As most of you know, I haven't been getting out much lately. However, I did make the most of my trip to get the cast off my ankle yesterday. I told the nurses about Chris and gave them cards to remind them to watch the show & vote. Then I dropped by Cardiac Rehab and did the same thing there. The gals were particularly interested when they saw Chris's picture. LOL!!! The doctor said he doesn't really listen to country music. Let's hope his surgical skills are better than his musical taste.

I am not sure about that Doc, I am a huge fan of ROCK. Give me Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Ozzie, well you get the idea. However I must add, the first time I heard Chris sing he knocked me over. I am not a huge country fan but Chris got my attention and I said after he left the studio " That young man is going to be VERY BIG one day soon". Chris's voice is NOT like any other, he has his own smooth, fresh individual sound. In the future there will be other singers come on the scene and "they" will be compared to Chris! On top of the great voice Chris has, he is a wonderful young man that makes his Momma proud!!!!!

You are SO RIGHT, TonyG!! He has an awesome voice & it always irks me a little when people say he sounds like someone else. Most of the people he's compared to would probably love to have Chris's voice. He gets our attention with that wonderful voice, but he makes his fans love him by being the great human being that he is!
I also like rock music but mostly love old time rock & roll because I'm an old time person-LOL. I also love other kinds of music including some classical. I may have Chris Young right next to Andrea Bocelli in my CD player at any given time. The doc didn't seem at all open minded about listening to country music. It's his loss!

LOL My older son, William,(you met both of my sons when Chris was in Augusta) had a medical emergency and was in the hospital the night week of the first show...in Michigan! I told EVERYONE at the University of Michigan
University Hospital to watch my friend Chris Young!
I'm so proud of how well he's doing!
We just need to get him to South Carolina when he wins! South Carolina/Georgia Loves Chris Young!!!

AV, hopefully you won't have to spend too much more time with medical professionals. But the way your life goes sometimes I bet you'll have all the medical staff in South Carolina and Georgia cheering for Chris by the end of next week....hopefully only because of follow up visits though, no new incidents!

AV, it's so good to see you on here!! I often think about getting over to the TA board to see how you're doing but I never seem to make it. Hope your son is doing fine now. Yep, we have to figure out a way to get Chris back down here to SC when all this is over.

Tony...you are so right! He is a great talent and a great guy! Thank you for added your insights.
NSC...I tried to get a couple of places in Columbia to invite Chris last year, and they wouldn't. LOL They are probably slapping themselves now!
We have to get you well enough to dance on the table when he comes back our way! Hope your girls are watching and enjoying their friend Chris!

We have a new place called the Saddle Ridge Club that has line dancing, dancing on the bar, and maybe line dancing on the bar for all I know. I haven't actually been there but it sounds like fun. I thought that might be a good place to get Chris booked but he was performing at Cowboys down in Texas when I first heard about it. Maybe after he's a huge star, we'll be able to see him on tour on a regular basis. Won't be quite the same as watching him play the guitar, sing, and chit-chat back & forth between him & the audience, will it?

I am not sure of everyones age here, but assume many are much younger than I. I am just over 61 years, and am enjoying everyday. I am currently retired (my wife says "retarded"), I am on my third round of cancer (lung)this time and have been told several times there is no reason I should be alive! I guess I am too mean to die!! I am happy to wake up each day and see the light outside, every day is a new day and I am going to enjoy it. There are many days that I start my day playing Chris' CD (I wish I was lying), the sound system in my Hummer is really great!!!!! It is great young folks like Chris that make living a real pleasure. God bless all.

Tony, I hope you'll be enjoying Chris's music for many years to come!!! I'm a few years older than you and I'm a heart patient which is one reason I've gotta get this leg in good working order so I can get back to doing my cardio exercise on a regular basis. I retired at the end of 2003 and I'm really enjoying it in between trips to the hospital--LOL.

Well, I'm not in my 60's, but I'm also well-acquainted with cancer - I'm a three-time survivor. I enjoy the music of a lot of independent artists, and I know that all of them are really pleased that Chris is getting his big break, just as he'd be pleased for them if the situation were reversed. The thing about indie artists like Chris is that they start out by writing their own material, and those songs come from the heart, from their own lives, loves and experiences. The passion is so much stronger for an indie artist.
Chris is a young man to be proud of, worthy of anyone's support, and he's had the incredible fortune to be grounded in a strong and supportive family. If I could be half the parent that Becky & Michael are, I'd never have a second thought about the way my kids would turn out.

Tony, I love the sound of that! You are so right! So far no one I've heard has been able to sound like Chris and Chris does NOT sound like anyone I know--he's just Chris. I thought that the first time I heard him sing at 14 and his voice has changed quite a bit since then.

I got all excited when I read this. EXACTLY!! Prez - we feel the same way about his voice. It's totaly unique. The purity and richness does me in every time he opens his mouth to sing.
