With the WWE pushing the Peter Gabriel song "Big Time" as a theme for WM22 and the feud between the current WWE Champion Edge and former Champ Cena heating up for the Royal Rumble-- Who's going to win the match at the Rumble?

The only real reason that Cena lost the title was so that his baby face popularity could be rebuilt. They've done a great job with this. Ever since Cena lost the title at NYR he's begun to rebuild his cheers and the boos have become very hard to hear. After teaming him up with Flair on the last RAW before the Rumble -- Cena had the crowd almost 100% behind him by the end of the show.

However, I think it's too early for Cena to regain the title. Yep, if he did, it would immediately propel him back to the top and the instant win over Edge would be a huge push. But if it were to happen -- how long would the cheers stay before the boos returned. I think by the time WM22 rolled around the boos could very well be back.

Edge won the right for a title match with his MITB win at WM21. I think all along the intention of that win was to make sure that Edge would have a World title match at WM22. And if we go back to the song "Big Time" I think it foreshadows more an Edge Champion going into WM. It also makes for the best story.

Coach: "Edge won the right at the last WM to be hear at WM22. He cashed in at the right moment and now he's headed for the Big Time!"

It ties everything together over the past year.

So, I say at the Rumble -- Edge retains. I hope it's not a DQ match with Edge retaining despite losing or tricking Cena into DQing himself. It can be a dirty victory for Edge.

Then RAW has 2 months to keep marketing the "Rated R Superstar" and continue the feud between Cena and Edge leading to Cena regaining the Title at WM22. That will give Cena plenty of time to keep building the Fans behind him and the ability to carry the cheers for a longer time -- especially through the spring when his movie is set for release.

I agree with you for the most part, but I don't think Edge will carry the title all the way to Mania, he'll probably drop it at the end of February or early March.

Then again, a Smackdown wrestler is probably winning the Rumble, which means Raw wouldn't be in the main event of Mania.. I could see Edge defending the title if it was maybe the 3rd match from the main event, like JBL vs Cena last year.
