Hi Bubba here, next week as everyone knows will end season four of Monk. Now, we figure out what to do on Friday nights? I can't to see what this episode is about. Here are some of the guest stars of Jury Duty according to imdb.com.
Hira Ambrosino as TV Reporter
Bryan Coffee as Sneezy Juror
Blake Silver as Karl Palmer
Michael Weaver as Agent Lapides

Please, Bubba, say it isn't so. The Season finale??? Already??? I haven't filled up the tapes I'm recording of the eppys. I have nothing else to do on Friday nights except get to sleep at a decent hour instead of staying awake until Monk and House are over. I can't talk about Monk at work, because I've already driven my co-workers nuts describing every moment of the shows to them. I know they won't want reruns. I might be forced to accept phone calls and entertain guests betwen 9p.m. and 10p.m. CST on Friday night.
Woe is me, woe is me.

So how many episodes were there this season? I missed alot of it working two jobs, and usually I was working on friday nights so I missed monk. Woe is me.
I just got the opportunity to tune back in, and it seems I am too late huh? Seems like a short season, but I dont know that for sure.

Season four has 16 episodes just like season two and season three (season one only had 12.) The schedule has been approximately the same for seasons 2, 3 and 4: Some of the episodes (8 for season 4 and 9 for seasons 2 and 3) are shown in the summer and some are shown in the winter (8 for season 4 and 7 for seasons 2 and 3). That's how they intend to air seasons 5 and 6 as well. The Monk season is actually as long or longer than most cable shows. An episode guide is available on the official site if you'd like to see what you missed.

Just be thankful that there's not a huge break between seasons because of summer and winter airings. Poor TDZ and 4400 fans have to wait for the summer before getting new episodes. That is usually like a 9 month wait.

And what about the poor Sopranos fans. Talk about a long wait for new episodes.

And the big question is, will this just be a standard season ender, or will something surprising come out of it (another clue for Trudy, or the occasionally rumored return of Monk Senior, perhaps?)?

I hope Monk senior makes his debut. that would be so cool.
Anyway TS himself said that Papa Monk may be coming back, in that TV guide article . I dont know whether he meant this season or next though.
And if he come back it will answer another big question, who will star as Monks dad?. Oooh!! Im itching to find out

I had assumed daddy Monk was going to be this season. I hope so! Jury Duty looks really funny. In the commercial there was a really funny line that totally escapes me now.

It did seem like too short of a season, and though I am looking forward to Season 5, this went by way too fast. But that's the way it is with all good things isn't it.

Didn't we make a suggestion, back on the old board, that it would be funny to see Monk get picked for jury duty?
There's certainly a world of opportunity for OCD in the jury box. I wonder if Monk will clean the blood off of the murder weapon... Or point to the DA and say that *he* did it.
"We, the jury, on the sole count of the indictment, find the defendant not guilty ... but the DA -- he's the guy. He did it." It would just be Sooooo Monkish....

It was a good episode, but I would have liked more of a finale for the end of the season. The complete absence of any Trudy clues this season is a disappointment and I was hoping for something by the last ep.
Anyway, without giving away too much... good suspense in this one, and a new way to get Adrian in on the action. Loved how Natalie knew something was up because of the blinds. Charades was great, too.

I liked it. Monk was in his element wasn't he? He sure was enjoying himself. The ending was exciting too.
Adrian and Natalie yelling yelling endlessly about I.D. or idea was classic! I loved it. The way it went on and on was like the jackhammer scene from Manhattan.

This show always gets a laugh out loud from me. I loved when Natalie threw the pkg of wipes to Monk when he was sitting in the juror section....it went over his head...the judge lowered his head and said. "Oh, my God". That really cracked me up.

This is my favorite episode of all. I remember trying to get out of jury duty for personal medical reasons. I almost made it. I agreed to be in a jury pool for traffic court. There were 100 people waiting. Thankfully my number was closer to 100 than 1. I sat there trying to figure out a good excuse after I heard it was a drunk driving case. I decided that I was very sympathetic to MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

I hate to say this, but the Jury Duty episode really didn't work for me, although the part where Randy didn't have Stottlemeyer's notes written down and the Capt let out an aggravated sigh was funny. Seems like in general lately the writers are trying too hard.

Hmmm, this was definitely one of my favorite episodes of the season. It had everything I like about Monk. Although we've become so impressed with Tony's dramatic acting skills - and the subtle nuances that he puts into the character that make him so sympathetic, this episode really showcased his comic timing brilliantly. It had the zingy one-liners I love (The well preserved guy who invinted tupperware, I'd rather be sucked out an airplane window, and my new personal favorite "I was saying, 'for the love of God, don't rip off the tape!'"). And only Monk gets away with the long, drawn out comic bits like the ID/Idea charades scene and the Not Guilty vote. Again, the vote had me in stitches - it went on so long and by the time they were done, the fact that it was no longer a "secret" ballot added to the joke. Tony plays those scenes so well. The villains were believable and the villianess, although obvious, was much more subtley so than previous episodes. Previous villians might as well have been wearing t-shirts proclaiming "I'm the guy!" The clues to her identity were there to figure out, and it was obvious that one of the jurors would end up being the killer, but she wasn't so over the top that by the time she made the phone call to confirm her flight to Bogota, I had nearly forgotten all of the clues and was slapping myself for not realizing who she was immediately. Stott & Randy were used well as support in this episode (especially Randy who makes an excellent letter D!). Some of the jokes were so old and obvious, which again makes for a great comedy, that I was reciting them right along with them (ok, you KNEW Monk wasn't going after the knife to untie himself or his fellow jurors - he HAD to fix that blind!) and "Can you repeat the part after 'I'm only telling you this once' may in fact be the oldest joke in the book! That not only doesn't make them any less funny, it almost makes them more so!
I loved that Natalie was willing to risk contempt to help Monk (and that she even had to be in the Jury pool with him when he was being called) and that she was the one who recognized that he was in danger. And I loved that the Captain and Randy got to make the arrest at the end after being so badly abused by the government guys.
Overall, this was one of my top episodes, and definately my favorite for the season. Although I wouldn't have minded clues about Trudy or even a Trudy cliffhanger, this IMHO was really the ideal way to end the season - definately on a high note! I for one can't wait for summer!

The part with Natalie and the blinds was so good. I love those small details that turn out to be important to the episode.
I too was disappointed about no Trudy clues. I wonder why they didn't deal with that subject this season??
But great episode....I wanted Adrian to go back and enjoy himself straightening up the room.

Okay, who else screamed when Monk started to use the knife to fix the blind?
I liked this one a lot. At first it seemed a little draggy, but then it got really good. Major kudos to the writers for trying some new and different ideas and making them work. They've still got a lot of creativity left after multiple seasons, and you don't see that every day.

This was definitely an upscale episode, with lots of actors, eextended chase scenes, etc. Very exciting, though it did let up a little (The "No ID" gag got tiring eventually, and Monk took too long to cast his vote, in my opinion.) However, this was a great episode. Like many others here, I wish there was a clue about Trudy, but hopefully they will reveal something next season.
All in all, a very good episode.

I really liked this episode. I liked all the moments between Stottlemeyer and Disher. The part in the beginning about the color of Escobar's shirt. LOL The scenes with Adrian and Natalie yelling back and forth through the window were great. Loved those.
