Well by now we all know Isabelle killed Matthew...but before he diedhe said something that could flip the plot of the show upside down..."Do you remember the 1st time we met,? I told you that you had a job to do, do you remember that job?" Isabelle:"To Eliminate the 4400" Matthew:"All the rumors about the catastrophe are lies... THE 4400 ARE THE CATASTROPHE... ... This is a VERY convincing way to either Save The Future or Ruin The Future...Post more on the topic.

Matthew is evil...why would the 4400 be evil? Isabelle is evil shes the one killing everyone...or turning their abitlities against them...the 4400 try to help others...
BrainLazy
But look at it this way...Maybe what Isabelle was doing was for the greater GOOD,it obviously helped shawn survive..maybe hes more important than we know. And if Matthew died and he was the good guy...hes not dead yet, look at what happened when Tom tried to commit suicide, IF HES GOOD then theyre holding him in the future for a while til its the right time to bring him back..maybe he'll pull a Kyle and posess someones body...BTW..HAS ANYONE SEEN THE NAME CHAD FAUST ON THE OPENING THEME? CAUSE IF NOT KYLE IS NO LONGER ON THE SHOW...please let me know

You don't have to be evil to cause a catastrophe.

What is it with this whole "Good Guy" "Bad Guy" thing... i mean seriously... one of these days everyone is going to realize that both sides are neither completely "good" or completely "bad"... just like NTAC... people see them as "bad" when in reality it was a small minority that created the PI project... Tom and Diana work for NTAC but they're not bad...

It's not about "good guy" and "bad guy"... we need to know more about the People from the future and this "disaster" before we can figure out who's more close to being on the right side or not... but I GUARANTEE that neither side is completely right or wrong.

I think it was plain how it came out of Matthew's mouth. He felt that the 4400 were bad and needed to be eliminated. Does this sound like a "good guy"? Not really, especially when taken with what "Sarah" said last week - that some people believe that the 4400 is a bad idea. Hmm... Could it be that the theories about Matthew being part of a bad faction from the future are true?

Uh... excuse me... because Matthew believes that the 4400 are the CAUSE of the catastrophe and therefor should be killed... THAT makes him "bad"????

Last week we saw "Sarah" tell Tom to kill Isabelle... what??? becaues she only asked Tom to kill one person that not everyone likes... that makes her a good guy... killing is still killing... it's obvious that BOTH SIDES are willing to do whatever it takes, sacrifice whoever it takes, and kill whoever it takes... to prevent this catastrophe.

For "Sarah's" side... this means... snatching 4400 people from their lives (kidnapping)... dropping them into a whole new time... Then when that doesn't work... let's kidnap the children again... drop them further into the past... wipe out everyone's memory... oh and if one or two die in the process... at least we accomplished something... oh... and if we can't do that... well we'll just kill a person... no problem... we're trying to prevent a catastrophe... so all bets are off... we do what needs to be done.

On Matthew's side... we see what Sarah's side did... so our idea is... we have to stop them from causing this catastrophe... how do we do that??? We have to kill the 4400 that they seeded into the timeline...

I mean neither side to me is great on the whole "morals" aspect... sure Sarah's side seems like the "good guys" but that's all perspective...

We have to start looking at it from a different angle.

Remember Good and Bad only exist because we say they do. There are times when it suits us to believe otherwise. Something is bad if it affects us adversely something is good if it helps us. In the future, good and bad could mean something totally different than what it means now. As a country we have done things that would be considered bad but because it was in time of war or necessity it was accepted as being good. Maybe fighting for survival of the human race gives mankind a huge leeway in what is good or bad. If we look at society's mores and what is considered today to be good and bad we might find different ideas 100 or 200 years ago.

THE 4400 ARE THE CATASTROPHE...

That would be a very interesting twist to the whole show!!!! If it turns out that it was the bad people who sent the 4400 here in the first place which would explain a lot of the wierd seemingly nonuseful powers some have. LOL! That would be interesting.

Olandir i respect that you respect my angle of "Matthew being the good guy" seeing as how i just joined the blogs and youve been doing this for a while...but what im trying to say is the same thing you are...we ALL NEED TO look at the show from as many different angles as we can find...Guys 4400 people appeared in a ball of light..i think its safe to EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

how could the 4400 be a catastrophe, if they hadn't been taken from the past & given certain powers & put back in at 2004, well that would of caused a big ripple.
Minau
I think it's a question of your point of view. Let's assume Matthew conveyes the views of the Isabelle Faction (the bad PFTF if you like). For them the catastrophe might be some kind of purge, killing the unworthy and leaving themselves on top. It's also possible that the catastrophe changed them. So from their point of view preventing the purge/transformation would be the real catastrophe.

Anyway, I think most of what Matthew told Isabelle was propaganda.

well here's what i think...

matthew is from the future. whether good or bad, i can't say... but it is clear that he and the lady that abducted the children are on opposite ends. matthew wanted isabelle to live so she can kill 4400's as the "Angel of Death" and the future lady wants isabelle dead.

...You do know that they all died, right? People do die, given time. The point is what they accomplished DURING their lives. Sure, we don't know what Maia accomplished, but that doesn't mean she didn't. Remember the ripple effect? Not every 4400 accomplished something directly.

could be. this keeps thhings interesting!

I don't think we know enough about either group to call one or the another good or evil. Matthew wants the 4400 to fail. Sara's group feels free to play with people's lives and to rearrage them for their convenience. Both seem to forget a central theme, even if you "make people" (by giving them powers or whatever) there is no guarantee they will do what you want them to do. I wouldn't trust either or them.
