I just got back from the NS tour in Webster, MA and it was really, really fun! All four were entertaining, sounded great and the crowd loved them all.

Casey was very funny and much more entertaining than I was expecting! He received the only standing ovation although all four were very well received and a lot of people stood for all of them. This man in the front row, who was covered with John Deer clothes, was brought to tears when Casey sang "How Great Thou Art". He actually had to walk away, wipe his eyes and then come back to the concert. I wasn't expecting this from such a macho looking man! Casey's voice is so powerful it was just amazing to hear him in person. And I couldn't believe how funny he was! Everyone was laughing the whole time he was on the stage. He was very comfortable and looked great!

Matt was also very entertaining and even better in concert than on TV. He sang this one Johnny Cash song so fast it was amazing! He kept saying I'm going to speed it up and boy did he! Just great.

Chris and Nicole were also a lot of fun to watch. Nicole sounded great on her songs, hit some good high notes and was smiling and happy. Chris was well received and he went into the crowd at the end which they loved. "Drinking me Lonely" was his big hit of the concert. They all looked liked they've become very comfortable in front of a crowd and have definitely learned how to perform at a concert. It was a really good time.

My son and his girlfriend said they liked Casey and Matt best out of the four and they thought those two should tour together - Mason/Rivers Concert! I'd go see that for sure!

Casey fans be very happy - he's great in concert and worth the drive and the money. I was more than pleasantly surprised as it was even more than I expected.

Didn't get any pics - sorry. I was hoping they'd have a Casey CD for sale, one I didn't already have, but they only had Matt CDs on sale that I could see.

I hope everyone has a chance to go see this tour - it's a lot of fun!

Sounds like you had a great time! Witch I knew you would! Did you get to talk to Casey?

I'm so glad you had a great time. I really wish I could see them.

I was also at the show in Webster and I thought Casey was wonderful. In my opinion, he was the best of the four. He interacted more with the crowd and was fun altogether. I was also there for the autograph meet and greet after the show. I was with a handicapped woman and we were first in line. Casey was the only one to shake my hand, and I hadn't even made an attempt. It is very nice to know that he is a genuinely caring guy.

Kathi,
No pictures???? waaaaaaaa.
The song Matt did ...was it "I've been everywhere"? That's the one he kept speeding up in Indiana. He was awesome. Sang the heck out of it!
On the general board they said Casey was really funny.
I can't wait to go see them! I'm glad you had such a good time but shame shame on the pictures young lady

Kathi, Love your review. Makes me want to see it more than ever now. I'm so glad you got to go and that it was so much fun.

Oh I just love summer - it never lasts long enough in the NE! Sorry it took so long to respond to everyone I haven't been near my computer much; prefer the pool this time of year!

Monkey Girl - I didn't get to meet Casey but we weren't far from the stage so I felt like we met him. They did have a M&G but there was already a long line and I didn't want to make everyone wait. Plus, sometimes I feel a little silly at my age being a "fangirl" lol.

Kara - I'm sorry you can't go to the concert; it really was fun. Maybe in the future they'll be a Rivers' concert in your area!

AJN86 - I agree that Casey was the best of the four. I hesitated to put this in my first post because I know my opinion is somewhat biased. However, my husband, son and his girlfriend all thought Casey was the best and they didn't watch the show or have prior opinions on a favorite and that said a lot more to me than my opinion.

I think this may have been for a few reasons:

1. First, I give Casey tremendous credit for being so talented and for putting on such a great show. He really, really was entertaining.

2. Both Nicole and Chris's voices didn't always carry over the band. Casey's voice boomed over the band no matter how loud they played but you couldn't always hear what Nicole or Chris were singing. Their voices weren't always loud enough. I don't remember not being able to hear Matt so his voice must also have been able to carry over the band. Chris played several original songs and they pretty much sounded the same to me. They also weren't familiar to the crowd so it may have been a little harder for the crowd to get into his songs just because they were brand new. His Drinkin' Me Lonely was the hit of his set and people really responded to that song. He did have a lot of fangirls in the crowd and lots of girls in line to take his picture but the crowd wasn't quite as involved in his set as they were Casey's. I saw more people looking around, etc.

This is not to take away from any of the four's performances as I really do think all four put on a good set. I'm just trying to explain/figure out why/ Casey received the only standing ovation and (IMO) was the best at this concert.

Katy - sorry on the pics lol. I knew you'd get on me about that. I think in earlier years I would have been right there getting pics but now it's more like I just wanted to enjoy the concert - which I did. And my son was mad I didn't buy Matt's CD but I didn't realize he wanted it. I told him he could order it online. But, of course, being 20, I think he thought I'd pay for it at the concert but if he ordered online he might have to pay. kids. You'll love the concert - Matt is really cute on stage. He cracks me up when he does his swivel foot thing. lol

Nana - you've already been lucky enough to see Casey sing so you know how great he is, but you will truly enjoy this concert. All four were very entertaining and the opening act - Don Campbell? had a great fiddler player to get the crowd going for Matt's set.

Side note: This place was in a beautiful setting and luckily the weather held off. It is an outdoor amphitheatre situated on the shores of a beautiful lake with a record long name...

Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg

LOL -

Nicole told the crowd she'd practice saying it for next year and then Casey came out and actually said the name. The crowd - especially the locals were impressed that he had taken the time to learn how to say the lake name. This is how he started his set and just enraptured the crowd from the start.

I hope/wish everyone could get to see the show. It was fun!

ha ha Kathi "cracks me up" isn't the words i'd use to describe Matt's moves

Everyone said Casey was funny and entertaining. I can't wait to see him, Matt, & Chris.

I wouldn't be so picture crazy if I could get pics at my tour show but I can't so I need ya'lls

Wow, just sitting here and reading your reviews about the concert, makes me want to go. He is in Texas this coming weekend, but my duties lie with my grand children. Casey's uncle and aunt will be going and I will be babysitting their children. Guess, I will just have to wait for Casey to have a concert in his home town before I see him again, plus not complaining, because I am not much of a traveler! Everyone knows that! When Casey had his concert during Nashville Star in his home town, I did manage to drive the 2 miles to see it, but from what I am reading, he must be a big hit with everyone, and seems to be on top of the four. Just my opinion, and yes I am very bias, Don't you know his parents are so proud of him. I have asked Joyce, monkey-girl to please send his mom some pictures of the concerts, as I know she would love to have them, With them being so far away, it is impossible for her to get to them. If any of you have any pictures you want to share with Laniegh, please forward them to her. She is a very proud mom and know she would love to have any pictures that you guys can spare, You can get back with me on the address or go to Casey's web and get the PO box #. Any pictures I know would be greatly appreciated by her. Thanks so much for the great reviews you have all given Casey.

Kathi, this is very good review. I sure wish I could go to one. If I do, I know I will have to have someone else take pictures for me, 1) because I want to see the show & 2) because I'm not the best picture taker...

I'm so happy to hear about all of them but since Casey is my favorite, Love to hear all the great things about him. I know MM puts on great show to. I wish somehow or another they could tape the show so we could at least see it on tv.

You made me feel like I was almost there seeing it. Thanks Kathi.
