It has been brought to the attention of the mass population that watching the series "MONK" has had a positive effect on millions of viewers.
Peoples are becoming more aware of things like germs, dust, phobias and have been known to change their way of life to become more Monkish in their daily lives. This series has even been known to expand peoples minds into more intellectual thinking and has even been known to ward off forgetfulness by expanding their minds by playing games and puzzles, writing poetry and haikus.
This positive effect is creating a whole generation of people buying more wipes, cleaning supplies, vacuuming their ceilings, facing their fears and in general improving their lives in meaningful ways.
The series is responsible for peoples becoming more tolerant of friends and neighbors with strange or odd behaviors, accepting their own phobias without shame and keeping their homes cleaner, neater and more liveable.
This upward trend must continue to be tolerated to create a more perfect union of peoples, shyness is more acceptable and peoples have actually been seen helping out their less fortunate friends and neighbors.
Would you like to add more to why this series should not be watched?

Is this like a trick question? I can't see any reason here NOT to watch the show. Sounds like it's having positive effect on people and that sounds great to me

ever since they got rid of Sharona, Benji and Gail.
it's just not the same. Why did they get rid of them?
I haven't watched since season two and I don't like that hot new girl Natalie and her daughter Julie.

I can't think of a single reason as to why no-one should watch Monk. The show is fantastic.....Monk is the soul reason i am facing my fears and getting on a plane to come to your Monkfest...if i had never watched Monk i most likely would never get on a plane and that's totally true.It has made me see that whilst im studying criminology(i want to be a detective) im not strange for thinking outside the box and seeing things in another way.Monk helps people understand their phobias...it helped me big time.It makes you laugh and it makes you cry and Monk can touch your soul if you just open up to the joy of it.Monk teaches you new things and that is great for people.Lets not forget that Monk has brought all of us together on this forum and has probably created many friendships.Lastly i believe Monk opens you up to the wonders of Love and frienship. It shows you how powerful love can be and how your true friends will be there no matter what,it shows you the wonders things within the world and just how precious life can be.

I can say with confidence that watching the show has been healthy for me. You see, I suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder, and to watch Monk going about his business gives me courage to face the day. I have it pretty severely, and the show gives me hope, some laughs, about myself mainly, and some self-respect.
I know, by the way, that the question was in jest, and am not offended by it.

Maybe I should have made the post "Don't watch Monk if you want to improve your life" but it wouldn't fit.
This is not a trick question but an effort to see how many ways watching MONK has improved the quality of peoples lives because watching MONK has certainly helped improve mine. I am more considerate, a little more in tune with routine tasks which I kept putting off, etc.
I thought it would be fun to see how many ways watching MONK could/did improve the lives of Monkfans everywhere.

I haven't watched since he quit going to Santa Clara to solve mysteries. That was ... um, the first ten minutes of episode one, season one.

If I'm not mistaken season one was shot in Canada so how could he be solving mysteries in Santa Clara?
Me thinks you are trying to pull my leg

Okay, I'll try to not watch Monk any more than I already do; not any less, either.
I first loved Monk because of the way it shows someone with a "disability" with dignity and grace, and not as a cartoon character to be made fun of. As I have Bipolar and some OCD tendencies, this changed my thinking, and the way I view myself, and others. I now know that even with my so-called disability, I can and will be a "functioning member of society", and not feel that I have to hide my light from the world. It's ok to be "different". I knew all of this already, but seeing it on television and knowing that millions of others will be seeing it also helped me to confirm in my mind what I already knew.
