Finally caught last night's TNT "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" from the mind of (read short stories of) Stephen King, billed as the "four week TV event of the summer..." Last night William H. Macy starred in "Umney's Last Case," and the second hour/story was "The End of The World Mess." The music for both of these hours/stories was done by our Jeff Beal! I don't know if Jeff did the music for last week's two stories or whether or not he's done them for next week's two (and the week after that for the final two finale)... Anyone know for sure? I had tuned in especially to see the story William H. Macy starred in (playing both the author and the 'noir' character the author created), but it turned out that I was much more absorbed and interested in the second story, about the end of the world mess.... Since we (as a society) went out (in the end of the world) as silly and foolish, it was the big brother's (Howie's, who was called Bow-Wow by his genius younger brother, whose first words were "bow-wow") comment near the end that sticks in one's mind (given the grim news about wars and deaths and suffering these days): "Better to go out a silly fool than a burned up cinder..."
