Much like he did with Austin Powers, Mike Myers is ready to give life to a new character known as Pitka.

Mike Myers has been keeping himself busy over the past couple months, and according to Daily Variety, he was busy developing a new character for the big screen. Variety reports that Myers will write, produce and star in a new comedy for Paramount based on the personality of Pitka, a new age guru character he has been quietly testing out in New York area theatres.
As he did with the Austin Powers character, Myers put together Pitka through a series of stage shows in the New York area. And while he was trying to keep the shows on the DL, a report in New York magazine says the character had a fake beard and nose and used the mantra "Mariska Hargitay,".
Myers will now collaborate on the script with Graham Gordy. In the film version, Myers will star as Pitka, who is brought in the help quell the romantic problems facing a new couple.
It's not clear which project will be the next for the CAA-repped Myers. Not only is he attached to bring the title character back in a third Shrek film, he's also set to play The Who drummer Keith Moon in a biopic, as well as headline the comedy How to Survive a Robot Uprising, also for Paramount, from Reno 911 creators Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant.

The movie "The Love Guru" will be released June 20th, 2008. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Mariska has a cameo in it. Apparently, there is some controversy surrounding the movie regarding the Hindu community, but I hope it's not too much of an issue.

I love Mike Myers! I hope this character doesn't stray too far into the Austin Powers territory. As much as I love that character, I thought that that franchise was getting a little tired. I'd love to see a Wayne's World 3 though....That would be phat!

She does have a cameo. She mentioned in TVGuide that she went up to Canada to film a scene.
Can't wait to see what she does!
Mike Myers was on Ellen DeGeneres's show today, and Ellen asked him about using Mariska's name as a blessing. Ellen thought it was hilarious that he used it, and Mike said when he was trying out the character in New York, Mariska was at one of his shows. He imitated her reaction as one of befuddlement. Very cute.

Have any of you seen the 'mini-sutras' Mike Myers has done on Youtube to promote the movie? They are all words of wisdom, with Myers usual deadpan sillyness...but it's too funny to hear him open or close his diatribe with Mariska's name. What a nut!
It is hilarious to hear. On the bright side, more people will probably know how to pronounce her name correctly.

OMG. I had no idea what was going on when I watched AI. I had no idea who Guru Pitka was or what was really going on until MM greeted Ryan Seacrest. When he greeted the Davids, I was like "What did he just say? Why does it sound so familiar?" Then I repeated it and nearly peed my pants laughing. He said it sooooo seriously.
"Mariska Hargitay" Haha! I love how His Myspace website requested me a couple weeks before i even knew who he was and i hadnt accepted him. I did after i knew what his mantra was
