Great idea, Bjossi! (how many times can we each vote? )
Latoya
oh i'm going to cast my vote right now i jst love polls.
thedeadzonetv
as many as you like

after all, it's our choice
Ruralstar
I really like the poll idea Bjossi. I'm surprised we are able to vote more than once however. It would be nice to have a more accurate reflection of fan favorites if people really had to choose only one and only one time.

Personally I found it really tough to pick a favorite. Wound up as a toss up between two episodes that carry huge emotional weight for the John Smith character. I'm only voting once though *shrugs*
thedeadzonetv
Well, to be honest I forgot to make so that you could only vote once.

The second poll next week, will be, that you can only vote once.
Maximus
Okay, I submitted my vote...

Gee, I bet it's tough to figure out which one I vote for...hehehe
thedeadzonetv
Just to give you a little update...

One episode is in the lead, with 22% of the vote, while the next one is at 14%

2 episodes have yet to get a vote.

So vote people, VOTE !

Are you talking about the one with these two sexy actors?

One for the boys and one for the girls?

Yes, that`s the one I voted for!
thedeadzonetv
Time for a little update.

One episode has 15% and is in first place, then three other episodes have 13%.

One episode has yet to get a vote.

Remember voting ends on Tuesday night. A new poll will begin on Wednesday 19. april where we will vote for our favorite season 2 episode

But remember folks, vote, vote, vote !!!!
thedeadzonetv
Alright people ! You have just over 2 hours to vote for your favorite episode !! The voting will close at 8pm Eastern. So far, one episode has yet to get a vote.
thedeadzonetv
Well, Voting has CLOSED for the vote on their first season episode.
Ruralstar
I cast my vote for s2. This is not an easy choice. None of the seasons are. I went for the emotion this time. I love the Mytharc eps too and don't get me started on how cool I thought Ascent was or the wonderful questions of religion opened by Valley of Shadows. Geez Bjossi, how dare you make us think! DZ is such a fabulous series. Thanks for running the poll.
TerryT
I tried voting.
But there are at least five of my favourite DZ episodes in S2!

Great, I have to re-watch some of these episodes, I guess.

Thanks for giving me an excuse!
Ruralstar
Oh the horror of having to rewatch! I'm with you Terry, it was not an easy decision at all.
Hammer
I missed the S1 vote, but my favorite was "The House", not that it matters now, UGH! I did get my vote in for S2. I agree S2 episodes was tough to choose just one. S2 was an awesome season. It had alot of episodes to choose from, not like the others to come.

It's all a matter of perspective. I loved all but 2 episodes of s3 but I already have my faves picked out for s3 and s4
Luxorien
DINNER WITH DANA?! Y'all are mad! Mad, I say! All y'all!
Ruralstar
What was your pick Lux?

It was definitely an ep that made one lose perspective... I think I lost it when Walt walked in with nothing but his underwear. Yep! Brain went haywire at that point. LOL!
thedeadzonetv
Alrighty, time for a little S2 poll update !

6 episodes have yet to get a vote, and one episode is WAY ahead of the others.

Oh yes indeed. I believe it was Michael who stated in the commentary that Chris was channeling Calvin Klein or something to that effect. "Honey, I can't find my toothbrush" Oh please let me help you look dearest!
Ruralstar
I'm not even going to speculate on the leader but I can guess a couple that are being overlooked.

"Destiny." That moment when we find out that Johnny woke up at the same time Stillson was being sworn into office is probably my favorite scene in the whole show.

Can't say I'm terribly interested in seeing Walt without his clothes. tongue.gif I love the character, though. I like "Dinner with Dana" because it's very funny, but the dramatic elements did not draw me in as much. I guess it seems like every agressive female character on TV (Dana, Lois Lane, Chloe Sullivan, any number of CTU agents on 24, etc) has to turn out to have some tragic event in her life that makes her that way. It bothers me a little. Probably they do the same thing with male characters and I just don't notice it, so it's very possible this is all in my head and it's not a gender issue at all, but...it still bothers me a little. It reminds me of my mother telling me that it's okay for guys to drink beer but chicks can't 'cause it's "unladylike." Pardon my Middle English, but what the swyve? I'll drink beer if I wanna drink beer, y'know?

Anyway, that's my hangup with Dana. I like episodes of cosmic significance! Eerie coincidences! I guess "Destiny" sort of encapsulates the entire point of the show, though I think the premiere should get credit for the fantastic pilot that it is.
brattycatty
Season 2 is a hard one to pick, but then so was Season 1. Usually my favorite Season 1 episode is the one I've just watched -- and that includes "Quality of Life" and "Enemy Mind!" (By the way, my selection for Season 1 was "Unreasonable Doubt"(didn't that one win a writing award?), with "Enigma" a close runner-up. "Dinner With Dana" is a lot of fun, though. I guess, having to pick out of so many, I tend to go with a more "stand-alone" episode. "Wheel of Fortune/What It Seems," "Shaman," and "Destiny" are all great, but IMHO they resonate most strongly as part of the main story arc.

