I had never heard this guy before the show tonight. I think he was the class of the group. He simply rocked the place. I'd much rather see someone like this onstage than see someone just stand there imitating Randy Travis.
Nice job Shy!

I had listened to his song clips on myspace and really liked them all a lot, but I wasn't very impressed with the clips Nashville Star chose to show of his audition performance at all. I thought he could be a lot better than what I saw and after tonight, I know I was right! He was the very best performer out of the guys, all around! I liked Matt's voice the best, but I loved Shy's performance the most! Also, he got KUDO points with me when he explained why he performs barefoot! I thought it was cool BEFORE I understood why, but now I just think it is the coolest thing in the world! I promoted him today on myspace too! I'm so glad I picked him first, to promote out of the guys! This is one cool guy and very down to earth. He reminds me of some of my best guy friends in his personality. And then there is his awesome talent on top of it. Wow! He got my vote tonight!

Are you kidding me? The barefoot gig has been done by a certain artist in the Texas Music Scene for more than 10 years now. Actually, by an artist who has stuck by his roots, his fans and his band. By a man who sticks to his guns, his crew and his family. Even Pat Green copied this guy. This persona Shy is trying to portray has evidence of a certain Oklahoma Boy that has been working his butt off for years. Don't try to play it off as original when you are obviously ripping someone off. You will NEVER be Cody Canada. Good try!

I really became a fan last night. I'm rooting for him!

Chalk me up as a new fan also. Wow, about wraps up the only way I can describe his performance last night. I hope he sticks around a while, he in my opinion was so active and looked like he was ready to put on an entire show, if they had let him.

I liked the fact that he said something to the effect that he knows he doesn't have the best voice, but he does put on a show. And that my friends is exactly what he did. For a moment I was not bored lol. Rock on Shy!!!!

Why do you think that just because Shy plays barefoot that he's trying to "rip off" Cody Canada? Surely you don't think that Cody was the first guy ever to play barefoot. You have all these good virtues written about Cody but because Shy has similar virtues you try to label him as a copy cat? Shy and Cody have played several shows together and consider each other friends. As a matter of fact, when Shy was shot a couple years ago in Dallas, Cody and the band unfortunately were not available to play at Shy's first benefit so they came a couple weeks later and played a very intimate acoustic show with Shy at the same club Shy was shot behind. So you see, Shy's not trying to be nor does he ever want to BE Cody. Shy's just doing what he does and Cody is doing the same. Every artist there has ever been and will ever be has taken ideas from those before him and combines them together in an effort to stick out from the rest of those around him. Shy is just as original of an artist as Cody and both of them constantly learn and feed off of other great artists around them. For that reason, they will both be around for a long time.

Shy Blakeman is the best TEXAS country singer out there along with CCR and Bleu Edmondson. They are all the best of friends and that will never change. I have know Shy Blakeman for a while now and he is an outstanding singer and the best friend you will ever have if you get the chance to know him. SHY I just want you to know that YOU ROCK and you know all you have to do is get crazy and wild and show NASHVILLE STAR you are the one and only STAR for NASHVILLE. I love you SHY and can't wait to see you when you come back to Texas to Reno's in Webster and at Scott Todaro's Benefit.
