I brought scrambled eggs, country ham and homemade cheese biscuits this morning for anyone who wants to join in. We also have some fresh melon and strong coffee, cinnamon roll bites made from scratch, and an assortment of homemade jelly, jam and pear honey for the regular biscuits.

Enjoy!

If you wonder why I posted this in Chris's forum, that's his FAVORITE breakfast and he'll probably fight you over the cheese biscuits! I'll try to post the recipe later today.

Good morning, Becky, Shannon, and all who follow. Breakfast sounds great! I'm just checking out the boards before I get in my recliner and "assume the position" (feet elevated). I'm doing much, much better with this new cast.

Hope you all have a great day!

haha! Ya'll are great. Here's the "easy" recipe for the cheese biscuits (the from scratch kind are a family secret)

Make the recipe for biscuits on a box of Bisquik instant biscuit mix. Fold in a cup of grated cheddar cheese. You can use mild or sharp (if you use extra sharp, like I do, they taste more like the biscuits at Red Lobster). Once you have the cheese mixed in, set the biscuits aside. Take a 10 X 13 glass cake dish (glass works better than metal), melt a stick of margarine in the dish. I usually turn the oven on warm and put the butter in the oven to melt while I roll and cut the biscuits out of the dough. Once you have your butter/margarine melted and your biscuits cut out (whatever shape you desire - we do Christmas trees at Christmas time with cookie cutters, hearts at Valetines, and bunnies at Easter...you get the picture). Dip each biscuit in the melted butter, and then place it non-melted butter basted side down so that the side up has butter on it already. Then bake in the oven at the specified temperature on the Bisquik box (I usually do it at 400). Serve hot...the bottoms are gooey. If you want them less gooey (or are watching your calories) use only a half stick of margarine. Also - if you want to do something "fancy" you can add a touch of garlic salt sprinkled on the tops before baking.

They are addictive! My family loves them and they are the perfect breakfast with a piece of ham....
