Aside from the sometimes laughable dialouge, and the easily predictable story line, I really enjoy the 4400, until I see crap like I saw last night.

When the fake Tom NTAC agent was smashed on the head with the vase, and she ran out of the room, there in the same exact spot from where she grabbed the vase, was the vase! A miracle! It pieced itself together! This wasn't some obscure background set item wither. IT was right there in the foreground, you couldn't miss it.

I am always amazed when things like this go unnoticed.

I'm sure others noticed this as well.

Hopefully, going forward, they'll pay more attention in the editing room.

Oh, and the isabel romance thing is just weak.

Watch the clip that someone posted on the "A mistake in tonight's show" thread. At 15 seconds into the clip you can see 2 vases. I guess the editors aren't really the ones who need to pay attention

It is interesting to see all the goofs made during the filming on TV and in the movies. Do a search for your favorite movie of all times and check out the goofs that are made. And these movies make huge profits. It all relates to the dollar. How much does it cost to do a re-take....more than allowing a small goof. Remember this isn't real life but make believe drama. As far as the vase conversations, it looks to me that there were two vases placed placed on each end of the table. But that is what I see. One was used to hit the fake Tom and the other remained where it was placed. But oh well....still a good show.

It happens and is the script supervisor's job to ensure continuity. Don't forget, all of TV and film are shot OUT-OF-SEQUENCE and re-edited later in post production. Many times actors have to redo a scene several times to get different angles, close-ups, and reaction shots. It's not like a live theatre play where the actors can respond to anything and everything. Script supervising's a difficult job, that's why I'd never take it. It's very easy to criticize, but harder to do a better job than what you criticize. So cut the show some lee-way when occasional goofs happen.

Cut them some leway? Hell no. If your putting it out for public consumption, major flaws should never be allowed to get out. Seriously. Someone watched the full, edited episode before it airs. They can catch these things.

And if there were 2 vases as another person suggested, then it's very poor set design and not much thought was put into the scene.

Did you notice also that the broken shards were gone from the ground? Use a little logic. I in fact kept asking my wife, "why doesn't alana use HER power". Obviously she did. She created an alternate reality, she grabbed the vase and cracked it over his head, then switched back to true reality. yes, the vase appears again un-broken, but there are no shards on the floor either. Mistake? Maybe not buddy. Alana IS ALSO a 4400 afterall.

I get the impression you just WANT to dislike the show. I'd bet a search of your posts would affirm that impression. Even when a very logical explanation is offered you make a completely illogical criticism. Please explain WHY matching vases on a table is "poor set design". I have matching horseheads on either end of our kitchen mantle. Would you criticize my interior decoration to your friends when you left? I can assure you, I'd just laugh, would not be offended.

You didn't even notice there were 2 vases (before you came in to criticize). So why should they have concerned themselves as to what type of other vase was on the table when you weren't going to notice it anyway?
