today at my school one of the teachers adressed the issue of heroes. he asked what his students thought the definiton of heroes were and to them who were heroes on their lives, this subject has had me thinking.

to me a hero is anyone who stands up for who and what they belive in and in a way everyone is a hero in some way. then i started thinking of who my heroes were, hum think think think. some kids said their moms and dads, others their family members or someone who made a differance in their lives that they knew.

so who is my hero, well i guess it is lance armstrong. no i havent met him. yeah it may sound kinda dorky or whatever but i am reading his autobiography right now and what better timing ot have this teacher adress this issue. i got to thinking about lance and his life story, wow the papers and media left out alot. he suffered so much with all the cancer he had and yet he still kept riding his bike and continuing his career as a cyclist. his book even got me thinking, wow someone with all that pain still going for it. man what a hero for all of us. the idea that no matter what i am going through i can overcome it, anything. hum, after reading almost all of his book i have started to realize how lucky i really am. this book has put a new outlook on my life, not only to strive for whatever i want no matter who says that i'll never make it or its way out of my league but to remember that their are people out there that have it way worse than me and to be thankful for all that i have been givin.

i say all that to ask if anyone else has had a similar experiance where they have bee nchanged by something as simple as a question in school or a book that some overlook?

I read an article about Teri Hatcher, the story of her abuse, it made me realise things aren't always as they seem ...
