Angel,
Please take a moment and take a deep breath. Diabetes is not the end of the world, nor the end of your life. I am an adult-onset diabetic. For the most part, my diabetes has been controlled thru diet, and oral medications. The only time I needed to use insulin shots was when I was pregnant. I have 3 children, a 6 year old, and 2 year old twins. All my babies are fine and very healthy. You are lucky it was caught when it was, as the longer it goes untreated, the more issues you will have.
I have a very sweet tooth. The thought of never eating chocolate again scared me more than anything else. What I came to find out is everything in moderation. I eat what I want in the portions I am told to. If you want a slice of pie, let your dietician know, and she can show you how to work it into your meal plan.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns. I will be watching this thread to see how your tests come back

My aunt has the same thing with only needing insulin while she was pregnant and she has two beautiful healthy girls. I am thinking of you and I know you'll pull through and make it out fine!
