I must say I am an avid fan, and unless I was working have never missed a monk episode. I missed most of this past season and large portions of season three due to working second jobs.
However it only took a few monk episodes for me to become truly addicted.
I actually started watching monk regularly during the hiatus when bitty schram left the show. After watching the marathon during last years superbowl, I went out and bought both seasons on DVD. My wife and I watched them both through three different times, and have tuned into every marathon since then.
I must say though despite my love for monk, it just aint seemed the same monk. The stories though entertaining, were not as good as they used to be. I dont care so much for natalie as much as I did sharona, but because of character weaknesses not acting issues.
However I watched Mr Monk and the astronaught and I must say, it was like watching episodes from season one and two again. Great story, great mystery, crazy method of commiting the crime. Monk was vulnerable, which actually is his strongest feature, and he seemed like the crazy guy we all loved. I did not notice natalie at all, and traylor did a splendid job in that episode.
So I ask is monk back? Whoever wrote that one, I must say congratulations. I will be a monk fan, till the last episode, and I love even the not so entertaining ones, but in my opinion that was a homerun.
