Full Version: What happened to the intro music??? Bring it back!

Man the new intro is not good. New Years Prayer by the late great Jeff Buckley was excellent. Was it costing too much money to keep it? Bring it back. It gave the show a great mystic quality. The whole intro looks like it has been hacked.

Also writers if you read this. Please get done with the Greg Stilson side story. The best shows have never been with him in it. Ok a couple of good ones but this story is too predictable. Greg is bad man and ruthless and is going to do bad things.

Oh and lose the blond chick from 24 (Season 2). Bring back the hot chick from Season 2 (Reporter). The best shows in the series have been not centered around the regulars although Sarah Bracknell Bannerman's character is good and has a great chemistry with Johnny.

Hi Vectorman, welcome to the board. However ...(and if you haven't seen last night's premiere or Seasons 3 and 4, SPOILERS AHEAD!)

So, when did you start watching the show? Greg Stillson/Armageddon is not exactly a "side story," that theme has been an integral part of the show since Episode 1. And, since Stillson killed his father and Janus stepped in, Stillson has emerged as a troubled, pathetic young man who is easily led. His greatest evil at this point is advocating all responsibility to Janus, even to the point of dooming his fiance.

Rebecca left at the start of Season 4 and hopefully won't be back. Dana Bright (yes, she is a hot chick!) is alleged to appear in one or two episodes this season, certainly not enough. But how can you say that episodes with the regulars aren't as good? I take it you haven't seen any of Season 1.

Well, on this we are in perfect agreement. The new theme is a pretty piece of music, especially for a music box(ting-ting-ting-TING-ting ...), but "New Year's Prayer" fits the show so well I can't imagine why they changed the theme. (It had to be a money issue!) Sometimes when I'm watching a post-Season 3 episode, I turn the sound off during the opening and sing "New Year's Prayer" instead.

Hi Vectorman. First, you may want to read the the book by Stephen King to kinda get an idea of who and why Stillson is important, or just watch the movie, and please, please, buy or borrow the seasons 1-4 so that you can see what's up with the show. I promise you, you won't regret it.

>>I started in Season 1 and actually own Season 2 on Disk. I've watched every episode (Seasons 1-4) and rented the movie (which was weak) and I remember Martin
Sheen played the Greg Stillson character

>>That is very good news!!!!. Season 1 was ok, the writing was a bit weak. None the less I really enjoyed it. I think Chris Bruno is the weakest character and actor on the show. His character is such a wimp.

I agree. I think I'm going to start muting the opening theme. I wonder if the original theme is available from iTunes? Does anyone know who the artist is behind the original?

i love the new theme!!!

to be honest, i used to skip the intros from time to time on my dvd's for seasons 1-3 (although New Year's Prayer is a great song). i never skip the intros on the new seasons. it's a great theme.

Up a little higher in the thread I mentioned it was the late great Jeff Buckley. I downloaded it from Yahoo Music which is actually cheaper than Itunes (.80 a tune). There are two versions. One for the show and the original Buckley tune. The song is called New Years Prayer. I definitely preferred the shows mix of the song

Weak character? A wimp? Ummm... Are you sure you watched Season 3?
If you have it on Disc I'd go ahead and turn on the episode "No Questions Asked".

I love the new opening song, I think its kind of dark and misdifing. (form season 4)