Season 2 is even harder, I think! It doesn't help that it's seven episodes longer with the "Sexy Summer Six" plus "The Hunt." In my recent re-watching on DVD, I'm only up to "Deja Voodoo" and I don't want to rush. But I went with "Cabin Pressure." Being limited to just a few characters and one increasing claustrophobic location, it has a tension and immediacy that few episodes can match. Add to that the great writing, acting and casting (yay Peter Wingfield! as the pilot), and its held my attention completely even on the fifth viewing. Runner-ups would be "Playing God", "Zion," and "Descent/Ascent," and, on the lighter side, "Precipitate" and "The Man Who Never Was."

Ruralstar
I think that is a fabulous moment except for one thing. Congressman don't get sworn into office on September 1. At least not in my state. So logic kind of hangs me up on that one. I think one of the most affecting scenes in Destiny is when John drives up to the burning restaurant. The look on his face when it is awash in the glow of the flames is just heart breaking.

I agree that giving a strong female character some near fatal flaw is a very annoying habit that alot of shows get into. I liked that there was an explanation for Dana's brittle exterior though. Most people don't get like that without cause and I guess I'm just a sucker for exploring the human condition. Honestly, I figured Dinner with Dana would win and I had a very difficult time choosing between that and Shaman.
Luxorien
I thought he was being sworn in as mayor or something. He didn't get to Congress until after "Scars."

Although, that probably doesn't fit either. I'm terrible with dates, so I wouldn't know.

What I really loved about the whole scene was that they'd had that up their sleeves the entire season. It was perfectly planned. I didn't even notice the discrepancy between John's first saying "Something's wrong" and the vision of the fire he had right after until it was pointed out in "Destiny." It was such a perfect set-up: a complete surprise, but still utterly inevitable. It's rare for television writers to show that kind of foresight.

Eh, I think there a lot of people who are jerks for no reason. Including myself. There can't be hidden instances of child abuse behind all of them. I agree that something makes people the way they are, but sometimes it's just their personality behind it, or events in their life that are not quite so dramatic. It just felt over the top to me. It didn't ring true. I could go along with it for the sake of the episode, but I wasn't particularly impressed by the writing.

I guess I just can't choose a standalone over a mytharc. The standalones can be great episodes, really well-written and everything, but they just don't feel enough like the main story to be "teh bestest best episdoe eva!!11!"

Although I have to admit that "Netherworld" and "House" were both fantastic character studies ("Netherworld" particularly because it avoided the pitfalls of a tired episode format through a combination of good writing and good acting). I think I could be persuaded to give them place and show.
thedeadzonetv
Well time for another update.

5 episodes have yet to get a vote and two episodes are now tied for the first place.

Remember people, the poll for season 2 ends on Tuesday night at 8pm Eastern, so vote if you haven't voted.

And also let other people know of this poll, if they are Dead Zone fans !
TerryT
I`ve finally been able to vote S2. As I couldn`t decide between four S2 episode (Playing God, Zion, Precipitate, Plague), I chose the fifth one, "Deja Voodoo". The others will get enough votes anyway, I think.

Oh, I love "Descent /Ascent", too!
Can`t we change this voting into a "What is your least favourite episode?" voting? THAT would be much, much easier!
Latoya
i love deja voodoo. The first music video i ever made was for it. I have posted it yet but you make me decide that i will. it's really funny eppy and it made a even funnier musicvideo
thedeadzonetv
Alrighty, with less than 24 hours to go, lets have the last update before the results tomorrow night.

One episode is now WAY ahead of the other episodes and 3 episodes have yet to get a vote.

So, you people who haven't voted yet, VOTE before it's too late.

Remember, the poll closes at tomorrow at 8pm Easten.
brattytxn
Got to go vote! Thanks for the reminder!
thedeadzonetv
Alrighty, voting for your second season episode has ended.

Voting has begun for your favorite episode from the third season !
Ruralstar
Voted. I can't say this was an easy choice. Several of my all time favorites are in s3. In the end there was no contest for me however
brattycatty
I just voted. I went with "Cold Hard Truth," but it was a tough decision between that and "Collision." A lot of good eps in the third season!
thedeadzonetv
Time for a little update !

One episode is way way way way ahead of the others. 5 episodes have yet to get a vote.
Ruralstar
Pulling this thread back to the top. Today is the last day to vote for your favorite s3 ep of The Dead Zone. I'm looking forward to everyone's opinion Thanks to Bjossi for starting the poll in the first place!
