makes an excuse to hide lassiters neice.. from lassiter, because if he finds out, this crime scene might just turn into a double homicide.
And the episode goes on from there..
Like that kind of episode? lol

That's why I resurrected it! I decided to stop doing so now since I think it might annoy people, but I might resurrect more if I think they're useful now
