Hey Y'all regarding Kristen's video clip and all your comments...Knowing that Kristen worked in a salon.....Did any of y"all every think the the person doing the interview might have asked a question like "What was the strangest thing that ever happened to you at work? And do you think she thought that one part of the interview would have been on the video clip???? NO ! Hey ya'll TV folks love to spice things up!
I just posted about it. I thought her video was so funny. Nobody would have had teh guts to say that. It's TV, and we are all chatting about it, that's what they want right? It's working!
Yep looks like it...Oh well tommorrow is a nw day and it will bring new comments about new things...
That's so right Peppysanlover... Tomorrow is a NEW day! Kristen is a bright talented singer..just listen to her on her website. Her voice is incredible.

Maybe so (and I wasn't offended in the least by her comment) but Kristen has to realize that anything she says with a camera around can and will be edited, twisted, and used to make "compelling TV" Remember last year's Tamika/Erika Jo controversy?

Chris, that is a really good point. While I don't necessarily think that she (or other contestants) might need to take "the Jody approach" (per Tamika...sleeping a lot and staying "out of the way"), folks do need to watch what they say and consider how it might sound out of context.

Well IMHO I think that it was a hard lesson to learn really quick. I also think that it was pretty low for the network to use that part of the clip. They may have thought it was funny but it will offend some people and thus color their opinion of her. I think they could have picked something else to post. I'm sure she talked about other things.
Well, I didn't think she was portrayed very well in the Across America clip either. So, if you saw both you might conclude she is a major "air-head". On another note, why isn't there a video of Shy?
Yeah that's too bad for her. I like her voice, well what I heard of it. I also thought it is weird that Shy doesn't have a clip.

To some ppl, what Kristen said is offensive. It is something that is usually a little bit more on the private side...not something easily discussed at the supper table per say. Personally, it's not going to change how I feel about her voice, but I don't think it was something the network should have used...but then again, this is a show and they've announced their "cast." JMO

As with any televsion show, there are loads of interviews...I think they picked a clip they thought was funny...Once again...the question may have been "what is the strangest or craziest thing that ever happened to you at work? Its too bad that people are taking it the wrong way...I have followed Kristen's career for years...and seen what she has done with her life...and she is no airhead. Quire the opposite. Maybe they will change the clip?
As I've said in another thread, these clips are not great. Is USA just pushing the "characters welcome" thing. Hopefully the show will be about the music and not just the reality facade for TV.

You've got to be kidding? Bikini wax, Bikini wax, Bikini WAX!!!!! Big deal. Hasn't anyone in this room ever had that done? It's so common now. I didn't think that Kristen's comments where out of line at all. As a matter a fact, I thought she handled the answer to that question in a very charming matter. She's hillarious! She could explain what a Brazilian is and I wouldn't care. She is talented and in this business what you say does get twisted around, but this was NOT any big deal. PS Has anyone ever had a Brazilian? I dare you.
Someone said ther was no clip for Shy... I saw his clip... but that was a few days ago. Is it gone?

I don't think it is so much about what Kristen said as it is about what the producers decide to promote about her that is questionable. There is character and there is character and I think USA is using wrong definition of it. It may get controversy going but it would be more productive to all to get people talking about the positive qualities of the performer, especially as an intro to the contestant!

Okay, I know I am new around here. Just figuring out who everybody is. I am assuming you are the person who takes someone's funny joke then tries to come back at their obvious joke with something less funny and trite?

Shy's clip is back, I just saw it. Again - not overly flattering, no offense to Shy. They have him talking about the shooting. They don't highlight his vocal or musical ability and just show a couple of silly stage shots. Is he on the show for his abilities as a country artist or for his "character"? I really don't like the editing so far. I think the contestants deserve better.

OK. I did not think it was funny at all, not even interesting. My point isn't about Kristen, it is about the production of the show and what the show is really about. I would expect serious artists on the show to be concerned about how they are portrayed too. Their careers don't necessarily start or end with this show but could be damaged by it.
The only thing I see wrong with that clip is that it has everyone commenting on her personality more than her singing. She does come across as very funny, and very vibrant... then it's in stark contrast to the singing portion of her clip.
It's almost like we're seeing two very different people.

Seeing how much damage all the contrived drama did Tamika last year, I won't be bothering to check the clips. I only hope that they decide this year to give everyone a fair bit of time right from the first show so that we can judge them on their talent.
I agree Pat. Its too bad that the producers want to create drama. I don't hold much stock in what I see from the clips, and try to base my opinions of the contestants on their singing ability!
LMBO at this one! I have used hot wax for leg hair and stuff, yes, done at home by myself. I don't think it's a big deal, but not sure how it was presented on television either. I haven't seen the video clips everyone is talking about yet. I'll tell you what IS funny though....trying to wax hair off your husband! He howled worse than any girl I have ever known and tried running away from me before I was even done with him! Wuss! LOL If we females can handle it, how come a man can't? It was like watching that scene in Hitch! ROFL Very funny! I wish I would have video taped it!

Farting, deficating and urinating are all nutural things. A bikini wax is something many people, womwen AND men choose to have done. It's like shaving your legs or under arms. It's nothing gross. It's just WAXING!
