Is there a direct link to the script page?

Poor Monk! (Of course he can probably still solve crimes while blind anyway, he must be a Braille master!)

I don't think Monk would be able to read Braille. Most likely he would keep on straightening out the dots on the pages so they would be EVEN.

Do you have to pay to read those scripts?.
Maybe Monk wont be blind but rather very oblivious to things that everyone else can see. y'know selective vision.
peppermintpatty
yes, you have to pay a fee to read a few pages. go to showfax.com and click on the "sides". make sure you are in the los angeles section. then just scroll down to the monk section. i paid 6 dollars to read a sample script for one of the parts.

I think this episode is based on the book, Mr. Monk Goes To The Firehouse. Although Lee Goldberg, the book's author and the episode's writer, said it "has only passing resemblance" to the book. Lee mentioned in his blog that the title was tentatively Mr. Monk Goes Blind. One of the characters in the book is Lucas Breen and I see he is also a character in this episode.

Man I feel sorry for Adrian if he can't see. Sounds like a funny one (like always)
Liv
He might actually like it, somewhat. It might be a gift and a curse. If he can't see that something is crooked, it won't bother him. I know that I have wished at times that I could selectively turn all of my senses off, but usually it's my hearing or sense of smell. They are the ones that are more hypersensitive and cause the most trouble for me. Of course it will be a problemfor him if he actually wants to leave his home, though. At home he knows where everything is and he'll feel safer. Outside of his home, there are people who don't stay put and noise and stuff.
monkfan13
Yeah that seems like a good thing when you put it that way Liv.
Bubba_Bridges
Hi Bubba here, okay the title of the season five premire is Mr. Monk Can't See A Thing, not Mr. Monk Goes Blind is that right?
monkfan13
Probably it means that Monk can't solve the mystery. Man I hope that doesn't happen. That would be bad.

and losing his eyesight wouldn't?

I know what you mean though. I think.

Do you think it's from those darn lasers or the retinal scaring?
Liv
Of course! Why didn't I think of that?
monkfan13
Yeah I bet you know what I mean. I'm just putting another theory on there.

There's a site that posts sides from scripts? Amazing. (FYI - "sides" are the excerpts from the scripts that the actors read and perform at the auditions for guest-starring roles).

Yes, the first episode to be filmed (though not necessarily the first to air) is "Mr. Monk Can't See A Thing," which was written by me & William Rabkin and is very loosely based on my book "Mr. Monk Goes to The Firehouse."

i believe the site is set up for actors who are after very small parts. at least thats what they claim.
