Well, yes, I'm in shock. Nicole? What?! Enough about that nonsense. Everyone knows.
I believe Matt will just use this experience as a catapult to launch his career, which is no doubt going to be a long and successful run. Matt has the potential to blow county music out of the water. His style is appealing to the masses...like Waylon and Cash themselves. His looks alone will sell records to the causal listener, but to those that really know country music...you know what I mean when I say Matt's sound is so unique and just down right awesome. Many (artist, mentors, songwriters, etc., etc.)are wanting to take Matt under their wing. If this show was real, Matt would be there until the end. Funny how things work out though...like for the best. I truly believe not winning this popularity contest is a blessing for an artist like Matt. Now he has the freedom to negotiate a good deal without the pressure of cranking out an album in two months. No doubt he was Wy's and Anastasia's fav, and no doubt he had enough votes to be in the top three. Matt knows that, and he showed such class lastnight by saying with a big smile and those twinkling eyes: "I'm not mad, I'm happy...just think about all the times Cash, Waylon and Hank Jr were told no..."
Folks, you have not heard the last from this phenomial talent...he is just getting warmed up.

Matt showed his maturity and class last night. He left gracefully, just like Jared did. I'm just glad that I got to see his gorgeous smile one last time on the show. He was amazing, and I love him to death, I can't wait to see him again.

Matt has always been my pick for second. I really think he should still be there. I am looking forward to seeing him on the NS tour this summer. I loved the gracious way he said goodbye, what a gentleman. He was wonderful.

I was so hoping it would come down to the three guys. They are each so talented. Matt has a bright future ahead and handled himself very well!! He was gracious.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MATT. HIS DEPARTING WORDS IS EXACTLY WHAT MAKES MATT WHO HE IS AND IS GOING TO GIVE HIM THE SUCCESS HE DESERVES FOR YEARS TO COME. HIS FIRST NIGHT ON STAGE HE WAS BEING HIMSELF AND THE LAST NIGHT ON STAGE YOU GOT MATT HIMSELF AGAIN. HE ISNT GOING TO CHANGE FOR NO ONE. I WAS WANTING TO HEAR HIM SING YOU HAVE TO STAND FOR SOMETHING JUST BECAUSE THE WORDS SO SUIT HIS PERSONALITY. I THINK WE WILL HEAR FROM CHRIS YOUNG FOR A LONG WHILE AND CASEY SOME IN THE FUTURE. AND I SURE HOPE SOMEONE SMART SNAGS KRISTEN UP TOO. OTHER THAN THAT I DONT THINK YOU WILL HEAR FROM TO MUCH MORE. I HEAR MELANIE GOT A DEAL THOUGH.

Matt showed maturity and poise in his departing comments. He has acted that way every week, even when the judges didn't like something. He and Chris Young have definitely had that in common. Unfortunately, I have not seen that from all the contestants. I am sure Matt and Chris will both go far.
